Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement 10 years old - Michael Ng

10 YEARS LATER: Cambridge vlogging • Day in the Life of a C...
This is the 3rd Movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. At the time, I learnt it myself so the mistakes were not my piano teacher's fault!
I played it at a resource centre when I was 10 years old. I acknowledge that at the time, it was not very good yet, but I hope you enjoy it! Please comment and check out my other videos!

Hey hey stop implying he's bad he's 10 years old he's playing a difficult piece and he's playing for ELDERS now how great is that, anyone noticed ?? Everybody is playing music for their own success and self confidence, just give him credits for doing his best with one of the greatest purpose.
Or you could just encourage him to do better, he might have a bright future AND a good heart.
and he was playing it faster also

Perception, accuracy, tempo, most importantly the presentation of the emotional theme of the music. Every one of those things should come before the speed to perfect a fast pace classical Piece.

100% of the comments, 'skill level Asian'
0% of the comments' 'wow he's a good player!'
Frank McNally actually 0.1%
Cause he is not a good player.
Captain Faggini yes I noticed that as well, he’s very quick and not really playing in the right tempo. Plus, you can tell he’s not very passionate about playing the song, he looks too focused.. (but this song takes a large amount of focus so I can’t really blame him on that part) but overall, he’s a really good player, but it’s kinda forced
Honestly, mad respect to this kid but he needs to work on his tempo, rhythm, emotion, tone, and dynamics. Those should go first before speed. But I guess I can’t really call him a kid since I am also ten.

Don't get me wrong, this is just extremely impressive, but as a pianist myself, I have to ask, what is the point of playing faster than normal, when you are going to make a thousand mistakes? It's much better to play slower but with much less mistakes. Nevertheless, I am very impressed, surprised even, that he can play such a difficult piece at a very young age.

There's really grown ass adults on here criticizing a 10 year old for playing an extremely difficult piece. This dude was easily at the top 1% of his age group when this was made. So what if it's fast? I think it was enjoyable to listen to nonetheless
I agree, it’s an amazing achievement
He’s amazing and all but it’s kinda odd that their was no emotion whatsoever in the song.
You would think someone capable of doing this would put emotion into it.
Random N7 Dude having technical skill and prowess doesn’t automatically allow you to sink your emotions into a piece. He had fun playing it and that’s good enough for now. Being so young, it’s still too soon for him to truly play with emotion needed for this piece.
I mean good that he’s got this down, he has a couple of mistakes in there though and he has the opportunity to fix them. Not the best performance imo, but you gotta give respect to the kid for even attempting to play this. I’m planning on learning this piece soon.
I dont want to brag but I could play this and other difficult pieces (Waldstein... Rage over a löst penny) by Beethoven at age 9 - 11
