The irony of the latest Makita DLM533 model that it has a full aluminium deck vs the steel one on the DLM532 bur it's still 7 Kg heavier than the steel one.. Oh yes, it's more expensive too while being equally powerful. I don't get it. A company churns out a new model, charges it more, puts an aluminium deck on it and makes it heavier. If the engineers managed to get more power out of it, to stop it clogging in just a bit higher and wet grass, it would be a winner. But this way, sorry Makita, you're not getting my money for this. I actually expect the next step being the adding of a 3rd famous 18V Makita battery in a row, therefore getting a 54 V power beast with 6 slots for the batteries. Now that would be a game changer. Maybe even make the a bit larger, let's say 28". And of course, make those handles foldable/collapsable. I'm a commercial user and my van is just to short to put the mower in with an upright handle... But I still love you Makita. I love your battery powered blowers, hedge trimmers and chain saws.. But as far as mowers go I'll stick with my 80 year old technology of internal combustion honed in to perfection by the engineers in Honda. Sure its loud. Sure it spits out fumes. Sure you have to put gas, check and replace oil and don't forget to drain the gas over the winter. But my god that thing starts at the first pull and doesn't stop until you kill the switch. No bogging down, no clogging, no grass to tall or thick to tackle.. Tesla maybe more powerful than the Mercedes but Makita or EGO are sure as hell not as torqi or powerful as a commercial gas powered Honda mower..

I prefer the aluminium deck because it cant rust.
I have the steel Makita and yeah it does the job fine but like you said my old Honda handled the job with ease.
