yeah he was obviously on fire this night. nothing i enjoy more than elliott in tip top form. i have seen that gig with memory lane you are talking about. its so hard to see him like that. he couldnt even remember the lyrics to songs like angeles. heart breaking.
I should clarify. I mean that on youtube, not many of his live performances are very good. I'm aware youtube only covers a certain period of an artist's career, and it doesn't necessarily reflect the artist accurately. There is SOOOOOO much Ben Folds stuff outside of youtube that has given me a new appreciation for him. However, purely in the context of youtube videos, good Elliott Smith performances are sadly rare in my experience.
