Just wanted to clarify, that Slade line I said IS a cut line, but since he was originally intended to say it, it helped to support that Origins is canon. Apologies for the little mistake there.
He said it In the french version tho, i remember when i was playing
Did you know that there is a fifth arkham game, not thw vr one, but one who was only on ps vita and 3Ds. It is called Batman arkham origin blackgate and it is honestly a bad game. The worst arkham game ever.
I swear that I heard the line in the game
@ziid I used to love that game.
Before I played an actual Arkham game.
@@reecebaker9603 yeah same.
Arkham Origins is definitely canon and despite some inconsistencies in the story the world of the Arkham games only benefitts from having Origins be part of it. The only issue is that something in Arkham Knight it is stated through thug dialogue that the events of Origins happened only 10 (not 8) years prior which is too little of a time frame. The line which Deathstroke says it's been 8 years was cut from the game and in the game he actually says "I've waited years for this rematch." 10 years isn't long enough for Batman to be as established as he is in Asylum, City and Knight which is why many prefer to headcanon that it's been about 17-18 instead which works much better.
I watched a channel called suggestive gaming and it did a summary on the arkham universe comics included and they said that the whole thing is closer to 12 years but considering by arkham knight all three Robin's are grown ups it make more sense for it to he closer to 20 years since if it's 12 it means batman trained each Robin plus Batgirl on average for 3 years which is not enough time considering Jason was kidnapped before asylum and released in city according to the comics which means asylum and city took place 1 year apart and then you have origins that take place in batman's second year,so yeah the games definitely have alot less time between them but it's better to follow the headcanon that they all have atleast 3 years apart from each other except for origins that should be atleast 10 years before asylum
@@akramnasralla750 The Arkham comics are not really cannon to the games. For example in the comics the Arkham Knight kills Bane but in Arkham Knight it's explained that Bane went back to reclaim Santa Prisca. Also the way Jason meets Batman in the comics is completely different than what is written in Jason's character bio and that's just two examples.
@The_Phantasm now that you mention it Jason kills alot of people in the comics that end up showing up later which means the 12 years mentioned in the comics aren't Canon, another example is that the comics mention that batman sneaked into arkham city before the game started to collect info on the joker and the other crime bosses but in the game he has zero info on them and has to relay on interrogations and police radios to know where everyone is
10 years doesn't seem like a lot of time, but it is.
People who says Arkham Origins isn’t a canon y’all making dumb excuses
I mean, i can believe 8 years...look how much happened in just one night!
You got a point!
Lol
For me, the issue is training a bunch of Robins and fighting crime alongside them for a while in only 8 years
@@BrandonSerafim00 yeah he’s had 3 robins by the time of Arkham city even and usually he has Dick for about 10 years than Jason for like 0-2 which is already 12 years from city
@@Light_assassin27in the comics he had Jason for like 6-8 years he goes from a kid to a late teen
Bro go to the evidence locker. Anarky, Electrocutioner, all the origins exclusive villains are there. AND they reference the night of the Blackgate riots constantly
Did you not watch the video.
There is also a thug conversation where a thug wonders what happened to Anarky.
its in the video my guy tf 😂
@@maxm.m.7219
“Anybody know where that Anarchy guy went? Kid woulda loved this”
You can also see pioneers bridge and Gotham North in the background next to Arkham City, further cementing Arkham Origins into the canon
Kinda wish that the return to Arkham collection added in those places from Origins and Knight into the background of the city. It would’ve made everything more cohesive and canonical.
@@lolalona7130my 1. Reason I want a remake
I thought Gotham North *was* Arkham City
Also thwcfact that well part of origins map is in arkham city
You can also hear random thugs say "Anarky would love this."
Why would anyone think otherwise?
Because it’s not part of the official Arkham trilogy would be my guess. I also heard some stuff with Harley’s continuity doesn’t exactly line up with what was shown in Asylum though I haven’t played the game yet to see for myself.
@@hyperboi4077 It is referenced in arkham knight, meaning it is part of the arkhamverse
@@hyperboi4077 it definetely is canon to the larger arkhamverse.
It’s probably because a lot of people call it the Arkham Trilogy. You can’t have a trilogy with four instalments.
@@LetMeBe3 i believe it would be called a tetralogy, if talking about all four games.
You’ll even find the Electrocutioner’s shock gloves in the evidence room
Before anybody wants to argue that "Slade said their fight took place 8 years ago so it must have been 8 years" the line was cut from the game so it doesnt really count
it wasn't cut it's in the game i saw it every time replaying it
@@user-yv6lf5yd3m well in another short gotham paladin said it was cut and i believe him on that

Don’t forget slade Wilson’s suit is just like origins
Hate to break it to you but that's how he always looks.
