I fly Southwest because 2 bags fly free plus you can take a carry on and a purse/backpack. I'm a plus size beauty too that needs all of her essentials from home
Yes! Thank you for mentioning this! In Houston, Southwest only flys out of one airport which is a hour and a half from my house. I forgot all about Southwest, because I refuse to go to that other airport 😂 It’s a whole mess over there!!!

Southwest also has customer of size policy. You can either buy an extra seat, or ask for one once you arrive at the airport. If you purchase the extra seat, it is fully refundable once your trip is complete. Details on the website on how to use this. I used it over Veterans Day weekend and it was easy.
Great tip! I love Southwest and when they have sales it's the best! One tip I have is if you know when and where you're going to travel, and Southwest is your carrier of choice, then book the flight the earliest you know. I opt for the emails, and when there's a sale, I check the flight I booked already. If there is a difference, I cancel the old, and book the new one. This way I can use the credit for the "old" flight for the new one and if there's any left, there is a voucher for the next flight. I've called during sales and they have given me vouchers for the difference in flight rate when I previously booked the flight and it's cheaper during a sale. When I go for a new trip, I use the credit from the old one to pay for part of the fee for a new one. All this and accrual of points as well! Win-Win!
I about cried when your tips included checking bags and taking full-size products with you. You're literally the first person of any size who has ever said that and it felt like a breath of fresh air. I have been doing this for years yet felt strangely guilty because it seems that I'm the only one who travels that way. I've been trying to condense, pack less, etc but even with all the amazing tips from dozens of travelers, influencers, vloggers, etc I have never found myself able to pack carry on only. Thanks for "giving me permission" so to speak to continue doing what I do and to be proud of it.

The Dutch Airline KLM is fantastic for plus size passengers by the way. The Dutch are generally very tall, so the seats are much more spacious and the baggage allowance is higher. ❤

You are absolutely right about plus size travel considerations. I used to be frustrated that I couldn't pack all my things in a carry on like the travel TH-camrs until I realized it's because my clothing is much larger and takes up more space. It's sad that travel cost us substantially more because we are plus size

Planning your outfits in advance is great to help you PACK LESS, instead of just throwing a bunch of mix and match in there. The tip for asking for the extender on the way in is super helpful, thank you!

Try merino wool for travel. Lighter articles of clothing that allow layers instead of bulky sweaters and jackets. Unless you just like bulky items. Im a solid 2X and 270 pounds. I travel carry on only.

To weigh your suitcase, you could also weigh yourself and then weigh yourself holding the suitcase then subtract the difference. The scale specifically for suitcases is more convenient especially in the way back home.
Great tips!! Also, can ship/mail your luggage ahead or use a luggage service that will deliver for you. You can decide to travel lights and do all your shopping there too. Re upgrading seats, you can get free upgrades with some credit cards like American Express. Shoe covers are a great tip!! Pre-packing and staying ready makes travel prep stress free.
Thanks for the traveling tips. A lot of these tips I do, especially trying on and unpacking when you get to your destination. There's nothing worst than bringing an outfit and it does fit right. The thing about traveling is being organized ahead of time which makes your trip less stressful. 🙂

Check to see if your credit cards offset the fees, especially the premium cards.
I use to think packing in a carry-on was for thin or smaller people but I found out plus size people can travel light pack in carry-on only. I went to Greece for 14 days in early June 2022 packed in a carry-on only it was warm I was able to pack 10 bottoms, 11 tops and, 3 pairs pajamas, all my underwear, toiletries, makeup, hair care in that plus a personal tote bag I'm a size 16 so definitely doable definitely upgrade those seats makes a world of difference for international flights especially so much more comfortable great tips. Yes! I love that Lisa! We didn’t vlog the trip, but we stayed in the Conrad hotel! It was perfect & we are definitely going to only stay there from now on.

These were excellent tips, Ashley!!! When I pack, I write out a list from head to toe, on the items I’ve packed. I put two check boxes next to each item and check them off as I put them in the bag. I use the same list when it’s time to repack and check the second box so I don’t forget anything.
Love you but you got that rich auntie money because I can’t do first class and paid for checked baggage but I got all the children so I’m buying a handful of tickets every time.

I always ask for the seatbelt extension on the first pass... I can't stand the flight attendants that say "I'll bring it to you!" Can't you see the embarrassment on my face?! Give me the darn thing now!!
The only thing I'd say is becareful with purchasing your own seat belt extender. Some airlines don't allow them, for safety reasons.

Oh yes, first class is the way. I know better once I'm on a flight for several hours I don't want to get off a flight so uncomfortable and in pain ready to cuss someone out. So first class is the way.

Girl ,this is a thing. I'm commenting 1 minute in. I have worn a size 11 shoe since I was 11. These "Lebens" take up space! It's so hard to pack in just a carrying on for a 4 day trip when you need shoe with options. And yes these 16s, XL, and XXLs fold and roll up larger. Even when I was a 12/14 it was hard because I'm also tall so that's extra fabric too. Ugh. Ok let me finish watching. LOL. I have a trip coming up and I'm really trying to figure out how to make it work with a carry on and back pack. I might as well give up.

Flew me and my children to Hawaii for vacation last year. Flew United. Upgraded. I WILL ALWAYS FLY UPGRADED. It was my first time I did it girl best money I spent.

Hey again forgot to mention have a checklist of all your items have one for when you leave home and your first packing. Have a second one in your suitcase for when you’re way home. That way you can check everything off to make sure you have everything and you never forget anything

These were all great tips, which I used. I'm with Bean, b4 I got TSA precheck clearance I hated taking off my shoes and stepping on that nasty floor. Alot of those ppl be barefoot and then put their feet back in their shoes. 😝
