    Lots of mentions in the comments for an infinity bottle for the leftover whiskey from our channel tastings so we figured we’d post a pinned comment.
    In theory that’s a great idea until you consider all the inevitable backwash accumulating and marinating over time. 🤢 We’ll continue to save and finish the rest of special pours that pop up, but there’s no need to selvedge half an ounce of Wild Turkey 101, 1792 Small Batch, or the like in our minds.

      @WhiskyForBeginners 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had an infinity bottle for a while, but though at times it was good, it never was as good as the good stuff I put into it - and mostly it wasn't good.

    • @Atarizlol
      @Atarizlol 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah definitely not worth saving that lower tier stuff for sure.

      Should do this with the mid teir or better bourbon and try to do a weekly video on the remainder.
      After having pours of some stuff, especially if I like it I can't pour it out if I can help it. Sometimes i start to pour like 2- 3 pours at a time if i know ill be drinking that night to let them open up. 14:33 I'll make it to more of a cocktail or put a lid on my glenclairen to drink later if I can't finish it though.
      But yes, if having 300+ bottles, no big deal to pour out a little bit of each of a blind to not feel terrible the next morning. Not that the bottle would sit long or if it's bad, no biggie, you would have poured it out anyway.

    I’m not sure about all these international whiskeys getting mixed in with the bourbons and ryes of the “pours unknown “ , but I could definitely see the American single malts and American whiskeys being a part of that. Especially the American single malts. It’s a whiskey that really took off in the last few years, and we already have some really great, delicious ones.

    I once spilled a bottle of wine in a hotel vending room. I had gone with the bottle to fill up the ice bucket for my wife, sat it on the floor and while I was getting the ice I kicked it by accident in it fell over and broke and spilled all over the place. It was a sweet wine and the aroma, actually the stench, stuck around for way too long.

    Thank y'all for adding my question to your video and for the shout out. I like the idea of adding whiskies from around the world...occasionally. I've been getting into some Scotch after a 30 year no Scotch hiatus. I've also been adding some Irish. I'm going to get some Glenlivet and a few other 50ml to try. Also just got my curbside haul from Dallas yesterday. Got a Teeling, 13th Colony, Ben Holladay Red Wheat, Traveller, Longbranch, Rebecca Creek..and as per Erin's recommendation, a Middle West Dark Pumpernickel Rye. I'll be busy tasting for the next few months😂🥃🥃

    Good Q&A. I'm against mixing the international whisky in the blind pool. I don't have any interest for international whisky (Not because I don't like them but I'm limiting myself to Bourbon/rye) so I'd be less likely to watch bourbon vs other international whisky. I'd prefer it separate.

    I am newer to your channel and am enjoying your content. Since the term “whiskey” encompasses Scotch, Irish, Japanese, Tennessee, and International …i would like to see you add them to your content. I have recently tried scotch and, although i have always thought it to be a too smokey for my choice, i am willing to dive deeper into them. So maybe a video on scotch for beginners or scotch 101 and explaining flavors and peated smoke etc. same with Irish, Single Malts etc. I associate Irish with Jameson and I did not like that at all. So i guess my response is yes. Please add other Whiskeys to the content and if you need any more ideas…. I can definitely send them to you. Lol. Thanks and keep up the good work!

    7:31 I'm a-sippin' on a Knob Creek Kelly Liquors store pick right now. But the regular Knob Creek 9 is mighty good too. 🙂
    10:41 I would suggest *not* putting Scottish or Irish whiskey up against bourbon. That would be like putting German chocolate cake up against cheese enchiladas - they're both delicious, but they're entirely separate categories.
    12:40 Erin, how can you not know Ric Flair? 😮 Of course, most people only know him from his time in the WWF...
    17:13 Y'all's daughter sounds like someone I'd enjoy knowing. She sounds something like my own daughters - who are not 12, but probably about y'all's age. Shoot fire, my granddaughter will be 19 next month. 😂

    Question.... my all time favorite bourbon is blue note uncut. I have 7 bottles. If you're familiar with this (and I realize every barrel was different ours 15046 was 116.5 proof) can you recommend something I might like that I may not have tried yet?

    • @stuffandwhiskey
      @stuffandwhiskey  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! We're big fans too. As single barrels, we've noticed the ones we've tried have varied quite a bit. Some fruity, some have a candy bar profile, and some have a fun funky quality to them. Knob Creek 120 proof single barrels and Russell's Reserve single barrels are great alternatives in our mind as far as the profile we most associate with Green River, and it's well worth checking out any good MGP single barrels too (which for us Nashville Barrel Co stands out head and shoulders above the crowd there).

    Infinity bottle for leftovers! Then you can review every few months . Knowing Josh he will make a list of what's in it. Maybe better than mad scientist approach.

    Question for Next Time: I know that I periodically get burned out by whiskey, whiskey content, whiskeytube nerd fights, etc. How do you personally deal with or avoid burnout...without accumulating 300+ bottles. Personal note, this is the ONLY channel I comment on as it is devoid of the negativity that is rampant online. Cheers.

      Recording a Q&A today for quite a while down the road (April) but this is a GREAT question and we're definitely answering it! Thank you for the kind words by the way Ian. Life is too short for negativity. Cheers!

    Why drain pour when you can make infinity bottles and give them away to friends? I love making my own blends just for fun.

    What do you do with empty bottles. Seems such a shame to toss them in recycle just to get pulverized.

      Recycling is a beautiful thing for all the standard stuff. We only keep the special memorable bottles.

    Here's a Q (I'm sure Josh will love this). Why do TH-camrs still say "Comments down below"? Where else are there comments? Saying "down below" is redundant. I'm being a little cheeky, but still. We know the comments are down below.

    I think you need to buy some land in TN and everyone in the Patreon community can start a commune. You can lead us in tastings and have a studio audience doing your videos. We can also all share our love of whisk(e)y. Wait...does that sound a bit cultish? 🤣🤣🤣

    I for one don't prefer Scotch. Single malts are fine. Just getting into American single malts. If you put international offerings on a different video that would be great
