I love these videos! I bought a hydroponic garden called the 'KichGarden' when I knew nothing about them. It seems to works pretty well. Now I know much more and I'm getting ready to order another. Probably an AeroGarden Bounty Basic. I think I'll own several, eventually. 🤣
@@aerogardenexperiments Sir, cheap aluminum foil works to block the light. Start the seedlings in seed starter soil, place them in the basket with no expensive sponge, and crimp foil around the top to hold the seedling in place and block light until the roots anchor it in place. A few expanded clay pebbles helps too. Saves a lot of money on sponges. They may hate you though if you show the public this idea.
I get aphids frequently. I just remove such gardens immediately and grow the plants such as Tomatoes that Aphids don't show any interest. I also saw spinder mites once. Luckily, I was able to recognize it early on and discarded the plants immediately.
The pump seems to be the issue. AG pump is kind of like nft but this pump just moves the water around. It might be better to attach a kratky jar dwc pump to it it seems.
I have just begun using the iDOO stickers on the seed baskets, primarily for preventing algae and only secondarily for ID since I keep a separate journal with diagrams of the units and the seeds planted. It seems to me that unless you can get stickers absolutely perfectly positioned, they can keep the grow domes from forming the "greenhouse" effect. Might it be better to wait just until the seedling begins germination under the growth dome to then remove the domes and attach the stickers at that point? Thanks. Your videos are very infomative.

@@baneverything5580 yeah, I use foil a lot and it's so cheap, and easy to use. I never tried without the sponge. I will try this. Thanks.
@@aerogardenexperiments Love your channel. I hope the foil eliminates the sponges.
very good, thank you.... can the pump be fully controlled, switched on for so long then switched off for so long etc
The pump runs 30 mins on and 30 mins off. We can turn off the pump if we want to. This is all we can control, nothing else.
okay, thank you, so not very good control of the pump really@@aerogardenexperiments
Do you ever have any pest issues and if so, how do you treat or prevent them? Always love your content!

@@aerogardenexperiments Thank you!
Do you use tap water, distilled water, or bottled water?
Just the tap water.
@@aerogardenexperiments Thank you for the quick reply!
I would love to hear your impressions of the uharvest from indoor garden works!
Yeah, I am eyeing it. I may go for it pretty soon.

Pump is decent in iDoo to circulate the water inside the bowl. Should be good enough in most cases. Of course, Aerogarden has better irrigation setup.

@@baneverything5580 I've used aluminum foil, but I'm not great at getting it around a new delicate seedling without damaging it.
