effortless (looking) magic. I would give anything to have a voice like this... but far better that the birds sing like this. Phenomenal footage, thank-you so very much for filming this!
I have listened to this carefully and all I have heard are the natural weird sounds that lyrebirds make. Extensive research has never found lyrebirds in the wild to make human sounds. Their natural calls include "car alarm" and other electronic-type sounds, clicking and grating sounds and an extensive repertoire of odd noises which they seem to like, but none of it is human mimicry. The problem is people have heard or seen captive birds mimicking cameras and machinery and think they are hearing it in lyrebirds natural calls. If you look at my posts Lyrebird Diaries you can hear imitating all the weird noises of satin bowerbirds and other stuff, but it is all natural. This bird is quite subdued, probably out of breeding season, because they can be phenomenally loud.
What a beautiful creature I'm trying to quantify how many individual sound this bird can produce & it's sad that you can hear in the background police siren wailing & what is clearly the sound of a chainsaw hacking their habitats down. Keep humans out of the forest please save wildlife.

This is the coolest bird! The 2 feathers on the outside of his tail, from a distance look like a snake!
