I've grown Golden Berry for the first time this year in pots in the greenhouse, like yours mine have had an incredible amount of spidermite on! I did end up spraying them in the end.
I opened a dried husk one today and it was yellow all around, rather than before I looked and they were tinged green. So I though ok, I'll try it.
I split it in half and had a lick of the middle - yum! Kinda like pineapple, so I popped that half in and my face turned from mmmm to UGHHH and had to spit it out :( :( It wasn't how I would describe as sour, it had some really horrible aftertaste I can't describe and it lingered until I had a drink. I'm so sad because I thought they'd be lovely from the description on the packet. I'm gonna try them again but maybe they needed even more ripening still. They feel kind of waxy on the outside, but I've seen some people say they are sticky -perhaps I need to wait until they are sticky. If they were just sweet and sour I wouldn't mind, but they definitely tasted off to me.
