Hello Tracy and Kirsty, lovely to see you both. Congratulations to the winner. Loving the swatches, the beautiful yarn and all your beautiful projects. Have a beautiful day xxx
Another lovely podcast with great makes and WIPs. Love all the spinning content and can’t wait to see what You make with the neon yarn that you spun.👍😁🧶
Another brilliant and inspirational podcast love watching snd listening to you both Love the baby hats such a clever gadget like a huge knittig nancy all your projects amaze me every time you are such a taleted duo keep up your good work I look forward to your next podcast x
Your sampler cowl is gorgeous! Love it! Love the Whitmore sweaters and the cross stitch. Thanks for another fun episode. Always love to hang out with you ladies. 😊
You are both a joy to watch! Your enthusiasm is infections and I love how you encourage each other as well as us viewers. I am sitting and knitting a shawl as I watch, pondering giving colour work a go. I haven't gone beyond a slip stitch colourwork and now I want to. 🥰
Thanks so much Emma! Definitely have a play with more colourwork. I want to play around with some more slip stitch techniques too. Loads of wonderful possibilities 😍
I have been looking for your podcast , I was so happy to see you both . I just love all the makes , the little hats are adorable. I like cross stitch aswel , just don’t have time for it . I like that Hello pumpkin , it is so pretty 😍 The shawl is gorgeous, the Steven West shawl is going to be stunning 😍 Have a great weekend 💕
Tracy, you’re Whitmoor is gorgeous, that one is on my list for sure, the cardigan may be first. Kirsty, the colour work cowl is amazing, I would definitely be in for a colourwork KAL, you have inspired me to try and design my own. I think I also need a blending board, I just started spinning in January of 2021 and I am hooked, but you are right, I now have a yarn stash, a handspun yarn stash and a fibre stash, oh and i also have a weaving stash 😂 I would love to start sewing but can’t justify another hobby that involves stash. Thank you both for the wonderful inspiration ❤
Thank you Noelle 😊 Yay I’m so pleased we’ve inspired you to design your own colourwork, we will hopefully be starting a colourwork KAL soon. Sewing clothes as well as knitting them would be so cool but agree with you about having another hobby and another stash 🤣 ❤️
I just found your podcast! whoo hoo! I don't know where to start .... so much inspiration! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bishop sleeves on your sweater, the glitter hat, ... so much knitting content. I needed this today!
Another great episode thank you. You girls are amazing knitters and I love seeing all of your crafty goodness. Btw Tracy your not nosey your just interested. 😂😂🧶
So glad to have found your Podcast. I watched this episode while finnishing my first gauge swatch. Just started my knitting journey but so inspired by all the colourwork will defitely look at the books you featured. It's nice to watch a podcast that doesn't mention petiteknits once. Dear Kristy your cowl made of different patterns is amazing some looked like starwars spaceships.
Thanks so much Jamie! So pleased you've found us 😁 We do also knit petite knit patterns 😆 thing is they are so well written and easy to follow, I think that's why everyone is knitting them x
Was so great to see you both again! Hey, I also watched that Fruity Knitting interview and it really was amazing. I find it so cool that we have these connections across the globe. Beautiful project work as always, and the swatches you both came up with are fantastic. Thanks for sharing that we can go out of our comfort zones and just try something new, use a pattern we've already worked up, and add our own spin on it (no pun intended, unless you're using handspun!). Loved the blended fiber and handspun that you shared, Kirsty! (I still have to ply the singles of the small braid and rolag I received from you!!!) Keep cool, be well, and see you both next time!!
Totally enabling on this episode!! I just went and bought the Every Which Way Cowl because I thought it would be amazing with a solid colour and some handspun for the contrast. Thanks for keeping me company this afternoon 😊
I lay back on my bed and spin with my Ashford espinner too! I'm disabled so it's much easier for me. I also use my electric ball winder from bed ☺ I've just finished the Autumn Doodle Cowl. It was a really lovely project!
Love that you can use the ball winder from bed too! I'm really tempted to cast on an autumn doodler or just play with alterknit book 🤔 I can't decide 😂
I just love your podcast ladies! You both have such talent. What a treat to see Kirsty's design process from paper to swatch. Very inspiring! 🥰 I look forward to many more episodes.
Loved seeing the podcast. I’ve not tried duplicate stitch yet but now I’m thinking of making mug rugs with seasonal images. Thanks for the inspiration. I’ve only tried Intarsia once and figured out pretty quickly it was a bit fiddly with so many bobbins. Hope you both have a great couple of weeks.
