- This is a mash-up of various Marvel cartoons from 1966 and 1967, including Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Sub-Mariner. Guest starring the X-Men with lots of Jack Kirby art, among others.

It was 1966. I would have been nine. I had just learned about Batman and was totally unaware of Marvel comics. Until one Sunday afternoon I stumbled on this show. I'll never forget it. It began my lifelong love for Marvel. And sure the animation was totally minimalistic, but it sparked my imagination like nothing else.
I was born in this year. These cartoons are classic.
Same here. I wonder if the powers-that-be ever fully realized what a GREAT advertisement for their comic books this show was and how many life-long fans it created.
Me and my grade school buddies actually watched these in 1974?, man those were good times
I love the Jack Kirby Artwork in many of these Classic Marvel Animations.

@@joejose8433 I always thought Radioactive Man and Klaw were two of the greatest villains! Hey you cant do better than radiation. Im trying to remember- didnt he shoot it out of a foam gun? Klaw was too cool- all red with rectangular pupils and a sideways tuning fork for teeth? That is pretty out there characters. They lost a real good opportunity not making Klaw the right way in the movies.
@ Tom Deluca- In regards to wasted opportunity for Klaw in the first Black Panther movie, I couldn't agree more! Andy Serkis is a terrific character actor and Ryan Coogler wasted both the character and the actor's talents. And especially the cool costume!
The best one was the Captain America trilogy: The Sleeper Shall Awake/Where Walks the Sleeper/The Final Sleep. Absolutely incredible concept somehow shoehorned into a half hour. It could be made into a movie so easily.

This was awesome! It incorporated most of my favorite episodes. The original Avengers with the Hulk and Iron Man in his bulky first armor. Plus Dr Doomsday and the original X-Men. Even include the 1967 Spider-Man and Fantastic Four cartoons. Again great job!

I used the live for these cartoons.while archaic by todays standards they were so cool to ten year old boy.also i loved the sound effects the narrators voice and thors regal tone.

I loved the '66 Marvel cartoons. THIS was the one episode that disappointed me. It drove me nuts how they had used FF Annual #3 without incorporating any of the main story: The wedding!

Well done video. I remember purchasing the "big issue" (which cost 25 cents instead of the normal 12 cents) covering Reed & Sue's wedding! For us baby boomers back in the 60s, this was awesome! And for those of us who were gifted enough to draw well, I can't tell you how much joy it brought us!

1966 was the best in sat morning cartoon.Capt. Crunch. One of the new teacher at Powderly Elm, told us to bring comic book to class to read.Said they were the new myth of the modern era.Mine was taken by my homeroom teacher and I was sent to the office.He came and told what it was for.Sad a lot of teacher were against this. If not a lot more kids would enjoyed reading.

It made me recall how exciting it was to be 9 years old and wake up at 7am on a Saturday morning to watch those awesome Grant-Ray mostly Kirby drawn images.😇 And of course,the best F.F. Series by Hanna Barbera. And Spidey. Man, we had it good. Great job of fitting all those unconnected pieces together into a cohesive story. Which Grant-Ray episodes did the Avengers feature in? Cap? Thor? Hulk? Iron man? Thanks again for all the fun, Fred. You're the best!

You were lucky, Tony. I never got to see the Marvel Superheroes toons until I was an adult, at the Marvel Con in 1976 in NYC. (I may have already told you.) At the con they were shown in 16mm. After years of waiting, thinking they were as fully animated as FF and Spidey, I was appalled at the crudeness. walked out of the room! Later I grew to appreciate them as a showcase for Kirby's art. The Avengers were featured in several episodes of Cap, and the FF Annual 3 adaptation (which was altered from Reed an Sue's wedding to a summit at the Peace Building) was in one of the Sub-Mariner cartoons, which also managed to squeeze in the plot from FF #6 with Subby vs. Doom. Thanks again for your kind words.
Fred - Those cartoons have a special place in my heart. My 2 older brothers, with whom I had to compete for control of our black and white T.V., weren't into superhero comics like me and would sleep in on Saturday morning, so I would get up at 7am and have the Marvel Superheroes all to myself!(laying in my p.j.s on the cold turaso floor on many a chilly South Florida winter morning I might add.) You're not as discriminating about the quality of animation and this was my introduction to many of these characters. Thanks again for taking me back to a sweeter time. In the words of the Wilson sisters from the band Heart; "You're the Magic Man!" 😊

Funny thing about the Spider-Man clips, there actually exists footage of Spider-Man in the style of the 66 show. It's from a video of Stan discussing his marvel heroes around that period, it's brief but it's a dream fufilled for this true believer😂😂😂

Has anyone else noticed an error on the cover of FF Special #3? On one part, it has Nick Fury from the 60's (with eyepatch). Just under the logo, it has Nick Fury from WWII. I wonder if anyone won a No-Prize for that???

This is a mashup of several cartoons. The originals can be bought on mostly bootleg DVDs.
@@kirbycontinuum5700 yeah I have seen them on ebay for a lot of money sometimes- they were crap but it is part of my past. And at least they used real Kirby and others art work instead of re doing like spiderman and fantastic four in 1967. Watching those cartoons and reading out of the original comics at the same time was more than I could believe!! It used to give me a " buzz" for about 3 days running!

This is too iconic. It portrays most of the characters that made the Marvel Universe what it was during the 1960's, and is now being re-imagined in the MCU. It is also really poorly animated even if it is taking its influence from Kirby's art, and the voice acting, sound effects, and situations are pretty hilarious.

Yes I realize it’s a mashup of cartoons. What I am saying is I am a television addict, from the 60s, 70s,80s, and 90s. It’s possible I have missed the X-Men footage when or if it was ever aired. I just don’t recall seeing it. I don’t remember the X-Men ever being aired until Fox had it in the 80s. The footage in the mashup is clearly from the 60s Marvel Super Heroes show. I remember the Avengers guest appearances, but not the X-Men. I could be wrong.

The X-Men stood in for The Fantastic Four who couldn't appear on the syndicated Marvel Superheroes due to having their own series on ABC in 1967.
One Fantastic Four story that was used on the show that substituted The X-Men for The Fantastic Four was reprinted in The Fantastic Four Treasury Edition from 1974 where Doctor Doom sends the FF and Namor out into space.
This technically wasn't the Avengers cartoon of Marvel superheroes this was actually Captain America they never really actually had The Avengers they were just a part of the Captain America portion of Marvel Superheroes just like the X-Men were apart of Namor episodes

The same like 3 people do the voices. Used to watch this as a kid and amost bought a bootlag disc with msny episodes on it but missed out .
I did the Scarlet Witch voice, using some computerized enhancements.
I use to watch this old cartoon as a kid and although they were drawn like the comics the way they moved was always a little disappointing.
