Big Radiohead fan, and this is one of my favourite songs to hear be covered. I think it's a great judge of someone's voice and artistic interpretation and I think she does a lovely job of it.
i really hate people who sing other singers songs and make them sound like crap but Ingrid doesn't copy it she actually puts her feeling into it making it sound so different Ingrid is amazing
The best cover of this song by a woman is by Tori Amos. I feel it to my core when she sings it. I'm not feeling this one. Being a cover, it is left to the artist's interpretation, but there is a feeling behind it which has to be conveyed, and I don't find this believable at all. There's an emotional disconnect, like she has no idea what this could ever feel like.
Oh my goodness gracious this is simply enchanting, and you gave me chills... you've the voice of an angel my dear... bless your heart forever plus a day for that... ✊✌💘🙏
Saw her in Austin years ago when she was just starting to cover Creep live, she just broke out a ukulele and started to play I was amazing. And she wouldn't say "you're so fucking special" until the last verse which made it so much more powerful and emotional. One of my favorite moments at a live show ever.
Why are so many people writing negative comments?! This is AMAZING! There are HEAPS of Creep Covers on TH-cam, but this one by Ingrid Michaelson seems to be the one that everyone is choosing for Dance Routines. This is an amazing song...Better then Radiohead's Version (I think).
What makes an artist is the ability to evoke the emotional theme of a song to the listener. What makes a great artist is the ability to do that in an original and compelling way that may make the listener feel something new in a song they've heard many times before. I think Ingrid has done that here.
When you were here before I couldn't look you in the eye You're just like an angel Your skin makes me cry You float like a feather In a beautiful world You think you're so special I wish that I was special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am i doing here? No, I don't belong here And I don't care if it hurts Cause' I want to have control (Oh)I want a perfect body And I want a perfect soul I want you to notice when i'm not around When i'm not around You think you're so special And I wish that I was special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell i'm doing here? No, I don't belong here Whatever makes you happy Whatever you want Whatever you want You think you're so special Well, I wish that I was special Cause' I'm a creep I'm and I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? (Oh, no) I don't belong here I don't belong here I took my time to change the parts that she changed. I really love her voice and everything about her ♥️
A few weeks ago I went on a date with a man that saw me through rose colored glasses. That night at his place he decided to take out his uke to sing to me. It was 4am & I was ready to go home after listening to his many covers of songs I didnt know. Then he played this; something I knew & loved. I saw his soul that night & I will never forget him or the voice that came out of the most unsuspecting body. This song always makes me smile because of him where ever he is. I met an angel that night.
Both are great because they sing the song and there's purpose. It's art. either way it's still right. I don't understand why people have to constantly hate on singers/actors/painters.. artist. Like really? They are out there trying. Living for their art and people like you are like.. No. Like seriously appreciate beauty in things.
This choice reflects the power of the lyrics and that everyone has been an: outcast, longed for something or longed for someone outside of their grasp at one point in time.
I saw her perform this live in Chicago last year when she was touring with Keane. It was unbelievable. She sounds this flawless live, I swear. She is a rare treasure to the music world.
I love her version of this song. I think it connected with me a lot more than the original. Not that I don't like the original or anything. I feel they both brought their own thing to the song and I love them both.
@fdsdarkgrunt Shes not implying that she is a creep. Just because she is acknowledging the beauty of the song by covering it doesn't make her a creep. She is just singing it. Because she sings it doesn't make her a creep.
I like this almost as much as the original. The little tweaks to the lyrics actually provide a twist to the interpretation, instead of sounding like forced censorship.
I at first thought that her voice was to perfect for this song... I am so glad that I had stuck around... her voice captures it's essence perfectly!!! Repeat, again;)
Wow. I wouldn't have thought she would have been able to do this song justice, because it's dark and broody, but she does and I enjoy it. I've come to realise she could cover any song and it would be good.
This is the only version of creep I can sing along to. I get all pitchy trying to sing the Radiohead version because my voice isn't as awesomely manly as Thom Yorke's. Thanks Ingrid :)
I really really like this cover, it's not the original but it's her own artistic version, don't hate because you don't think it doesn't have the same intensity as the original. It's her own melow typed version of this song, in my opinion it's beautiful.
everyone can feel like a 'creep' at times, however unlikely it may seem, im sure this song is universally relevant to everyone, and she has done a beautiful cover on i song i previously believed could never be 'covered' with any success
She was connecting personally with the song, and the quirky rhythms were genuine, not forced. Ingrid Michaelson does seem like a bit of a "weirdo" (not necessarily in a negative way!) and she was communicating it well. People need to get over their prejudices of what the song SHOULD sound like. She's just a very different type of weirdo than Radiohead, so of course her rendition will sound different.
This version sounds much more bitter than radioheads lovely melancholy rendition and for that reason it reflects my heart in an ardently dismal fashion.
@MarkWF5485 Haha yes he did & I sure will if I see him. He sang his heart out too...seconds after saying he was very self conscious about his voice. It was amazing.
@musicAL722 I feel the same way about Rachael Yamagata. She performs immaculately live, even with a terrible cold. If you have not had the pleasure of finding her music, go find it now. Cheers :)
I think people have misread what she tried to do with this song. Yes, originally the song is sad, but she took it, to change it, and make it an encouragement. That's my opinion.
She kills me with her voice... it is so beautiful
Big Radiohead fan, and this is one of my favourite songs to hear be covered. I think it's a great judge of someone's voice and artistic interpretation and I think she does a lovely job of it.
Yeah, me too. Interesting version but Thom's will never be surpassed.
i really hate people who sing other singers songs and make them sound like crap but Ingrid doesn't copy it she actually puts her feeling into it making it sound so different Ingrid is amazing
This is my favorite Radiohead song. I do believe Ingrid Michaelson has made it even better!! She is amazing!!
It's just a song until you actually experience it
tylerwhoitbe Experience it? I live it haha... Truly /:

