When Tommy was falling into lava, he was drinking a fire resistance potion, the name speaks for itself. In any Minecraft server, the owner has access to the console which can do the same functions for OP so if Dream was to ban himself, he would just use the console and unban himself right away.

I'd recommend the one called "Tubbo and Fundy saving Dream from Dream's inside demon (Dream SMP)" by xSplaf as it's a shortened down version of Tubbo's stream. There's also Fundys perspective called "so I hunted dream..." however it is shorter.
It's a bit off topic but if you want to get to know more about the cast of dsmp, HBmb94 has a thing called L'cast (kinda a podcast) that introduces the people behind the characters. It only has about 4 'episodes' right now, you don't have to react to it, you could just watch it in your spare time
