I was just watching one of your older videos and I was writing about my old stereo systems in my vehicles when I was younger and now I’m looking for a surroundsound system in my wife is about to buy one of those ones you buy from Costco or with everything at one and then I told her now I’m not doing it I said I can buy a set a certain Vega bookshelf speakers with the 5 inch sub and they will sound better than one of those so I deafly looking to go to sub probably would like to build a sub with two 8inch subs

Just looking online at car stereos there’s so many new companies that I’ve never even heard of 4601 hour younger everybody kicker Alpine Rockford sound stream JL audio MTX was on the cheaper side but they have some decent subs that did not cause a lot of money my uncle head 67 Chevelle and he had a little Sony a.m. to infinity six by nines with the Kappa twiters It’s crazy how good they sounded just to six by nines in the back deck of the Chevelle with new subwoofer in just a little Sony amp I was in middle school then so back then that was really cool to me but one side start driving my first stereo system was added to 12 inch checkers then I kept that box but I ended up getting 4 8 inch suns this was in my girl friends car she got her car before o got my truck and on your other video I rode all the stuff the other stuff that I had in my friends head it was crazy how much people were back into that stuff in the 90s late 90s early 2000 the louder the better the after I heard smaller subs and how hard they hit compared to 12s I would like tens but eight I thought sound better especially when you had three or four of them 🙀🥳😱🤯

Very good video! I have seen NVX around as a company, but nobody ever really talked about them until recently. In some ways, they are the new Skar Audio- entering the scene with super competitive pricing on seemingly great products. I'm tempted to buy the 15" VSW subwoofer and attempt to build a box for it, but I don't have enough space in the back of my car for it sadly.
Keep posting videos on NVX products!!! Would love to see more about them.

I run the VCW subs in most of my rides as a "budget" build. They sound good ported low and still get just loud enough to jam if you want.

The old school NVX "X" - series were made by SB ACOUSTICS who is a phenomenal speaker manufacturer. I still have a set of the 6.5 and 29mm tweeter brand new in the box that I purchased from a place that couldn't sell them because their clientele was just used to budget friendly products.

the NVX VSW and VCW are a great bang for the buck. i regularly use both for car audio and home audio. GRS also make some great sounding budget subs, in fact the GRS 12" SW4HE has incredibly similar TS parameters to the dual 2 ohm VSW 12 - you can get those through PE.

@@DIYAudioGuy well look at that! great resource. admittedly that particular GRS sub is the little brother of the HE version but the sound quality is relatively the same, just less excursion. i also have used some of the GRS 12" pro audio drivers, they don't go deep but their midbass and upper sub bass is sublime (for car audio).

Cool...just came off the sight looking at these and here you have a video about them. I'm considering getting the VCWv2 10" 2ohm sealed 750rms and push it with my 600 2ohm sub channel on my Pioneer D9705 5channel. I realize I'm a little light on power, (specs recommended 600 to 800 watts) but thinking I won't be cranking it full blast. Still undecided!

I asked you opinion a while back. But these NVX’s sound pretty nice. Would you chose a VS series NVX subwoofer or a Dayton max-x? Or is there a similar sub you would recommend? I have a kicker key 500.1 amplifier. I have tried a JL audio 12w0v3-4 and wasn’t blown away by the 150 watts at 1 ohm. I figured the 500 watts at 1 ohm might add a little bit more power to work with. I didn’t know what u could get that would sound similar to the JL but better. I just want a nice subwoofer suggestion that won’t break the bank. Thank you.

