Kantorow is a virtuoso pianist unlike many heard before. His technique is exceptional but he connects to the pieces he plays with an intimate intensity not heard before. His use of the petal is unique and it feels as if I am listening, especially with this Liszt, from inside the keyboard. A rare and fiery virtuoso!
Alexandre Kantorow is a pianist: Indeed, he's a virtuoso! But there are others. What sets Alexandre Kantorow apart is his touch. A skill that goes beyond understanding, of tempo and the strength put into his fingers. Every time, it produces profound emotion. And also admiration. Watch the musicians applauding Alexandre Kantorow. They are astounded!
Apart from my great admiration for this great pianist, I found the continuing dialogue between the piano and the orchestra as a whole and with particular instruments at certain parts of the Concerto, from the sart to the end, most astonishing and captivating. Bravo 🎉

What a bad pianist. He plays the fast passages in a totally unexpressive manner. He thinks Liszt is just a show-off. As Brendel said: "Anybody who thinks that Liszt is just for pure display better stay away from him."

Amazing! Great to hear such musically thought-through interpretation.👏👍
Extremely well played, Bravo.
Alex is the best interpreter of Liszt's works🌿Bravo!
Magnifico.
Wonderful performance.
Gorgeous! ❤ Everything perfect : soloist, maestro, orchestra, sound, camera...
By the way, the first violist : Viktor Bobeshko?

This work of LIszt I know by head, of course. But this is the first time I really heard it.
By heart. We say "by heart" to mean you have the whole piece memorized and know every note (even though it is indeed in your head). 🙂
That's gorgeous cello soling at around the 9 minute mark

Beeindruckend, virtuos, dabei ohne Attitüde, magnifique
Vielen Dank!

He dresses horribly..when the orchestra is in white tie it is disrespectful to show up looking like that.
