I'm not sure about that. Previous races were on this channel live for all. These last two races were live behind the paywall on Cleetus' site only. This is defintitely a step backwards , I want to watch and support the sport not some Cleetus.
@@Dqtube my guess is they (SST) can only do so much without any kind of profit/revenue coming in. SST with a bigger budget could make for better entertainment, layouts, locations, and equipment for the live stream. Just my two cents though
I had my doubts about the track layout but the action was impressive! I think the changes made in Race 2 made it even better and challenging. Great job to Cleetus & Cars for making this a fun weekend, shout out to Robbie and SST for letting some boys mix it up with the pros and put on a really good show! There will definitely be no shortage of drivers available to strap into the trucks, and I think there's a lot of new eyeballs hungry for more SST action!
The announcer is Jared Deanda (idk if I spelt that correctly) He's the announcer for Formula Drift. And now doing a lot of events for Cleetus too. So while you're right, they don't know jack shit about this race style, or the drivers. Doesn't mean they're terrible. Deanda is literally the voice of Formula D lol Other guy is Nick Savage, and he's pretty lame for announcing. Not much of a hype guy
Just started watching these races when Cleetus showed up. I’m enjoying them a fair bit. An “anything can happen” level of chaos, and a sub 30 minute race, makes it fun to watch.
Cleetus has helped bring the wider tappet-head motorsport community together more than possibly any other enthusiast. From street draggers to sprint boaters and everything in between. He's also helped other content producers along the way. Kyle, Brent, and many others. The guy bought and resurrected an oval track and made a skid pad in the middle so people could have fun in a fit-for-purpose environment because he loves racing and having fun with horsepower. He's a bloody legend!
For being the first time out there Cletus you nailed it the show was dependent tell the whole crew everybody that went out there tell them thanks for the excitement and let's do it again next year let's go
I dont know how many millions of subscribers (just on YT) Ol Cleet has cobbled together with all in attendance (20M? with a strong autosport focus) but nike only has 1.7M subs or Chev 0.7M. Primetime TV viewing numbers are only 0.5-2M give or take. Fact is this is lots of exposure but more importantly it is targeted exposure. I could only guess the combined reach across multiple platforms. Sad or awesome but true: if Matt, Dave & Garrett turned up for a one off race they would get more views than 3 NASCAR drivers...
Max has taken out someone every race he has been in. Doesn’t yield to faster truck on the outside with the better line, kills their tire, backs up into another truck, then slams into another truck trying to get back into it. Kid is a bad driver, reckless, nepotism ruining these races.
Yeah he's not making any friends anywhere he goes......of course his dad was kind of the same so who knows how far that's gonna take him in the wrong direction till he straightens out.
Not giving him a pass, but it's hard to teach someone to be a fighter without making them aggressive. I think people turn out to be fighters because of life experiences, but trying to raise one runs into problems. Anyhow, it's part of being a young driver, he'll get better. The truth is, he's a good driver because he started young, regardless of any innate talent, in the racing world age + experience = value. To say otherwise is just wrong.
@@TexRobNC , I disagree. It’s the difference between raising a generous caring person or a bully. Look at Sheldon Creed. Kid is 100% talent as well, but because he uses good judgement he been in 10 different series now. Great job Cleetus and the SST team. I've been watching long enough to know Jarred announced for the series in the first years. Watched the PPV figured I'd give ya a view and 👍.
Out of SST's hands, this was not their production crew and it was set up for a streaming PPV event, not live broadcast, there's no big fancy million-dollar production truck and set-up that NBC Sports brings.
You don’t realize how much bad announcers can spoil your enjoyment of a race until you sit through one or two. This was pretty bad but not anywhere near as bad as the Bristol 1000 guys. I couldn’t even finish watching and I Love Cleetus and everything he does. Great event though and THANK YOU ROBBY GORDON for a great event and series!
Keep in mind this show was entirely put together by Cleetus and his crew. They're not "professionals" but they're all learning how to put together quality events, and they're also a pretty laid-back crew overall. This was a HUGE step up from their usual shows in terms of scale and importance. They did alright. :)
I wasn't so sure about how good the layout would be for the stadium supertrucks either, but man I tell you the action is nail biting and if you blink you miss a lot!!!!
Kind of painful to watch/listen to but what a cool event! I always wish the camera direction didn't follow the leader when there's a runaway. You miss all the action.
It was Heavy D (Dave Sparks). It looked like an older dude. I’m guessing, just guessing from that video, it was the dad of that 13 y/o kid in the Winnebago truck. Not Max, the other kid.
@@brettbaratheon9776 yes Heavy D sorry. I saw a clip of it on shredders channel. Guy is lucky Dave is a God fearing corn fed farming Mormon till he gets pushed to far.
Max Gordon needs to be put in a single seater open wheel class like fx. Formula Ford for a couple of seasons, learn how to race clean, if you bump into someone in an open wheel race car your wheel is gone and you're out of the race. Putting the kid in a stadium truck battering ram is clearly a bad idea, he needs to race something way more fragile until he learns how to do clean racing.

I've been watching the Australians do this for years. I'm so glad this sport is taking on the United States. I can't fucking stand NASCAR anymore. This is the best racing I've seen in a while. In the USA.
This is an American sport you idiot… Americans have been racing them for years… all stadium super truck are American-made and even the Australians have to rent them from Robbie Gordon, the original designer of stadium super trucks…
Max needs to go to an actual racing school and learn some discipline and race craft, clearly learning from Robbie isn't enough, then again Robbie had no discipline either.
Car No1 have other suspension setup - it's clearly to see, it's lower and stiffer. The car don't pull his front wheel up on the most corners. Maybe this setup was to hard for the car for the ramps and jumps and go broken. It was faster but not durable enough. To much stress for the suspension parts.

I think for SST and the short number of laps the mandatory cautions are justified. You saw how quick Hines Ward got out in front. Without the cautions he just would have ran off and probably lapped half the field, making it no race at all.