I have done several MKAL’s. No Steven West’s yet. He has a lot more knitting and more complex patterns than the ones I’ve done. I really enjoy the mystery aspect of them and have pulled from stash for 4 and bought just one kit so far!
I have 3 grandkids named Lemon Plum and Peach and I have been trying to design my own colorwork for these to make a sweater for Dad. I need this book! Strange Brew by Tin Can Knits is an excellent book for plugging in your own colorwork.
What fun names! And making a colourwork design including all 3 would be amazing! 😍 I do have the strange brew ebook. Really must give it a go. I did use it for a hat, which worked great ❤️
Oh my, those color work doodles are amazing, Kirsty! I'm absolutely awed by your creativity and really love that you shared your creative process. Also the cranked baby hats are a great idea! Thanks for the inspiring episode, ladies!
Another great episode. Loved seeing your design process and the swatches Kirsty. Your colour work sampler was amazing. Tracey I loved the hallowe’en duplicate stitch that you did and your Whitmore sweater is beautiful.
I'm so jealous of your weather! I live in Miami, FL so it never gets below 60 F. I can't wait to move back somewhere cold. I just started the autumn doodle cowl to make as a gift for someone in my family and it's so much fun. And the books you mentioned look like a great addition to a knitting library. Can't wait to watch the next episode.
Thanks so much Kimberly! Miami looks beautiful from what I've seen of it on TV 😍 I don't think I would be able to handle the heat all the time! But being as I'm British I'll be complaining about the cold soon enough too 😂☔❄️
Loved the swatches and the info on duplicate stitch and intarsia. I see it on patterns and in books often and always think it looks good but too complicated. Your examples made it seem much more doable. Thanks for the tips!
Thank you! 😁 So pleased to hear that it's made these techniques seem doable. They are so much fun and give lots of opportunities to just play with colour and stitches.
You guys are amazing, and I couldn't wait to get home to watch this! I really, really love your "LOVE" crocheted square and the amazing cowl design by Kirsty. I am really blown away by your creativity - will you release this Cowl pattern? Please consider it as I would so love to have it!! Tracy's cardigan is also coming along nicely as is all the spinning. I am also so impressed with your swatches and drawings - starting with the tomatoe! How creative and inspiring!! Hugs from Texas to you both!! Also, my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beautiful Queen - I adored her!
Thank you so much and big hugs to you too! I may draw up the charts and instructions at some point as a free pattern. But I have no idea how to start or go about it right now 🤣
Make sure you use a colour catcher when you block your Shawlography Shawl. I did mine in hand died yarn and it bled. I still love it, but I learned for next time.
omgosh! I just got to the duplicate stitch section! I just designed a pair of socks that has duplicate stitch on it! I feel very affirmed about it after this. I've been nervous about it.
We’ll I’ve now watched all of your episodes and have loved each and everyone! You two ladies have contributed to an enormous “TBK” list! I do have two questions though- we’re you friends before you were sisters in law? As well, I have bought myself a drop spindle and would like to learn how to use it and was wondering if there is a tutorial you recommend or how you learned to drop spindle?
Thank you for watching 😊 We didn’t know each other before becoming sister in laws 😃and the trick is to just watch all the videos you can on TH-cam, everyone is different I watched so many and learnt something interesting from all of them 😊
Ah Thank you! Yes, place stitch marker and join in the round. Provisional cast on is best with a kitchener join at the end, but can always do any cast on and sew it together at the end. Or keep it a long tube 😁 so fun!
I came across a cute crochet cardigan tonight on Ravelry and thought of you ladies. It is Ariana by Amy Christofers. Not that you need pattern suggestions because if you’re like me you have a queue that goes on forever, just thought I’d share! 😊
I see you have the ikea peg board. Can you tell me which accessories you love and what you consider useless. I know it is not knitting, but I would love the advice. Thanks
Thanks Claire! 😁 I believe Tracy did use the needles called for in the pattern and the handspun was a light fingering weight in a 2ply. The 3 yarns together made a dense, extra warm fabric but didn't change the fit.
@@woolandwishes thank you 😊 i love how well your handspun colours worked with the cosmos&kidsilk kirsty lovely handspun really enjoying your podcast too so glad I came upon it x
@@clairefenwick2115 Hi Claire, I think I did 5 inches of stocking stitch then started decreasing, but it’s best to keep trying it on to see how you prefer the fit on you 😊 hope that helps x
