What's your opinion on factory Rubicon wheels on a JL with 35s. I bought my Jeep and it had black rhino wheels on it. They're like the heaviest wheels on the market and I've recently gone through a weight loss phase with my Jeep trying to be more of an overlander instead of an overloader. Just wondered your thoughts on the durability of running the factory Rubicon wheels
According to most tire manufactures, a 12.5" wide tire requires a minimum wheel width of 8" and up. A factory Rubicon Wheel (non-recon) is only 7.5" wide. While you could do this setup, it's not recommended and we personally would not do it. Cheers from the team at EPIC!

I have owned a Colorado ZR2 now for 5 years now and it’s been a great daily driver as well a great off-road vehicle. In my opinion for somebody who mainly uses their truck for everyday use and takes it to the woods to play on weekends it is a very good option with its rear and front lockers the truck is truly a good on and off-road performer
Thanks for watching and commenting. We're Jeep and RAM guys here and our specialty is late model versions of those brands. We drive them daily, test equipment and recommend from personal daily/off-road experience. The only way we would do another vehicle brand would be to buy one ourselves and then test out various aftermarket products for a year to become properly informed. That's our unique approach that nobody else does in our area of the world. All that being said, every day people ask us to work on their XYZ vehicle and we do keep track - such that if we branch out to another brand, we know it will be sustainable for us. Interior headroom reduction for 2024 is sad news. I was already bummed about the weird screen and A/C vents, but that's a deal killer for me. I guess I'm staying in a '23 until the next full redesign in about four years. Now I just gotta decide if I keep my JT Mojave or grab one of the last diesel JT Rubicons. I'm wondering if you guys have experienced a decrease in the number of Jeeps you get in for mods? Stellantis sales of Jeeps seem to be really declining in the U.S and to a lesser degree here in Canada so far.
Great episode gents. So far really enjoying the content. I’m one of your Australian viewers, but I’m also an ex-BC boy (Vancouver Island), so like to keep up on the scene back there. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on legalities and restrictions on lifts and mods. Over here in Oz it’s crazy. For any vehicle with ESC you can only do a 2” lift and 2” taller tire before you need full engineering (thousands and thousands of dollars) and even then it’s almost impossible to get done. I can’t legally run 37s on my Gladiator, which is beyond stupid. Your thoughts??
Thanks and hello to Australia! We have laws and limits here, but nothing like your area of the world. I would be sad to have a Gladiator on 35s. 37s/38s/40s are the norm in our shop. We'll touch on this subject in a later episode for sure! Cheers from the team at EPIC!
@@EPIC-4WD it gets worse… we don’t even get the 33s on our Jeeps over here. Biggest is 32s, so max legal upgrade is 34s (305/70r17). 34s (and even 35s) make me sad too, so I run 37s on mine a lot of the time regardless of them being “non-compliant”. Life’s too short for 34/35s. 😁
All rumours at the moment with the future of the Gladiator. We too can't wait to see what happens, especially with the engine. Cheers from the team at EPIC!
The rumour through the grape vine... is that the engine physically doesn't fit. They could make a version that does, who knows? Cheers from the team at EPIC!
Would love to hear your predictions and speculations on the 2025 Jeep lineup… new models, changes, new power plant options, etc. Worth holding off on a ‘24 to get a ‘25??
Not a fan of snorkels. Most people misunderstand snorkels and what they actually do and don't do. We've been wheeling all over the continent in all types of environments , including sand, dust storms, snow storms, deep water, etc. And we've never once said "geez, if only I had a snorkel". We've also had many friends and team members that have run snorkels, so we've seen the positives and negatives. That being said, many people love them and swear by them ;-) Cheers from the team at EPIC!
The thing about Mickey Thompson tires, They're no longer made by Cooper, Cooper was bought out By Goodyear, and majority of their tires are made from the Chinese plants that Goodyear owns
I was ruined early on because my first Gladiator Rubicon I ever drove was my buddy's ecodiesel. It's hard to buy a gas V6 Glad Rubicon knowing how much better that diesel is for the application.
As an ex mechanic I can understand why you would work on Jeeps. But I struggled to understand why you would not be driving much more reliable Toyota’s? Having unfortunately owned a Jeep TJ i’m glad that down under we can get decent vehicles and now owner Land Cruiser 70 series.
Totota screwed the pooch with the 4th gen Taco and it's already having issues. 4 cylinder turbo, and can't climb like a Jeep (no matter what the fanboys say). Unfortunately for the Tacoma, it also looks like an alien's nutsack. You are correct, you guys have better choices down under than we do.