@@kendi5391If you’re saying as way to prove that Arkham Origins isn’t canon, I’m sorry, but the everything else says otherwise.
@@JustinlxL I'm not. I didn't like it but I ain't trying to prove anything
@@kendi5391 Okay, that’s fine.
@@kendi5391how did you not like it😭 just because Kevin Conroy isn’t the voice 🤦🏼♂️ that’s the only reason because anyone with a brain KNOWS that Origins is better than Asylum and City. By far.
It’s called Arkham Origins for a reason
The thugs also always brings up Blackgate. Also what moron said it wasn’t canon. It’s literally canon but it’s just not made by Rocksteady.
It’s not part of the rocksteady trilogy but it is absolutely canon to the arkham story. Being referenced in Arkham Knight. And it’s also underrated.
8 years from orgins to asylum and 15 years from initiation to knight
5 years from origins to asylum
Slade even said “you had that fire in you, do you still have it”
I still cannot believe how badly they nerfed Slade in Knight.
Biggest piece of dog- I mean disappointment 😔
They nerfed literally everyone in the game except Croc and Albert King.
The only characters that have real boss fights.
origins is my favorite game out of the four actually, and I thought this was obvious!
And slade mentions the bounty
Which in origins joker/disguised black mask, set up a $50 million bounty on the bats head
People thought it wasn't? It barely retcons anything and fits really well into the timeline
Not to mention, you also have the Electrocutioners gauntlets in the GCPD evidence lockup with Cash saying in a recording, "Batman used these for time.."
The only real reason people don't consider Origins to be Arkhamverse is because it's not made by the same people (which is a stupid reason, obviously).
a bunch of the random thugs will also reference anarky from origins in random radio chatter
Where's that kid Anarky.. he would love this (somethin like that)
Batman went through 3 robins and a disabled batgirl in 8 years
Your right he’s been Batman for 14 years
Made by a different company
@@willbaker6532 no rockstar was working on Arkham origins but they decided to give it to wb games montrael bc of the 2 year time span so if origins was made by rocksteady then it would have come out in 2015 and Arkham knight 2018
@@thebat909 I love how WB gave a series originally made by ROCKstar to ROCKsteady
more like 22 years all his history couldn’t have happened in just 14 years
@@martinchatz7346Arkham origins was before asylum that took 9 years then 3 years after asylum was arkham city and then knight
How did he have time to raise Jason, dick and Tim in just 8 years
I think all three were in their late teens when Batman recruited them
The 8 years line was cut. It was actually 10 years ago in the Arkham timeline, that means Bruce had been Batman for 12 years.
I think one of the firefighters states that the Firefly incident on the bridge in Origins was 10 years earlier
You can literally see a part of origins map stapled right there in the he background
Also one of the thugs in free roam will say hes been In Blackgate Asylum and city and has never seen batman and blackgate also another thug will sya his favorite riot was blackgate and blackgate is the prison centered around Origins
Still can’t get over the fact Batman took on a whole army by himself and won in one night without killing anyone
Completely agree about the time
8 years is way to short especially since he’s had Dick Grayson, Jason Todd and now a college aged Tim Drake as Robins with Dick and Jason also now having taken up their next identities
I agree 15 years would have been better
And if Batman was 25 in Origins then he’d be 40 in Knight
Arkham Knight Batman has only been Batman for about 12 years. I agree though, it’s too short
It's always the Batman fandom and not actually checking for facts. Ending of The Killing Joke is a great example.
Its 10 years
When you think about it.. it makes perfect sense..origins was the perfect prequel. Like the perfect introduction to the rivalry of joker and batman and joker becoming slowly obsessed with him knowing his moral code and having a "bad day" as red hood.. which perfectly leads to asylum and city.. also perfect sense of why bane lost his memory and he is so big in asylum and city due to TN-1. Also in the credits of Arkham origins it has Quincy sharp saying that he has built an asylum and that blackgate is not safe anymore.. and so much more that indicates it's the perfect prequel story
I’d say it’s 10 years before Origins and Knight. If you save one of the firefighters in the game, he will mention how Firefly hasn’t been seen for 10 years
You also hear a random thug say “Anyone see that Anarchy guy? That kid would love this.”
