    What you could do is thread the hot-wired switch into the base through the hole, remove the tape and it'll make the fan look much tidier, You need to put some electrical tape around the wire nut at the bottom as there is likely some exposure. It may look messy but it's a safer and proper option. You could just have the old switch knob sitting there to cover it up maybe even glue it down if possible.

      The wire nut at the bottom? Either way I will go back to this fan and make it look nicer, I also do have plans to put the knob back there for deco purposes for now

      ​@Connectitthefancollector ooh nice great. It's sad when these things happen but once the final product is finished, who's gonna know a new cord was put on it. You could even buy a new switch for it and wire it up to

      @Fanfanatic2012 A bad connection killed the cord so I had to replace it in order for the fan to run again, i'll neaten up the fan when given the chance
