I have continually tested positive for anti centremere antibodies along with a positive ANA for 13 years now. I do have Reynauds but rarely get symptoms… only in extreme cold . I am so tired of hearing that this test means nothing because my intuition tells me it really does

I also test positive for Anti-Smith since 2019 as well. Whatever I had that led to testing felt like lupus joint pain. I think the centromere b is very nonspecific , coming from someone who tests high positive

Hi Dr. Ortiz, I’m 32 and dying. I’ve been sick for 13 years. For most of my life, I just dealt with an overactive immune system, fevers; rheumatology based stuff. About 5 years ago, my symptoms became more sinister and I started going downhill rapidly. I was sent to a large teaching hospital near Toronto before the pandemic, and was confirmed to have tested positive for anticentromere. As stated by the lab that ran the testing, in a very small group of patients; the ACA went after their nervous system.. like it’s done with mine. My nerve specialist wasn’t even familiar with it. I have no doctors at this point who know anything about it 🤷🏻♀️ I was wondering if we could chat, so you can steer me in the right direction. Thank you 💜
Thank you for the video. I have recently found out that I am Anti Centromere positive and was only tested because I have had Raynaud's a couple years. My question, is there a possibility that you can have organ involvement long before Raynaud's shows up.? Like ILD, arrythmia issues causing a need for a Pace Maker with no disease and even an episode of Pulmonary Hypertension upon examine, that did not show on Echo.? I am not sure how aggressive I should be in getting additional testing done. I have been told, this is early into the disease process because I do not have an nail issues and lets wait 3 months.
Hello I have ANA and ACA positive results with severe Raynauds and this occurs not only in cold but also when I am sitting in sun under 83 F, not sure if I have scleroderma or not, nailfold show abnormal results; I also see swollen hands when I am in extreme heat and it hurts me bad even to touch around that area; this usually happens near blood vessels under my knuckles; they said UTCD but not CREST Or Scleroderma
I’ve ran into this video a couple times now over my last year of diagnosis. I am centromere B positive but so far only diagnosed with Lupus due to the symptoms. I do not have lupus specific antibodies. Is it possible to have Lupus/SLE with anticentromere B as the antibody showing up? All my other labs reflect lupus in the CBC and cardiolipin antibodies etc. just curious if an overlap will be coming. 🤷🏻♂️
Hey! Yes it is . There’s many studies showing centromere B isn’t specific as once thought. A lot of PBC and lupus or even sjogrens patients have centromere B positive. I tested positive for this and the anti-smith which is highly specific to lupus in 2019. My symptoms were also lupus (joint pain and muscle soreness, feeling tired / couldn’t walk much)

Whatever I had (joint and muscle pain and soreness) that led to testing me for the ANA and ENA was 100% lupus symptoms. I also test positive for smith antibody for years (highly specific to only lupus) . Centromere b is nonspecific , many people have it and only have raynauds and actual lupus symptoms. If you read more on it, it’s also positive in many other things like sjogrens, PBC, primary raynauds or even lupus (in my case). Sometimes it’s even positive in healthy people
Can Crest syndrome or rheumatoid arthritis effect the uterus? I have had irregular periods with longer periods of bleeding past the usual 7 days. My blood work shows no increase in hormones or problems with my thyroid and the ultrasound shows no cysts so my gyno isn't sure why it is abnormal.
Hello doctor writing to you from India . newcoplasm dotted 46/92 dots in Hep-2 cells fluorescence intensity 3 +++ suggestive of auto antibodies against centomere . I have varied symptoms of GI , Joints , Skun , etc etc . Can you please help me understand what this is ?

I'm ANA positive and positive for centromere B ab. Also high ESR showing. Falling GFR 70 to now 55. High creatinine.