I cannot get over her talent. she can literally cover any song and make it pure gold.
Oh my goodness gracious this is simply enchanting, and you gave me chills... you've the voice of an angel my dear... bless your heart forever plus a day for that... ✊✌💘🙏

I love creep covers. It shows people are united in their isolation. No one is ever truly alone.

I took my time to change the parts that she changed. I really love her voice and everything about her ♥️
OMG, beeessttt version of this song EVER.
I absolutely love Radiohead but Ingrid Michaelson definitely made it her own.
Oh! Ingrid! You are the angel! I can't stop listening your angel voice and admire your beauty!
Hot damn, this has to do on the list of best covers, not just of Creep, over all! bravo
I discovered her for the first time on Conan!
Gotta love her voice! So much talent!

I've been listening to this song non-stop all day. Ingrid is permanently engraved into my soul...
Shes none of those things. She is amazing. She has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard.

i love radiohead. i love ingrid michaelson. together it's friggin UNREAL!!
I saw her perform this live in Chicago last year when she was touring with Keane. It was unbelievable. She sounds this flawless live, I swear. She is a rare treasure to the music world.
Her voice could carry me away, just so angelic and soulful, and with such beauty to mach:)
God, I have felt that way so many times.
Thank you Radiohead and thank you Ingrid Michaelson for the beautiful interpretation.
I didn't think it was possible for me to love this song any more than I already did, but then I heard her cover. Absolutely amazing.
I love her version of this song. I think it connected with me a lot more than the original. Not that I don't like the original or anything. I feel they both brought their own thing to the song and I love them both.

Just felt in love with this cover! :)
I think every aspect of this is simply beautiful.
Wow Ingrid really jammed this one out what a great soulfully Beautiful job Babes!!!
This is great. Her voice gives me chills.
I like this almost as much as the original. The little tweaks to the lyrics actually provide a twist to the interpretation, instead of sounding like forced censorship.
this son is so heartbreaking
if only "heart breaking" could describe how it feels...
How is it that I'm barely hearing this now? Absolutely amazing.
I at first thought that her voice was to perfect for this song... I am so glad that I had stuck around... her voice captures it's essence perfectly!!! Repeat, again;)
she makes it sounds effortless to sound angelic.
Wow. I wouldn't have thought she would have been able to do this song justice, because it's dark and broody, but she does and I enjoy it. I've come to realise she could cover any song and it would be good.
Loved it when I saw her perform this live!
This seriously made my night

omg my favourite band being covered by my favourite female singer!!! :)
Ingrid Michaelson covering Radiohead? Perfection.
She was connecting personally with the song, and the quirky rhythms were genuine, not forced. Ingrid Michaelson does seem like a bit of a "weirdo" (not necessarily in a negative way!) and she was communicating it well. it's called expression in the voice, and she does it so beautifully and powerfully. x

I'm high as shit and the deepness of the song and the explanation of the interpretation of the original and the cover is beautiful.
She´s a great musician!!! A genius!
This breaks my heart.. She is incredible.
very creative! great job!!!
she is simply amazing.
I don't like the original song. I love the lyrics but not the sound. This cover has to be one of the best I've heard of it.
What??? I like Eliza Doolittle but that was an awful cover
The only real version is Radiohead's. Sorry, I love Ingrid and want to have her children but Radiohead cannot be outdone.
i relate my dude
i relate my dude
i relate my dude
Is it just my imagination or does her voice sound like Phil and Lil from Rugrats?
Such a cute voice!
ya luv this version soo much!
This is just amazing. :3 Completely renewed the song for me
I love it
Just saw her sing this at the Greek Theater in LA. Best song of the entire concert. Pretty amazing considering it's just a ukulele and her voice...
i love this nearly as much as i love the original, it's almost like it's sad in a different way
i love that she does covers ^_^
You have a most awsome voice.

Absolutely love most of it. I don't really like the opera-esque bit but they rest is lovely.
beautiful. love it
When the Bible refers to a choir of angels, it really means a song in which Ingrid has recorded all the voice parts herself.
@musicAL722 I feel the same way about Rachael Yamagata. She performs immaculately live, even with a terrible cold. If you have not had the pleasure of finding her music, go find it now. Cheers :)
i envy her voice... so unique.
You killed the rock, but you give a better voice, love it (:
best version i've ever heard :o :D !
@rabidbunnies2 ...Um no she dosnt...Ingrid sounds like an angel :D
I think people have misread what she tried to do with this song. Yes, originally the song is sad, but she took it, to change it, and make it an encouragement. That's my opinion.
love it
This is WAY better than the original!
