The wheeled loaders and harvesters are absolutely cool looking.

Fascinating footage. As someone who's never been lucky enough to see forestry machinery in action, this is as good as it gets really.
I don't suppose anyone would know what make/model that first wheel loader/feller buncher was? Looks a bit like a Terex perhaps? If so, very rare as these were limited production machines.
Thank you for uploading and sharing, this has been fascinating to watch.

KW basically built the North American forestry machine industry. Through being bought by Timberjack and then JD, their dna is still in JD machines. Most of their engineers and fabricators moved to Tigercat when KW was bought, and now Tigercat is the best in the world.

You can see the similarity between these koehringe, which were bought by timberjack, which went to Deere. The little bump on the front of the cab and counterweight shape have been kept up until recently

It is actually a purpose built buncher. JD has been in the business of purpose built forestry equipment for decades. At that time they also had a couple of processors/harvesters, loaders, skidders and bunchers.

I like this, i wish I could like it ten times. Why are the designs not seen today?

Ooops, just seen it. It is a John Deere feller buncher. I didn't even know they had anything to do with forestry equipment apart from the more regular skidder units.

At what itime in the video does it appear?

Thanks for the prompt reply, after watching the movie again, the machine in question appears at 12:25. After skipping forwards frame by frame, there's a "643" designation but that could mean anything unless its a John Deere loader/feller buncher conversion with a Koehring Waterous cutting head?

It is. That loader is still sitting there, but has not run in some time.

Looks like the loader handling the 8 footers was filmed at the Dryden mill