Hi, who cares about Toyota oversized American built Ute’s the Land Cruiser 70 series are superior and available most of the world, of course the US and Canada have legislated to higher pollution standards. Designs were required for their markets. If enough people started asking for decent wheel drive, I’m sure Toyota would manufacture it for the US too.
They havent had airbags up top before no need to srart now such a waste i see ppl ripping off all the airbags and putting in the 23 plastics to have that space back
Yes...Jeeps are designed for shorter people. I've banged my head more than a few times on city roads alone...at 6"1" . I think the new infotainment centre is terrible. Kinda an afterthought, should have left it alone
Yeah, it's quite something how the new power seats combined with the head level trim for the new airbags has reduced the head room. Cheers from the team at EPIC!
Super cool but high cost. We'd rather spend the money on a properly setup suspension for the given need and have money left over for other cool stuff ;-) Cheers from the team at EPIC!

EAO with a US location?
In the future yes. It's on our roadmap. Cheers from the team at EPIC!
I'm wondering if you guys have experienced a decrease in the number of Jeeps you get in for mods? Stellantis sales of Jeeps seem to be really declining in the U.S and to a lesser degree here in Canada so far.
Quite the opposite. We're busier that we have ever been. It's just insane here.
I saw a report that said the Gladiator outsold the Ridgeline 3 to 1 in Q1 2024.
Ah, ok - haven't seen those numbers. We were looking at the fiscal 2023 numbers awhile back. Cheers from the team at EPIC!
@@EPIC-4WD might be the big discounts.
We only get the turbo 2 liter now in the Wrangler, and they dont tell us what they are going to do with the Gladiator 👍🇦🇺
All rumours at the moment with the future of the Gladiator. We too can't wait to see what happens, especially with the engine. Cheers from the team at EPIC!
@EPIC-4WD Also forgot to mention fuel here is 2-2:30 a liter, and a new Wrangler is around 90 grand cheer guys. love your work
I had nothing to do when I was drinking rum and coke so I decided to listen to this …
This is perfect. Thank you for getting your buzz on and listening to us carry on about Jeeps! Cheers from the team at EPIC!
Jeep doesn't get a straight six? What the? Any reasons anyone?
The rumour through the grape vine... is that the engine physically doesn't fit. They could make a version that does, who knows? Cheers from the team at EPIC!
Did someone say cookies? Maple syrup and secret ingredients 😂
Heck yes we said cookies. Send us cookies! Cheers from the team at EPIC!
Would love to hear your predictions and speculations on the 2025 Jeep lineup… new models, changes, new power plant options, etc. Worth holding off on a ‘24 to get a ‘25??
Snorkels? Yes or No on those? Regardless of make
Not a fan of snorkels.
Are Snap On tools really worth the money? I know they are great tools, but are they truly worth the prices?
I'll let the Ginger chime in here since he's bought 100s of thousands of dollars of Snap-on product ;-)
The thing about Mickey Thompson tires, They're no longer made by Cooper, Cooper was bought out By Goodyear, and majority of their tires are made from the Chinese plants that Goodyear owns
Hey everybody
Hello good sir. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers from the team at EPIC!
I was ruined early on because my first Gladiator Rubicon I ever drove was my buddy's ecodiesel. It's hard to buy a gas V6 Glad Rubicon knowing how much better that diesel is for the application.
😂 you said you dont know everything.... That's not what shawn said😮
Pffsssttt... Don't listen to Shaun ;-)
Suggestion - When you talk about certain things like bead lock as an example, show a tire with bead lock.
1 Canadian Dollar equals
0.74 United States Dollar
an other great podcast, i would listen to you two talk about cookies,
That's a great show topic, will write that idea down!
All diesel motors should retain the ability to say fk the govt....i'm stripping!
That would be the dream. Cheers from the team at EPIC!
They havent had airbags up top before no need to srart now such a waste i see ppl ripping off all the airbags and putting in the 23 plastics to have that space back
Gotcha. This would be a very expensive endeavour as it's all the panels connecting to the new sound bar etc. Just find a 23 ;-)
I don’t even like vehicles. 😂
I’m 6’1 and have never had an issue getting in or out of my Gladiator or my Wrangler 4xe.
Thank good 'ol Justin for your high fuel cost. I'm not sure which is worse...Justin or our demented nursing home president? Close call.
I think it's a tie lol... Cheers from the team at EPIC!
portals: pros cons
Super cool but high cost. We'd rather spend the money on a properly setup suspension for the given need and have money left over for other cool stuff ;-) Cheers from the team at EPIC!
Are you guys up for an expedition to Morocco?! It’s going to be EPIC!!! Ya can’t do shit with basic people 😆🥳
For sure we'd love to visit Morocco. We have some international plans for 2025 that we're working towards ;-) Cheers from the team at EPIC!
