genuinely one of the most underrated songs by muse absolute masterpiece
Actually agree for once to a comment saying one of their songs is underrated lol.
100% agree
The entire album is massively underrated.
So glad, it seems, that this song is getting some love lately.
I think this is the closest Muse will ever get to writing a Pink Floyd song.
Echoes of... er Echoes.
muse have proved being able of creating awesome stuff besides this. however you can also hear queen in it. of course they‘re influenced by their forerunners like every band.
@@greenogre22 Correct. I'm talking in terms of style, not how good it is.
@@joshuawiedenbeck6944 👍🏼😉😊
Matt said there's a "prog monster" itching to come out of them, so hopefully there will be more similar stuff in the future.
You really missed what the bassist was playing on the last section, it's some of his best work.
true , one of my favorite muse bass riffs
Very underrated Chris moment
You mentioned the bass player only played bass, meanwhile he played guitar for the entire intro.
The choir bit at the end is the track Drones. It's actually the lead singer, Matt Bellamy's voice layered to mimic a choir you may find in a monastery. It's a rearranged version of a piece called Sanctus and Benedictus, to which Matt added his lyrics. I think it's meant to be a song of the dead, which ties in with the theme of the album.
Would just like to say this performances brings all 3 of them out of what they usually do in the band, at the start matt's obviously whistling, which I don't think he's done much in the band before making this song, same with slide guitar, chris is playing guitar at the start instead of bass and as you pointed out dom does a bit of singing
Edit: and ofc matt playing piano at the end but that's not really unusual
I love this song/s. I love classical as well as rock music so a genius like Matt Bellamy who can fuse the two is something special. The last bit Drones is based on baroque choral music, and I think Matt sang all the parts then merged them into the complete piece. I really wish he could find time to try and write a complete classical piece.
It is not possible to have such an incredible talent!!! 😱
The piano section is a quote from Elgar's Enigma Variations, the Nimrod variation, one of the saddest pieces I have ever heard.
Muse quotes Classical a lot, and it's so effective here.
And the choir at the end has these lyrics:
Killed by drones
My mother, my father
My sister and my brother
My son and my daughter
Killed by drones
Our lives between your finger and your thumb
Can you feel anything at all?
Are you dead inside?
Now you can kill from the safety of your home with drones
Amen
This song gives me the chills everytime
This song is about the world being destroyed by nuclear weapons/drones & they are all singing at the end
Not long now
@@Dan-os9kg lets go brotherrr
Ironically played after the Brexit vote, make of that what you will.
Drones song continues from Globalist and is the outro of the album
Matt Bellamy, singer, songwriter, pianist, guitarist and professional whistler.
Besides being the 21st Century Queen, they're also the 21st Century Morricone.
You guys should definitely do Muse - Invincible live. Absolutely incredible
One of my favorite masterpiece song 💯🥰
Can you cover Muse 'Shrinking Universe'?
Yes, I'm watching again! God damn masterpiece
One of my favourite songs of theirs
This is so beautiful and atmospheric Muse are amazing 😊
¡Masterpiece!
of course Matt has to be a virtuoso even in whistling lol
Muse is masterpiece, will be legend
I saw this song live in London and I cried my eyes out. I was thinking about it for days. It’s mesmerising
Gracias x hacerme conocer este hermoso tema que no conocía.. celestial y abrumador a la vez..son arquitectos de la musica aparte❤
Space opera
Good old neoliberalism summed up as a song. Magnificent lyrics
Wonderful song
i think is just perfect.
incredible performance by the bassist player chris
I was there what a set 3rd time I'd seen them wish it was more!
The countdown is a reference to the resistance tour
This always gives me goosebumps
the muse are absolute live
Guys...you can just listen...you don't need to bob your head constantly, close your eyes put your head back and let the rest take care of itself!
Hey guys! The bassist, Christopher, is the one who knows how to play the most musical instruments of the 3 members: Bass, double bass, guitar, keyboards, harmonica, drums
That first song's intro is heavily inspired by the Ennio Morricone's Spaghetti Western scores (The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, The Dollar Trilogy). Muse's song Knights of Cydonia is also based on those scores. ps. It isn't just the 3 of them on stage, there is normally someone playing a synthesizer or piano as well, so 4
Also back up guitar (uprising) and key board bass
That usually is Morgan Nicholls
