Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! Pop-up books have always fascinated me. It was a pleasure to see the video presenting its simple and such fantastic mechanisms. Big hug. Thank you very much!! :)
Excellent video. I like watching you give us a few basic examples, show us how to do it and then explain the mechanics of some beautiful finish products. I'm fascinated. Thank you for sharing your gift. Nicole from Canada
Btw,this video help's me very much!Because our teacher assigned us to make a pop-up so that's why I went on youtube to search up,and I found this video!Tnx so so much!:D
I can't believe.... Everything started with basic shapes but at the end of every work is a surprise.... It made me think 'so that's how pop-ups are made...'
Thanks a ton for sharing so many techniques. Was amazed to discover your channel. Its like a dream come true. Thanks once again. If time permits, have to try my hand out here. I will share my works with you once I am done. :)
great work sir,am amazed that this skill of pop up book making can really elevate my creativity in story telling and school projects where am required to make scrap books for projects and briefs given to me by lecturers.am an art student in Kenya am grateful.
Yes I think the series does need a tutorial on how to make a dome shape - the most common mechanism is quite difficult to make - I will try to include it at some point in the future. Meanwhile you may find something that's not quite a dome but somewhat related in Tutorial 21 Pyramids.
I purchased your book to go along with these tutorials which I am enjoying immensely. On page 82, I want to make a pop up vase shape with daffodils in it, but I would like to conceal the strip as you mentioned, but I can’t figure out how to conceal it?
Thank you for tutorials! They help a lot. I was wondering how to do flowers from 10:35. Especially the part of flower that flip. If someone figured that out, please help!
The type of mechanism used to make the flowers is explained in Tutorial 26 at 2.55 - though in that example the strip is pulled by hand, in the example you're asking about the strip is pulled by the automatic mechanism.
Lo felicito por su trabajo , aunque no hablo ingles lo entendi perfectamente , le dejo una sugerencia subtitular los videos. Nuevamente mis felcitaciones y admiración

@@thepop-upchannel4919 I'm thinking of a gift box with a hinged lid where the greater angle the lid is opened, the higher the small circular platform in the middle of the box will elevate and review the product sitting on top of it
This is difficult and I can't think of an easy way to do it. A box with a platform inside it is not a problem, but having the platform height varying with the lid - not easy! Also being a pop-up means that the whole thing has to fold flat so whatever the product on the platform is it would have to be minimal thickness.
@@thepop-upchannel4919 Then it might not be a popup then. But kinda use the popup mechanism to lift up the platform depending entirely on the lid’s angle…I agree, this is hard. I’ve been trying to find the solution for a while, but still no hope. If I can make the lid’s opening pull a strip at the bottom so that an arch can be formed, then that might be a way…The only way to make this work I could come up with is to use gears
I like using solvent based glue - it does dry quickly but not too quickly, so if need be a piece that's wrong can be pulled off again. So I use UHU but there are lots of options.
Perhaps I might be late for work, I watch your videos and can’t tear myself away.
watching this in 2024

I’m trying to figure out how to make the other part of flower to flip.

@@Masterpiece70 exactly. The thing is that I manage to make it open when strap is moving, but can’t get how does it go back to close position.
Is it possible use this mechanism to make a box that once the lid is opened a platform is lifted up? I can't seem to figure it out
I'm not sure how you're planning to make a box with a lifting lid.