Origins took place during Bruce's second year as batman, and Knight took place 10 years later
It’s funny how many batmen don’t make it past a decade of crusading
Orgins took place in 2004 knight takes place in 2018 not to also mention they say batman is batman for 2 years in orgins. So he has been batman for 16 years in knight
One of the militia commanders when slade is in charge actually recall the events of arkham origins. They were even confused if the joker was the guy who was controlling or black mask. They were also referencing slade a bunch of times, they were talking about why slade wants to kill batman and how he got his ass beat.
They need to add it to the return to arkham collection
Fr. I am dying to play Arkham origins but I’d have to get a physical copy which is harder than heck. I also feel like that game should definitely get a remaster anyways considering all but knight got a remaster.
Rocksteady can't sell or distribute Origins, they didn't make it.
It’s on PlayStation premium I believe
@@hyperboi4077My local gaming store has no less than eight copies of Origins, maybe you'd be able to find it online somewhere?
i don’t know how people wouldn’t think origins is canon, but your idea of it taking 15 years before is just fkn crazy man
Batman only being Batman for 8 years doesn’t make sense
I never tell people this but I kinda sorta like Arkham origins more than city and asylum
ME TOO 🤝🤝🤝
also when you go to electrocutioners evidence display it says batman used the gloves
Bro people that say arkham origins isn't apart of the arkham universe are missing some brain cells....
People say it isnt cannon because it was made by another studio. But it's definitely canon.
GP: "Batman Arkham Origins is Canon the characters say so, look:
Slade: "Batman, I've been waiting 8 years for this"
GP: "Most people say it's only 8 years which isn't long enough, I'd say it's more like 15 years"
8 years line was cut.
Yea good points, but the most dead giveaway is the name ARKHAM in the title
Yeah. I think main reason people went to denial and don't wanna believe that is because the game is not made by Rocksteady.
It's like saying Max Payne 3 is not the continuation of Max Payne 1 & 2 because it's not made by Remedy.
I'm not totally sure about this but in Arkham Asylum, Joker mentions something about a fire at blackgate. There was a fire at blackgate in Arkham Origins at the end of the game. And Joker was present there.
If you look at the other island next to arkham city you also see the hotel from that one mission in origins where joker throws the electrocutioner out the window.
I love origins but I dont like the implication that Batman’s not seen deathstroke or firefly since, maybe him not seeing deathstroke is fine because he’s busy elsewhere and was originally a teen titans villain so more of nightwings problem but where has firefly been since
Firefly and Batman kept being enemies, but Firefly got annhilated on that bridge. He got that BatPTSD
People really thought this? Wow that's... pretty dumb.
Isn’t Origins year 2 and Asylum Year 12? Meaning that it’s a near 12 year gap?
I have always considered origins to be canon
It’s mostly because city was made before orgins and somethings don’t add up. Like joker in city had a different origin with penguin
Bro 😭 death stroke blainyly says 8
It was cut.
I thought everyone knew this since origins is young batman
It's something that marvel stands use as a argument so that way their beloved characters would always win because they know Arkham Batman is an absolute demon
Yes Origins is connected to the Arkham trilogy the only reason they say its "not" is that RockSteady didn't make it so they dont consider it canon thats why it has never gotten a remaster to this day only its backwards with the Xbox one and Series X on disk only
Honestly if it was counted as non canon I would be gutted I love Arkham Origins
Well now you’ll be even more gutted with suicide squad kills the Justice league.
@venjustice6666 I know it's actual terrible
@@jacksonh133 they need to remaster Arkham Origins and remaster the cold cold heart dlc and they should remaster Arkham origins blackgate not remaster as a 2d game but they should remaster it with the updated graphics and make it a dlc kinda like how Arkham knight does as it has stories of their own because of the time skips and they should update Arkham Knight with an unreal engine 5 update because Arkham Knight don’t really need a remaster just a graphical update even though that’s technically what a remaster is but that’ll still be cool and we should be able to free roam blackgate when we complete it aswell like post game dlc so it feels like 2 main games remastered into one
I loved the firefly fight from origins
I thought Origins took place 8 years before Asylum, not Knight. Batman had been active for 2 years at the start of Origins so by Asylum, he's been at it for 10 years
no as slade said in arkham knight he was waiting for 8 years and asylum was like 2 years before knight
@@user-yv6lf5yd3m yeah but Slade's "8" line was cut from the game. Firefly and some NPC thugs said the AO bridge fight was 10 years ago. Add that to the 2 years mentioned at the start of AO and thats corrects my og math at aprrox 12 years 😆
ALSO u can see the map of Arkham Origins off in the distance, like the hotel and tv tower
Firefly also says tries to say that he's only had 2 fights with batman even though arkham origins says the fought plenty over the years
The one problem is the grapel ex celebrator which wasn’t a thing until you completed the Wayne challenges in Arkham city
Dude anarchy literally has gear in the evidence room. Coincidence.......I think not
Arkham origins was more of a flashback to how it all started for him, you know when people say you die you see your life speed up all the way up until the point where you die and in Arkham knight he “dies” so yeah if that makes sense☕️☕️
it’s definitely way more than 8 years. It’s atleast eleven to twelve years at the very least.
