    Great video Solomon. I was first introduced to this opening by NM Robert Ramirez, who has a great playlist in the Czech Pirc. Such an underrated opening.

      Hey Danny, very underrated opening indeed! And ya NM Robert Ramirez has got some great stuff on this.

      Same here re Robert Ramirez, and I've had a successful run with it in Rapid and faster. But I find lately that I'm late to castle and White gets his attack going too fast for me.

    Qd4 was such an explosive move! It went from a relatively normal looking maneuvering middle game into a tactical knife fight in just one move!

      Right!! Ya that move took this game up another notch!

    Czech speaks for itself. Actually there is a new German Chessable course on the Czech ("Tschechisch") available, also the Short&Sweet version.

    Love it! I’ve only been playing the black lion. Which is such a fun opening. But this one is too and it’s proving really tricky for opponents to play against at my level. You rule Giant!

    I enjoy watching you're videos they are always short and to the point. I have a question I'm trying to be a decent player with the Cezch/Pirc so at the moment it's all I play. At the club at least half my games my opponents play BG5 some take the knight & some don't but this really freaks me out. Any suggestions on handling the situations thank a bunch.

    • @TheChessGiant
      @TheChessGiant  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks a ton for that! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. And ya I talk about this in my course (and breifly in upcoming video!) But my favorite response there for black is 4. ... Qb6! 5. Bxf6 is the most common move for white but that is a mistake due to 5. ...Qxb2, and there's other ways our opponent can mess that up there including 5. Na4 in which case we have 5. ...Qa5+ and we are gonna win either the hanging knight on a4 or hanging bishop on g5. If Rb1 defending the pawn, I encourage you to plug that position into the masters database and see what pops up but 4. ...Qb6 performs well!

    when white make a Bd2 move attacking the queen, my reflex is moving the queen to c7. because white can do Nb5, Qa4 b3, Qa6 Na6+ with the fork.

    • @TheChessGiant
      @TheChessGiant  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya! Oftentimes black will eventually have to relocate the queen to b6 or c7. However, notice that Nb5 is not really a threat because we can drop back to b6 or d8 and we are completely fine.

    This was my first regular opening. And I still don't feel comfortable playing hypermodern defenses.

    • @TheChessGiant
      @TheChessGiant  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Totally! Ya that makes sense man. I never liked Hypermodern defenses until I had been playing for 15 years - and if you never like them, there's nothing wrong with that at all.
