- King Charles is set to make his first visit to Australia as its head of state this week.
The King and Queen will arrive on Friday for their six-day tour of the country.
Ahead of Their Majesties’ visit, a new poll has been released suggesting King Charles’ popularity has risen in the country.
One in four respondents had a more favourable view of the monarch now than they did before he was crowned in 2023.

Wrong. The UK government does not answer to the monarch, but the monarch does play a role in the UK government. The UK is a constitutional monarchy meaning the monarch is the Head of State, but does not have political power. Instead, the elected parliament makes and passes laws. In fact it's the other way around the monarch has to answer the government. Let's take if King Charles wanted to abdicate he has to go to parliament to get their permission.

Why replace someone who has been preparing to do the job since day one and serving their people, for a selfish politician who won't last long enough to truly learn to love their people? A republic is just as expensive and filled with rats looking to benefit themselves only. But if they ever choose to do it, they will see it for themselves.
A republic would actually be far more expensive and would not bring money into the UK as the RF does. They also act as Ambassadors, friends of countries, helps in trade relations and of course all the charitable work the British Royal Family do
It's not a replacement. IT is merely getting rid of part of the government. IT will be the same establishment only without the monarch. In HM's other Realms, he is not really present and their activity is quite minimal. It's very different to the UK. That said, it is still the form of government they have and it is part of their history and tradition. But those Realms going republican is not going to change much in the way of how the country is already run. Their leader is already their PM. Their monarch rarely makes an appearance or "serves" them through charity work as they do in the UK. I'm not saying they don't do anything, but it is not the same. Even Prince Phillip mentioned this when he was alive, but it will cost a lot to get rid of their historical government structure and part of the origins of their nation for no improvement whatsoever in how they are governed and likely changes they probably will not like considering what has recently been happening if they want to open their constitution to amendments.

In a democracy, which Australia is everyone is entitled to vote! The last vote was 1999 and the majority opted for Australia to remain a Monarchy.

As with any democratic country, they are free to decide their Head of State and if they decide it is not to be HM King Charles III that's fine. Honestly, it was after having a Cheeto as my head of state that I began to truly understand the power and poignancy or having a head of state who is truly above politics. The monarchy may face its own struggles, but I think it still retains useful diplomatic tool
That sounds nice, but an unelected, unaccountable head of state who meddles in politics and hands over powers that undermine your democracy is nothing like what you describe. At least the orangutan in chief is constitutionally limited to two terms, *and* accountable to both Congress and your electorate.

And people ought to be able to understand why they do that, and why they are not being advised by those entities to intervene. People voted for that guy at the end of the day. Then again, look at the choices. And that is all part of the system. People are never satisfied anyway. You have a monarch who uses his power or has power, people say it is tyrannical, and one man should not be overriding Parliament, the gov, etc. You have a monarch who doesn't exercise his power, and people ask why he doesn't. What do they really want or expect from the establishment?

The Titles Removal Bill was a Private Members' Bill to begin with, meaning that it automatically does not get the same time as other more important bills, so it was not likely to ever pass anyway. Can you prove that the PM had anything to do with that? Even if he did, that is a frivolous matter compared to other matters at hand in Parliament. You have to be very out of touch not to recognize that. That has nothing to do with the powers that Charles does have and what people expect him to do and why he will never do that of his own accord.
