This is usually the first major jewelry purchase (or any purchase for that matter) for many clients which can cause someone a great deal of stress; so hopefully these engagement ring shopping tips will help you navigate it with more ease. There is no such thing as a one size fits all diamond shopping guide or engagement ring buying manual because there are so many variables at play; all the different shapes, ring designs, custom options, price points. It really comes down to your personal preference and what will work best for your target budget; once you decide how much to spend on engagement ring we can help you maximize the value and find the best center-stone options.
Here are some steps to consider below and we advise you to watch this video to learn more about the process and what to expect when you are looking to get engaged.
Step 1: Do your Homework: go on our website and make a short list of the styles and/or diamond shapes you are interested in. Equipped with this, set up an appointment to come try them on.
Step 2: The Appointment: having an appointment is a great way to ensure someone will be available to meet with you and have all your information prepared ahead of time ensuring a proper follow up.
Step 3: Pick the Shape of your Center: Try the shape of your choice on your hand, compare it side by side to other options. Get the opinion of your shopping mate and also check out how it looks in the mirror as well for an additional view.

This is great, very helpful. But if we don't talk about the central stone size, how will I know how the ring is going to look on my hand? Everything can be thrown off if the size is not good.
You need to try on rings in person :)
How long is the turn around time? From choosing the ring and centre stone to receiving it in the mail?
It is flexible, approximately 3 weeks but there is also rush order option available.

Hi I have a question which might seem silly because I really don'y know. Wouldn't the guy be coming into buy an engagement ring and this would be without the partner's knowledge. How does that scenario go with determining size and determining cut for the partner?

Yes but should always have some idea of what shape and ring design she likes so you have a baseline to go off of. If that is not possible you can try asking her friends or relatives as she may have shared that with them. Finally you can browse our website together to see what catches her.
How much is the one carat?
I loved Catherine’s taste in rings. It seems like we had the exact same taste in engagement rings, lol. I wish you guys could show the rings on a bigger finger. I’m a size 8.75

Those designs are just too much for me. For me, most of the time less is more. To me a simple round solitaire looks much better than those cushion and oval pavé and halo designs. Somehow they make it look tacky and cheaper than it is. To each their own I guess.
