I just took econometrics in the spring as a sophomore. By midterms, I wanted to drop the class as it made me depressed. The homework assignments took up too much time and felt too challenging. I talked to my professor and he encouraged me to stick with it. I listened to him, and ended up doing research, presenting it at a conference in April, and now I submitted a paper on it to my professor for review. The hope is I can refine it a bit and publish somewhere. I’m really glad I ended up pushing myself to complete the course as it made me much more confident. now no economics course seems too scary

Very inspiring coming from someone who has... been an academic their entire life. He went from studying at Yale to teaching at Yale.

Hopefully you're predicting the future, because I don't teach at Yale...yet!

Take challenging classes earlier so that you have chances to retake them without spending extra years in college.
Yes, I'm serious, and this could happen to anyone.
Courses will not be easier just because you're one year older. If you want to take hard courses later in college, make sure the classes you take really help you prepare for the final boss. Don't just wait until the last year and hope it will just turn out good.

Hello thank you 😀 your channel has been really useful for me to go deep into economics more.
actually I'm a graduate student with finance as my major and I want study for the development of children but I'm confused should I go for development economics or finance and economics for development? My sole goal is to work with children and improving their lives like orphans etc

Yes. This is the best of all the economics degrees. You should include math or comp science.

@@l.b.-l.8252 It was a bad decision. useless major.. cant do anything with it LOL... going back to school for a bs in computer sci.

@@ilpaesedelmiocuore2637 No offense, but the degree is not the problem. You don't have to go back to school, if you are willing to take a few months off and go hard on learning various program language and creating impressive project. Degree is just a paper, that get your foot in the door, but your personal skillset. CS doesn't necessary guarantee you a job either.

I think you’d have a stronger description if you instead listed a charity rather than a church. I think a good charity can change someone’s life by helping them with hunger, housing, and working conditions rather than changing their faith. No one has ever turned down bread when they are starving without purpose, plenty of people have turned down the faith. One need is greater than the other. Please remove your church from the description.
