Hi Adele, I suspect that there probably are ticks in long grass and bushy areas. I didn't find any, but it's worthwhile checking yourself after walking in long grass. And if your dog is going with you, might be a good idea to put them on an anti tick treatment before going. There are some excellent products, just chat to your local vet shop.
