T-Rex was big in the UK, not so much in the US. Marc Bolan, the lead singer who wrote most of their music, died young in a car accident. Try "20th Century Boy", "Children Of The Revolution", "Ride A White Swan".

Fun Fact: In the UK, this hit #1 on July 24, 1971, giving T. Rex their second chart-topper there, following "Hot Love." The band's American record company, Reprise, dragged their feet on the song and didn't release it until January 1972. It went to #10 in March, but ended up being the group's only significant hit Stateside. In the UK, they had two more #1s - "Telegram Sam" and "Metal Guru" - and a total of 11 Top 10s.

The early incarnation of this band was a hippie duo called Tyrannosaurus rex that played songs about Middle Earth and elves and all men are a cool s***, completely different vibe. When bowling added electric guitar and a full band, the songs got much edgier and T-Rex became quite a phenomenon especially in england. Bolan was an excellent excellent songwriter, and a good friend of David Bowie as they both were contemporaries in the nightclub scene and what not coming up. You have to remember Bowie's early Incarnation was pretty much long hair hippie stuff as well..... they both found and pushed each other Glam wise and are both really Pioneers in that scene

    Wikipedia:
Reginald Maurice Ball (12 June 1941 - 4 February 2013), known professionally as Reg Presley, was an English singer and songwriter. He was the lead singer with the 1960s rock and roll band the Troggs, whose hits included "Wild Thing" (#1 on the Hot 100 on 30 July - 6 August 1966) and "With a Girl Like You" (#1 on the UK Official Singles Chart on 4-11 August 1966). He wrote the song "Love Is All Around", which was featured in the films Four Weddings and a Funeral and Love Actually.
Wet Wet Wet's 1994 cover of the latter 1967 song "Love Is All Around" stayed at No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart for fifteen weeks.

This was covered in the 80s by a band called the power station which was kind of a NuWave supergroup made up of members from Duran duran, singer Robert Palmer and a bit of a revolving door in the drum throne. Semi-Officially T. Rex were classified as Glam Rock. They were on a tear for a couple of years and then unfortunately Lead Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter Mark Bolan was involved in a fatal car crash. And he was the fatality. And that was that. There is very good footage of T. Rex live at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, back in the day.

Here's a new band to check out, if interested. "John Mayhall & The Bluesbreakers with Gary Moore - So Many Roads" (by the channel: SR L) --This song by John Mayhall & The Bluesbreakers, featuring Gary Moore is a powerful blues track and was performed live at the 2008 Montreux Jazz Festival and showcases the incredible talent of both artists Mayhall and Gary Moore. Funfact: John Mayhall & The Bluesbreakers Band played a significate role in shaping the British blues and rock scene. Many of the best-known bands to come out of Britain in the 1960's and 70's had members who came through the Bluesbreakers at one time, such as great guitarists like Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Taylor and Bassist John McVie (Fleetwood Mac) and Jack Bruce (Of the band Cream) to name a few.

There are earlier Tyrannosaurus Rex songs that I'm still not sure why I like them.

I think the line "she's built like a car", while initially offensive, might refer to something like a Ferrari 250gto. You know, she's small and has Great lines, and when you see it ,you just want to drive the WHEELS OFF IT!! 😂😂❤❤

You’ve done T-Rex and Slade, how about Tigerfeet by Mud for more classic British glam rock

I don''t see it, but if you haven't done Humble Pie, you should. Their album, Smokin is one of the best and every song is worthy of listening to. Thanks!

That guitar sound is definitely Rolling Stones/Keith Richards-like, and not surprisingly I've read that the Stones liked T-Rex. It's a classic.

You should listen to their 1969:
“King of The Rumbling Spires”My favorite rock band of all time. I have ALL their music from early Tyrannosaurus Rex to every Marc solo work. I’m from Texas - no one else here knew who T.Rex we’re back then!