One thing you forgot to mention about the VSW is it has the "shorting ring technology" which helps with inductance... it's a very good all around quality sounding sub . This sub plays very clean bass and it gets pretty low ,which it surprised me for what it is...
    Now on the vcw's.. hmmmmm.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I also have the 10" vcw's which in my opinion is one of the best BALANCED buffet subwoofers I own, because of the SPL it PRODUCES but at the same time, PRODUCES very very clean quality bass.... and we all know in car audio a lot has to do with trade offs ..well that's where the VCW shines... if you're only looking for strictly SPL then the VCW is not for you ...if you only looking for strictly sound quality then the VCW is not for you... if you're looking for the best of both world's, extremely well-balanced spl subwoofer, that's when you get THE VCW'S.....BOOM POW SMACK 💥💥 yeeeeeeew 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟💥🔥🔥🔥.. I'm telling you duuuuude and I've tried a lot of different subwoofers brands... And this is by far one of the best for the budget brand subwoofers and when you hear them you won't think their budget subs, I promise....I also do love kicker .. that's all I have in my truck is kicker and nvx .. .. ..Anyways if you're looking to get loud( SPL) but yet still have that quality clean (loud )bass... then the VCW is DEFINITELY MOST DEFINITELY for you..omg yessir .. 💥💥💥💥🔥💪💪 ....I now have two of the newest 10" vcw V3 versions(not installed yet) now with new "carbon" dust cap , higher RMS handling @ 800 to 1,000 RMS xmax of 22 now....plus the dual (I think progressive) spiders which they upgraded those on the V2s and with the new black sleek look that they also upgraded on the V2s but the power handling is around the same as V1s with 750rms whereas the V1 VCWs also @750 RMS as mentioned but with the chrome magnet(which i liked better) and only had one and a half spider, even though it said it was a dual spider it wasn't a true one....and it has an fs of 29 for the 10" V1...dude braaa🤔 Richter!!! Good stuff..... YEEEEEEEEEEEEW 🤙🤙🤙🤙☮️✌️💪🤟💪💥🔥🔥🔥🔥...

Hey Jose, I enjoyed your comment, and see that you like to share your thoughts and opinions. I was hoping you might share some opinions or guidance with me.
I'm in the middle of my first car audio install. (Been driving for 40yrs listening to stock) 😆 I've never had or listened to a subwoofer in a car. I have a Mazda 4dr sedan. JBL GTO 860c 3 way components in front doors. (6x8 woofers, 2" GTO 20m midrange, 1" tweeters/ GTO 930 6x9s on rear deck, Pioneer 722 HU, and Pioneer D9705 5channel amp 75/100 ×4 with 350/600 sub channel. I've been trying to research the last piece to the puzzle (subwoofer) I'm most interested in SQ to compliment my system. (Deep, accurate tone and feel) (mostly listen to 60s, 70s, 80's classic, hard, and soft rock)
***any advice??? I was thinking 10"sealed at 2ohm.? (Max budget is $300 with enclosure.
***the subs on my mind are the VSW 10" 500rms, VSW 12" 600rms, VCW 10" 750rms....or Kicker??
***I would appreciate anything that you care to share.
***this car is my daily driver to work and was thinking of strapping the sub to my rear seat if it sounds better than in my trunk.

I'm super curious on if you have any videos or tests on subwoofers from like JL Audio? I'm looking at all these subwoofers and the price difference is so large but I feel like you get what you pay for and I'm not worried about price. I'm looking at the JL Audio TW3 or the NVX S-series shallow mount subwoofers. Do you have any thoughts on this? I noticed a lot of your videos have subwoofers that don't seem mainstream like JL audio or Alpine? Do you have any thoughts on comparing the the mainstream and these other subwoofers from parts express or nvx? Thank so much! I love your videos and have learned so much!

I've never been able to afford JL or justify the expense. But having said that I've noticed that the price gap between JL and other brands seems to have closed a little bit in the last year or so.

Wow they are cheap. Any chance you could throw an N Series 12 in a box and see what kind of db you get? Hi Fi vega tested the low end DD and he got 138 out of a single 12. To me that is very impressive coming out of a 300 watt rms sub. It won't be apples to apples since you have a truck but I'd like to see how the low end NVX stacks up since it is fairly close in rms wattage.

    • @DIYAudioGuy
      @DIYAudioGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I don't have a good test set up. I am sure that I could get a few more DB out of this one if the sub was not sitting on the back seat. th-cam.com/video/QV3yfVYTMuk/w-d-xo.html
The amp is under the seat so I don't have an easy way to tune it. I suppose I need to do something about that.

the VSW should not be given more than 600w regardless of what the specs say. honestly, if it's being run vented it should be capped at 300w with a 20hz subsonic filter. it's sensitivity is good though so it will get plenty loud on 300w. the VCW needs gobs more power but it rewards you well when supplied.

Great spot on NVX. Recently finished a build with a Sony XAVAX3200, xm-gs4, xm-gs100 and Mobile ES 6.5 components and coaxials. When looking for sub/box combo to compliment vehicle acoustics we landed on a pair NVX N series 12s in a 3.0 cu/ft sealed enclosure due to the being unsure about Sony subwoofers. V series subs would have been my first choice but we wanted to make sure we had some headroom with a lower powered amp. Let me tell you for about $55 each those N's sound great. Customer is super happy and I feel like the NVX brand will hold up. Sometimes the tried and true simplicity of design is hard to beat.
