Excellent idea for a video. Though this story started sad I am very glad that people like Henry Wood Elliott were willing to fight to do the right thing.
Thank you! Amongst the sad stories there are always heroes to be found. They are a good reminder that it's always worth doing something, even if it might seem small 🙂
I can't even begin to describe how awesome it's been watching your journey as a TH-cam content creator. There's videos here that I love just having on in the background to make me feel like my daily chores are steeped in a marine bio atmosphere, and then there are really great and informative videos like this one which really convey your passion for the subject; keep it up!☺️
I have been diving at the Monterey bay since 2010. I remember feeling claustrophobic when going through the kelp - it was that thick and dense. My must recent dive was a couple of years ago and it was almost like a desert full of urchins. It's always refreshing to see a few otters.. Nice video!
Great informative Video! Two things to improve on in my opinion: 1: Use higher resolution pictures 2: At 5:18 you said that 3 in every 1 seal was hunted but shouldn't it be the other way around? 1 in 3 were hunted?
Thanks for the tips :). Unfortunately good quality copyright free pictures are not always easy to come by :( It really was 3 in every 1. That's why the population collapsed so rapidly. They were were being hunted much faster than they were reproducing. It was pretty nasty :/
Completely random question but is it possible a leviathan class sea creature could be out there, Or been extinct? Also you’ve got amazing content and are great at simplifying complicated things
Henry Elliott: superhero!! Thank you Henry, and thank you Maria for the history lesson (and the good news). 💖💖 The EU has banned fur sales, we need the US, **Canada**, and the rest to follow. 🦸

Thank you! I would consider a blue whale a leviathan class animal. They are HUGE! So in that sense I think so :)
