  • I built this little cabin with the help of a few friends, 28 years ago. While I’d fall short of calling it abandoned- I may have been neglecting it from time to time. It’s hard to do it all! It’s time I was a better steward of why God has entrusted me with.
    Thanks for watching! Jeff

What a great little get away and excellent therapy. You're living a bit of my dream here. I think I'd build a new camp on one of your other locations just like you want it with all your own milled lumber.

Great video of one of the best resources we have been entrusted to. My family enjoys a similar cabin/ woodlot, and also follows the man in charge of it all.

Jeff thanks for bringing us back to your little piece of heaven. Perfect place to spend time as you balance the have to do, want to do and dream about doing stuff. Great place to enjoy the gift of peace in your heart and mind. Looking forward to see what endeavor unfolds on the lake for you and your wife and family.

Just ran across your channel brother And listen to your story you being so sincere about everything you talked about make me want to join your Channel I've seen so many sawmill videos in so many off grid videos. They were starting to get kind of stale. But you brought a new light to my hope of someday maybe owning a piece of property and buying a sawmill and building a cabin. Thank you so much my dream will probably never happen but I just keep on dreaming. God bless have a great day

17:30 I can relate but only when I'm hunting cuz I don't have a cabin yet. I'm a 49 year old dairy farmer as well as have a sawmill business too. I really need a get away. My brothers and I own an 80 acre woodlot the next town over and I've dreamed of building a 16x24 there myself but can't seem to find the time. So, for the time being, I vicariously with my dream to videos such. I look forward to following your channel. Kings to you!

    Hi Jeff, Duane from Ontario.
Recently started watching some of your videos. Good stuff, keep up the good work.
I have a "get away place" too about 3:15h north of Toronto and do enjoy going there in the summer.
Right now I have two camper trailers on the property. Small private lake and yes no cell phone which is the best part of it.
    Cheers.

Sorry to hear about your buddy Ian! Can tell he was a special friend! Love the cabin and just want to throw this out there. What about adding onto it. You could do a larger living room and repurpose the cabin into a bedroom and a utility room for your mechanicals! Look forward to following along!

Not to disparage your camp but. New construction sure a lot more fun than remodeling. Been thinking about a 16 by 24 cabin at my woodlot. Great minds think alike, lol.

Your cabin roof sheds the Heavy slow .. You may consider just putting on a tin roof with a popular color.. If you are camouflage maybe you should be grateful oh period this is your get away place.. You didn't talk about how much installation you have in your walls but a ceiling with insulation on top is probably all you need.. However some people do like the look of it open area.. Maybe if you are ambitious consider building a new structure next to with thicker walls and a place to put a Garage 4 a snowmobile or 4 Willer.. This should be a 2 story structure to fit well on your existing building.. You probably need a shelf around the perimeter of what you do have.. To hold To keep cam goods. Well it's your retirement cabin remember as we age we do like climb stairs very well.. I do not know why they can make a vivid diesel heater and yet they cannot make AAffordable vinted propane heater furnace.. I also don't understand how come people out there in Canada in areas where the sun don't shine very much go for steam power generation of electricity.. One can keep water enough to Inside enough to make a basic amount of electrical current to charge batteries.. Any your fuel source is falling on the groundin the name of wood 😅
