@nznige Maybe it's not your fault because typically you don't run to a ball I just let it come to you so you can hit it, maybe try hopping to the side and hitting it semi open?
It’s always interesting to see how quickly we can learn a new movement and also how quickly we forget it. That early preparation was already gone at the end of the lesson but as coaches we know naturally that will happen and it’s good to reinforce it once again at the end to bring it all together. What a great session, love to learn from you Patrick!
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us! I’ve been trying to apply your pointers and I think I’ve improved a lot thanks to them (my coach thinks I’m improving very quickly but he doesn’t know it’s thanks to your videos yet lol)
Someone help me out here. PM says lead with the hand on forehand, let the body follow. It seems to me most coaches say use the big muscles first, lead with the body, and let it bring the arm/hand along. Trying to figure out how to reconcile this, or just which philosophy to follow.
Always illuminating to see how girls respond to instructions vs boys. One group are engaged, interested and happy. The other not. Can you guess which group is which.
I think he uses the hands as a cue, more than an explanation of where power comes from. He clearly knows that the power comes from several different body parts working together.
Keep in mind these players already use the ground. The advice from coaches as it should be is specific to the player they are coaching. Maybe a looser wrist was what was needed in this specific case.
Doesn't full preparation prevent swing acceleration? I would advise 70% preparation and the rest should be completed as soon as the ball bounces (Actually that's what exactly she were doing)
Sorry, but the Girl got different Instruction for different shots/works. So it is - in my Opinion - not unserious to give in Situations/ „Jobs“…the Motivation „great Job“.
What’s the hardest part of preparing before a shot for you?
The unit turn
To stay right to the ball
open stance
stopping before hitting and not just hitting on the run through the ball especially the wide balls

Already has the footwork of a future champion.

You make everything look so easy thanks
What is her coach's name?

Because boys are never socialized correctly. "They are boys, let them be". Or worse "it's only natural for boys"
Dang, she's good. I like how she ca easily hit those higher than hip shots: They are all higher lol 😁
At first I thought: "That racquet is massive!" Then I saw it was a child holding it. lol!
Extreme skill for a 9 year old. Wow
What do you say to coaches who say that power comes from the feet or body and to swing with body not hands ?

May l know how much we pay to hire him for 1 hour?
I am sure over a 1000€
Wow, 21 hours per week of tennis at 9/10 yrs old. No wonder she’s good.
If shes still playing tennis at 13 years old ill be surprised

I hope she grows taller. She will need height.
To summarize: be super young or be in super shape, otherwise say goodbye to your early preparation :)
Or just in half good shape
Did Patrick pay her for this lessons ?😂👍
I think she would beat Patrick in a match
how many times did you say "good job" here? After a while you are just not serious anymore...

Lol you gotta love the comments from the great coaches from the university of TH-cam comment section 😂
