How to find and Cook Mud Mussels!

In this video we show how to find and cook mud mussels the NT Traditional way. Taking you all on the expedition we explain how and where the best place to find them are and also the easiest way to cook them.

Got me keen ta try for some myself... In qld and have seen the dead/empty shells before but never benn to serious about it... Bit shit over here we can't use a crab hook or keep female/jenny crabs.. Rules are Rules tho

Yah I do love using a crab hook, I have grabbed plenty of crabs out of holes bear handed over the years and also been bitten plenty of times too 😂

Yah majority are under the mud u can feel there shells on the bottom of ur feet, 🤣 there so bloody tasty but 🤤

How far north do you get them?

We live on the very tip of the NT, but they are found around a lot of places. Just really depends where you want to look for them. I’d say as long as there is a mangrove system you should find them
