I rode this very model while 242 to 26 years young ..! Belonged to a friend while at the time I was riding the 84 Husky 250;CR WITH LIGHT AND PLATE - TOTALLY STREET LEGAL !!! The rest of friends rode another COUPLE OF huskies - one being the 1982 430 wr - the AUTOMATIC with that infamous killer far from dependable to the revs or linear monstrous torque - the bang came each time - but depending on the bike's mood on the day - not one of us who tried to tempt the monster was able to avoid the visit to the local hospital - a beauty of a Bultaco 250 - even a Caballero Fanfic 125 my future best woman - and even in the future upgraded to best ever girlfriend - rode that tall crazy 125 hard as any of us men would - and the girl being the definition of environmentally conscious rider - trying a minimum footprint by her dedication in keeping the front rubber new - all bikes from the early 80s..if you notice none of the bike's was 'made in Japan" - they were still considered made just for the suicidal tendency bearing Enduro audience -and too far from the European superior handling off and on the roads - in many cases leveled things for "smaller " but so better in keeping the rider in the dirt and on the grass and off some bed ..! You brought back memories - got to find my buddy who owned it back then and share it with him when I get back home .. You know i believe most those bikes are gathering dust in some basements or storages or garages - as most of us wouldn't think of selling our first "love" and kept them it in the many decades to follow - but obviously our love was rather possession instead - none ever bothered give time and love - getting those beauties out again ..
You did a great job love the maico