They literally have the same map as arkham city.
That’s wrong
@@alexx316it does.
Technically speaking, Batman could’ve evolved into The Batman Who Laughs here…
it makes since that its 15 years. It gives back enough time to meet the other robins. I feel 8 years is too short.
I love how origins is a prequel I love the thought of a young aggressive unhinged Batman and the difference voice actors were so amazing due to the young age but the 8 YEARS?!? NAH bro its gotta be like 15
14, the slade line was cut from the final game
@@alexx316 oh okay!! Awesome
@@alexx316 I also hate how city and and knight are only 9 months apart... Like bro what it feels wayyy longer
If only Slade upped his skills instead of practicing to drive tanks in those 8 years.
Can't wait to play these games on my switch. Wheb it's releasing in October
Something I find cool that not really important but the voice actor for origins batman is the same actor for Ezio auditore from assassins creed for those who didn’t know
That’s because it came out 2 years later and he was Batman 2 years before origins so more like 10 years
i think the voice of batman in origins was the best
i mean i love conroy he was iconic may he rest in peace
but i really liked smiths voice though it was deep and scary
I agree that 8 years is too short, Batman had time to adopt Dick, who aged enough to become Nightwing AND Jason who aged too and then Tim… 8 years is too short
Something that doesn't convince me is the tone because in Asylum, City, Knight has a tone that is more attached to the comics, however in Origins the tone is more serious and realistic and it is also a very short time, 8 years because the characters look much older. for example the joker
You can literally find anarchy's equipment in the evidence room😂🤦🏽♂️
Yeah orgins shows off a young Batman and young Joker
Also if you look past the Arkham City remains you can see the hotel Batman saved Joker at
I'm surprised anyone thinks it isn't canon I'd understand if it's title was simply Batman Origins or Batman Year Zero but it's literally Batman ARKHAM Origins.
Some people need to learn to read lol 😂😂😂
Not saying it isn't canon just feels weird how Batman wore full body armour, then decided to wear a skin tight Batsuit with big bat ears and outside underwear just to wear full body armour again but keep the big ears
According to youtube...this batman lasted as a vigilante for only 12-10 years.
If you look closely enough in the distance behind the Arkham City view, you can see the Gotham Pioneer Bridge, as well as the Gotham Royal Hotel and a small glimpse of the Mendo Soap building.
& once you get to one of Deathstroke watchtowers at the very end, you will hear the militia thugs talk about his encounter with Batman.
Also theres tons of Activist tags all over the city, even a thug mentions Anarky and his jacket is in the evidence room.
If you click on Black Mask's stuff in the evidence room, Cash will explain what happened to him in Origins.
Hell, they even have THE DARK KNIGHT SUIT FROM ARKHAM ORIGINS. (the early years)
How come everyone calls Deathstroke slade? Isn't it kinda like calling Killer Croc Waylon?
You can also hear some thugs talking about how Anarky would love Gotham when it got evacuated
Why are people in denial?
yep, and you can literally see the city of origins in the background skyline
I love how people are saying it isn’t canon when Deathstroke is literally wearing the same exact suit in AK.
Not to mention anarkay getting referenced alot.
I really want a another real fight with Deadstroke and not that we have in AK
i kinda wanted origins to be an alternate universe so they can continue the arkhamverse with batman
and this is why origins was the best game out of all four, it’s story was amazing, a young B-man taking on 8 assassins one by one, making and learning from his rage filled mistakes, and seeing him basically be a Bat devil to all the criminals. He literally held Loose Lips by one leg off a 20 foot building and dropped him just for information on WHERE the penguin is. He knew what he was doing because the Christmas tree broke Loose Lips’ fall, but still scary when you think about all of it
I can assure you that it is NOT the best one.
@@wiggard it is tho
8 years it good
Its got to be around 15 years asylum had to be around nine years before
Yeah Batman gotta be like 50 yrs old in the Arkham Knight and like 30 in Arkham Origins
He's 28 in Origins
