Yeah I agree with you both. I have to say honestly I have smelled both side by side, I cant imagine how wealthy I would need to be to buy GIT over CW, they smell nearly identical. It would have to be a prestige thing, just to say your wearing a $250 cologne.

LOL. honestly never tried it. but after wearing GIT more, i'm convinced the layering wouldnt really work like i thought
I think for so many people in their 20's or maybe a bit older (I'm 25) CW is a smell that is hold's childhood memories.
The name is perfect for me because I remember smelling it on a guy at a college when I went swimming with my dad at a college full sized indoor pool when I was a kid. Therefore it has a sort of chlorine pool water smell to me which I like.
I didn't smell it again until two years ago when I bought it as one of my first bottles based on youtube reviews! LOL memories galore!
yeah i meant a homemade version of Molecule 02. you can buy ambroxan on Perfumer's Apprentice and make it yourself. we made their 3 of them. :) otherwise, you're right, it would be cheaper to buy GIT.

I remember in 6th or 7th grade, I thought Cool Water was the MOST elite cologne that you would buy! lol - I've gone through about 3 bottles of this stuff and have no need to go back. However, I would also never buy GIT because it smells so similar. Davidoff did a great job duplicating that smell.
hey man! i love cool water. but let's say i spray 3-4 times before leaving my house, it doesn't get noticed by someone i meet an hour or two later..i have tried spraying on pulsepoints, with moisturised skin, etc but don't think it's been working. the only way to have it noticed is to spray more, but how will i know if i am overdoing it?
@sf2explus it works differently for different ppl in different climates etc. From my experience, it is difficult to pick up after the 2nd hour
I tried them both sides by side today, have to say they smell 90% identical.
GIT smells nearly identical to Cool Water. Mont Blanc Explorer and Armaf smell nearly identical to Aventus. The only two Creeds I’m interested in are Silver Mountain Water (which is unique and amazing, and Aventus Cologne.
You guys left out Cereus No.7. Has a very similar GIT vibe at the opening with a clary sage, coachwood, and tonka bean drydown. Smells 10 times better from the bottle than from the free napkin samples that Cereus gives out for free. Be happy to decant a sample for you guys to get your nose on for comparison. Send me a PM if your interested in trying it.

Great Ideal my friend but isn't molecule 02 like 140 bucks and cool water is like 15-35 bucks depending on 2.5-4.2oz. And if you look around g.i.t. you can get for like 140 for a 4 oz. So, at that price wouldn't it be smarter to just buy g.i.t.? Unless I miss understood what you meant and you can clarify what you meant. Thank you. Another great video.
i smelled davidoff hot h20 the other day it was surprisingly pleasant!
I writing this before I watch the review. I did sample CW and liked the opening, the middle stuff was very nice too..and then..and then..the very end of the dry down it went straight down a gopher hole. A really odd and not so pleasant ending.

Maybe you should do some sort of placebo test with GIT and Cool Water, maybe trying to convince someone that GIT (which is actually CW) is the 'better' smelling one or the one that is much more expensive. Sometimes to me it seems like fragrance fanatics let the label go to their heads. Im just saying that it might add some perspective.

I see a TINY bit of similarity in the mid to GIT but not as much as other seem to smell in it. I'd say the vibe is similar but I don't think it's just a marketing thing---- CW definitely smells more "blue" and GIT smells more "green" like plants.
I agree about pricing on this one too--- I am about 2/3's through my 4.2oz bottle I got off Amazon and I think I payed something like 25-30 bucks for it total. A STEAL!
Wait, how do you wear cool water? You mentioned it in your shootout right? So curious man. Never really had a decent fragrance before and since this impressed you so much I want to try it. Oh, and it would be nice if you give me suggestions for fragrances in college since I am going to college. Love your reviews guys.

everyone should be loved and nurtured, should have access to quality healthcare, education and healthy environment of every kind. It is not a character flaw that I might not have been treated as badly as you might have been in life and that I may have an education of sorts. Again, it IS sad that some ppl dont get the start that EVERY child deserves. I hope we can personally put this behind us and that we can have at least polite interaction.

Great vid as usual. Have u guys tried Dior ambre nuit? Its a sleeper hit IMO, if you guys could do a split in the future sometime, I'd greatly appreciate it, since its impossible to get here, and theres a lot of interest for it so i dont think there would be a problem filling in spots :)

I wore this for 3yrs straight during college 10yrs ago, it was the only frag i had at the time, then moved onto Boss No6 and the Polo's when i finished lol.

Does this signal Davidoff month?! :O Lmao. I honestly don't know if I've ever tried Cool Water. I tried Green Irish Tweed, which was hyped all kinds of crazy way back when (still is), and wasn't really a fan. Not bad, but not for me. Luca Turin, when describing vetiver, called it "unbending", and that's a good word for why I didn't like it.
Also, I'm a fragrance snob too. I just am. I can't help it. I think it's a natural part of getting more experienced.
Hi! Excellent reviewers. I'm 24 and I'm thinking of buying a fresh fragrance but I have several options: Lacoste Essential Sport, Light Blue and Versace pour homme. Is Cool Water at the same level as far as fresh scents go? Which one would you recommend? Regards from Chile!
Today I smelt Cool Water for the first time and to be honest, i didn't like it at all. For me, it smells exactly like the wash machine detergent powder!!! Man....it was disgusting! Despite this, the fragance considerably gets better with the dry down and It almost seemed nice to me in the end....very similar to the dior sauvage dry down. Does GIT really smell like this?

The reason i think youre saying that you can bring cool water back is simply because it came out in 1988. When it was at its peak of popularity i dont think you and me were wearing this scent. Well, i definitely wasn't it came out in 88 and i was born in 89. Im sure that our kids or the next generation will say the same thing about la nuit de lhomme or 1 million etc.
What's the batch number on your cool water ? I heard the 09 reformulation is beautiful .

I've used both and how u2 figure they are in anyway similar, I question this site in a big way. I have other serious concerns about ur reviews also.
ETinvernon So what? If you don't like our reviews...don't watch. I have serious concerns about people who feel the need to be negative for no reason (like you). To us (and to many others) there is a strong relationship between CW and GIT. To you there's not. So? We just see it differently.

The one for female IS EVEN WORSE than the one for men. It's such a cheap, herbal, 90's vibe, cheap discount store type of a fragrance.

Don't worry about it Bros. This guy is probably off his meds again. On another note, i was looking at a review for Pure Malt on Amazon the other day. Great review! I've been surfing a bunch of your old reviews for suggestions to give to my husband. I was also searching Fragrantica and noticed that the nose behind Cool Water is the same nose as MB Individuel! If a designer wants to dupe a Creed, they know where to go!

I own both Cool Water and GIT and they smell nothing at all alike to me. Not even close. I hear the comparisons all the time and I just don't get it. GIT smells primarily floral to me; I mostly get the violet. With cool water, I don't get any floral hardly at all. It's a deeper, darker scent where GIT is lighter. Oh well, everyone's nose is different.

My first thought analysis is that this guy is HIGH, not in a good way. thats sad. Ppl can be frustrated and angry, probably little wonder considering the environment many are brought up in. It makes me sad thinking about it.
