Harry Kane needs to concentrate on scoring goals for England instead of thinking he is Glen Hoddle dropping deeper and deeper like he now does for Tottenham,i hope not scoring when we score 6 has hurt him like any true striker and it brings back his desire to be at the sharp end of the pitch seeking it scoring opportunities.

100% agree it’s pointless when he does it against san morino scoring 4 goals. He should have done it when it mattered. Having a long striker as a captain is bad idea. Callum Wilson is in lethal form he should have come on in that France game.

Lol so much Little Englander bollocks within the first 10 minutes alone.
If you wonder why we don't produce any good coaches, just listen to Sam talk for 10 minutes.

What an idiotic statement. He’s took a team from lower league to Europe. The long ball myth is ridiculous. The players had had in different teams wouldn’t have played the long ball. It’s a lazy assessment. If Sam was in charge of England he wouldn’t have been scared to change the system or make subs in the important games where Southgate has consistently failed.

@@georgearthern2163 "Change the system" = Stick a big man up top and hoof long balls to him. 🤣
It's not a myth, it's how his teams play. You only need to listen to him talk and how much modern football grates on him, ie playing out from the back and actually passing the ball. Newcastle didn't want him and Everton didn't want him, and no sizable club wants him because of the "football" he plays.
He only gets job because teams are terrified of being relegated, because of the huge financial gap between PL and Championship. And he isn't even an elite park the bus manager, there are much better ones around. Like Simeone and Mourinho.

@@cockoffgewgle4993 your clueless son. I’m a Bolton fan and the long ball was only used against the top 4 teams when the pressure was on. Players like okocha, djorkaeff, heirro, Nolan, Anelka don’t play long ball football all the time. At West Ham he played a diamond with Stuart downing as the playmaker. Listen to any past players of his on podcasts and they all say he was wrongly labelled. He had 5ft 5 Jermaine Defoe has a lone striker at Sunderland. Not really long ball friendly. It’s lazy journalism that gets picked up by clueless fans like you son. He played long ball when it was tactically appropriate like Ferguson did at United and mourinho does from time to time.
If you had any idea of leadership it shows how good of a leader he is that he has a proven track record of troubleshooting jobs. It’s really hard to go into any organisation and fix the problems on a tight deadline. He’s done it consistently. It shows how good he is when you can’t name one other manager that specialises in getting teams safe.

@@georgearthern2163 Oh yes, West Ham. Another big club who didn't want him because he played shit football. Why do you think these clubs only turned to him when they were at rock bottom?
He was at Sunderland less than a year, so he didn't pick his squad.
The fact he has chosen to specialise in saving teams from relegation is a mark against him, because it illustrates how shit his football is and how much he's sold out and leaned into park the bus football. A proper coach builds projects. He did that at Bolton, where he did play *some* football.
It isn't just about "long ball", the game has evolved since even Fergie. Playing out from the back is mandatory now, to some extent at least. You cannot dominate possession without playing out from the back. The GK creates and extra player so you have an extra man to pass to. Pep, Klopp, Bielsa, Tuchel etc all do this, and teams who face them usually struggle if they don't. Even Simeone's teams play out from the back at times.
But look how Allardyce talks about this evolution. Complete dismissal and a failure to understand it. It's also used to create space and draw teams out. One of his principles is to literally never play out from the back. To never play a backward pass or take a chance on the ball in your own third. That's how you end up with a third of the ball at Wembley at home to Italy or against Croatia in a WC semi-final.
Nobody wants to watch a team park the bus and play for crosses and set pieces. It's dire.

@@cockoffgewgle4993 firstly kiddo you sound like the lazy journalists from the sun. The big clubs didn’t want because of off the pitch dealings. This is common knowledge.
Your forgetting England wanted him twice and got him. They should have got him instead of mclaren. I watched Bolton every week in his era and it was more than some football son. These top tier players he got did not go there to play piggy in the middle.
Saving teams from relegation is what he chooses to do because he’s nearly 70 and he’s been successful at building projects at Bolton, Blackburn, West Ham, Notts County, Blackpool. At Bolton he had the 3rd lowest budget in the league the season they finished 5th. He’s earned the right to troubleshoot and use his high calibre leadership skills to troubleshoot. If you actually watched his teams play instead of listening to the tabloids lazy journalists you’d see he has high tactical awareness. He was the pioneer in bringing technology and sports science to the Premier League. Bolton was the first PL team to have sports analysts as part of the first team staff.
The fact he’s not scared to change things up and go more direct shows he’s able to adapt something the current England manager is unable to do.
Try watching football tutorials and transition of play videos you’ll learn a lot. I did when I studied for my UEFA B License
