I've been listening to this song for about 30 years, Disturbed 's version has blown me away. David' s vocals are so emotive it brings a tear to my eye. Then you hear the absolute professionalism of the band arrangements are perfect musical skill perfect. Can't seem to play it enough.

I grew up on Simon and Garfunkel and enjoy their music. Recently, I have been into watching videos on military and police dogs, especially a man who trains Belgian Malinois. The music is this version of The Sound of Silence. I am BLOWN AWAY by the passion and intensity of the singer. This Deadhead is a Dusturbed fan now!!!
What a beautiful re-imagining of a classic. When he growls out, "and the people bowed and prayed..." -- I can hardly type it without crying. Loss comes crashing in. A necessary purge. Again and again.

I'm a child of the sixties, and that song resonated first time around. It stayed with me all these years. Simon and Garfunkel sang it with exquisite poignancy but the power was there.
But this guy, against the backdrop of real footage, those first responders doing what they do, no fanfare or fuss, they were there and finding people... rescuing people... Then this clip now, this guy David Draiman - the POWER of that melody and the words... Grim REAL context...

In 1964 I was 8 years old and the original S & G song was good. This rendition is another level. The tone and resonance is so touching. It grabs your heart strings and plays with them throughout the song. For a rock group this is the best cover by far. I will definitely buy their album.

Only 2 voices have given me goosebumps.....Roy Orbison and this fellow David from a group called Disturbed. I was not familiar with this group until I came across The Sounds of Silence. OMG! The passion and heart of this man is obvious immediately and his voice makes Simon and Garfunkle sound like amateurs. He nails this song like I've never heard before and I'm 65 years old.
