@@jozegonzales-yv5vh 6-1 wasn't that fun for me, until I realized you don't have to kill any kf the secret enemies that spawn in. Only the stuff in the main rooms is required lol. 5-3 was hell to p-rank, though.
I enjoyed the 5-1 challenge so much. Imo it's one of my favorites just because it allowed me to utilize cool tech more. Tips for those who are struggling: For 5-1's challenge, use the rocket launcher to get around. It makes it so much easier and makes it way more fun imo. Made me glad I learned instant rocket riding lol. Don't forget there is water in the last two rooms. Lost a run to that because I didn't see it lmfao. Once you use rockets to your advantage the only room that will be kinda hard is the cerb room and I recommend doing it first to get it out of the way.
I thought Sisyphus too but someone said Hakita denied it, I dunno though I haven't been able to find a source on that though they may have just been talking out their ass (shocker!!)
I don't see any rhyme or reason for it being Poseidon, the precedent that has been set is the character will have some buildup like Minos, so that doesn't leave a lot of options tbh
I'm gonna be honest I had more trouble in the 5-1 double Maurice and mindflayer room and 5-3 theatre room before the red skull than Gabe 2. Those 2 rooms alone account for 30 of my act 2 deaths of which I had 47 and only 2 of which were Gabe. That's not because I'm insanely good or have a 1000 or so hours because the last time I'd had Access to a PC to play ultrakill was back when greed released, I didn't even have an optimal opening combo for Gabe 2, I think it's more by that point most people have a very decent grasp of what the game asks of you to deal with and respond to the problems it presents like effective dodging against flurry attacks, knowing what and when to parry or how to react to his sudden teleporting in phase 2.
I did in general find some of the arenas in the new update harder than the bosses, I can at least agree with that. I don't disagree with what you're saying at face value but many people are taking this to mean the fight is too easy, or even bad. I think that's ridiculous. I've seen people who just grasped the game's mechanics very early have no trouble with V2 and beat him in one try or very few tries, I don't think it means V2 is too easy, the skill check just served its purpose. I think it's the nature of skill checks you either get it or you don't. Gabriel 2 is the first boss to really deliberately test parrying and a certain style of dodging, it is possible with some advanced tech to just cheese him without seeing his moves but very unlikely a new player will do it accidentally, they will have to learn how to dodge and parry his attacks to win. So for that reason I think the bossfight serves its purpose. If you found it easy, that's fine, but I do believe it exists to show progress to some extent (i.e. Hey I just kinda beat up on this guy who caused me so much trouble a while ago). I also think it thematically makes sense for Gabe to be somewhat 'weak' here, it is pretty clear his anger towards V1 is a moment of weakness, and that he underestimated its strength, I think this comes through in this fight with unbridled (but exploitable) aggression. Hakita said he found new players were spending about 30 minutes with it and that he was happy with that. I find the fight fairly challenging if I don't burn his healthbar with slabcoins and raincoins and shit, not as hard as Minos for example but his combos keep me on my toes.
@@DumpsterManVODs I have rewritten this comment something like ten times trying to decide what to say. I agree entirely with your observation on the nature of skill checks and how players circumvent these skill checks and despite the fact I only had two restarts for the Gabe 2 fight I found it decently challenging and fun (at no point did I ever think it was easy because of a lack of restarts). I also agree with you on the idea that people are taking the Gabe 2 fight as "too easy" or "bad" as a result rather than realising that Gabe 2 is a mid game boss that they already had the required skills (or cheese) to steamroll without even looking at what Gabe is doing or trying to engage in the fight. From my own perspective my only issue with the Gabe 2 fight was it kind of did more of the same. Even then it's extremely minor and makes sense because Gabriel is in denial at his first loss why would he need to change his approach when it has worked for him for an eternity beforehand, this is also why I love the ending to the fight, Gabriel is realising that he needs to change his approach setting up the idea that the final encounter with Gabriel is going to be wild and I am looking forward to it.
I appreciate the response and I apologize if I came off combative, it wasn't directed at you, I have gotten more than few shortsighted comments from people actually thinking the bossfight is bad because it wasn't Minos-level difficult. It is imperfect in some ways (hah) but I really enjoyed it personally and consider it to be the second best in the game so far only behind Minos even though I didn't spend hours struggling with it. I think the new patch had some positive fixes that will make the fight a little more challenging on first brush without completely tipping the scales in the opposite direction as well. I just in general have no patience for people who seem content just ruining their enjoyment of the game by expecting the game will always cater directly to them when they belong to a
the chalenges may be something but p ranking 5 2 is where instead off hakita designing the levels jakito took over and destroyed me in the inside and not in the fun way
5-1's p rank was pretty interesting since simply removing some water entirely changed the level. I'm thinking about going through the level again (but this time actually touching water) 5-3 on the other hand... Man fuck hakita that was evil, I love yiu and hate you for that corridor
you did pretty good, I'd recommend using over pumps more often. they're great against mindflayers and if you dash a a certain time you won't take damage. they also instantly kill virtues.
Y'know it's funny you mention that cause honestly I do use overpumps a lot more normally, but I realized looking back that I had my blue shotgun in the first slot for these streams some reason, I have no idea why, and I didn't change it back until after this stream. You might notice I keep accidentally core ejecting in these streams lol, I kept doing that instead of overpumping, thinking "I should change that back" and then not doing it.
rocket launcher, i think, is a pure mobility weapon. it has its offensive quirks, but are outshined by advanced techniques e.g. projectile boosting, core nuking. some guy no-damage'd 5-4 just by flying around the leviathan with the rocket launcher.
It's such a crazy mobility weapon, but the damage isn't that bad especially during nuke cool down and when staying off shotgun awhile for more style. In it's current state though, when you learn instant rocket rides, you can just do that infinitely and it's so broken and so fun. So yea it's better as a mobility tool for sure.
Evil Hakita be like: "I will make p-ranking levels fun"
But it *is* fun!
Its fun as long as the level isnt long
@@matclory 3-1 and 6-1 are the most fun p ranks imo and they're really long levels

also you can slide on top of water
Sliding on the water is fun and useful most of the time, but I believe, causes you to fail this challenge.
The P-2 boss is probably going to be Sisyphus.
I’d say it’s gonna be Poseidon
