Don't forget burqas and clothing that fully covers the body, add a face veil too for good measure. Wouldn't want any impressionable men catching sight of any ankles, wrists, or eyes. They might become predators.
Clothing choices are fine. But things representing real life diseases have no place in a fantasy setting, specially things that people would rather not have
@xavierhouston4650 npcs having diseases is a different thing, you putting diseases in your own fantasy character is fking deranged behavior. You're trying to do escapism even if you have them in real life you wouldn't want them ideally
Xqc actually talked about this on his Kick stream and he made a good point for once, The CEO was actually 100% correct, modern games love to impose morals on gamers while we as gamers just want to play an actual fun game. Gaming "Journalists" has been a plague on this industry.
@@KazuhikoYoshioka it’s because they are designed by women. Hasn’t anyone noticed the pattern yet? Edit: I can tell people are still locked in the narrative. The idea that all of this comes from women is still too taboo to acknowledge by the critics of these trends. You guys still don’t have the balls to admit what’s happening.
Made this point before but I’ll make it again. TH-camrs like Asmon are actually doing more journalism than the so-called game journalists - checking out games in beta, playing through newly released games beyond the first 2 chapters, and even breaking news from a CEO without even trying (he commented on his own accord). That’s why they are mad at him and gaming channels in general - they are losing eyeballs to competition. Dying industry is lashing out, but they have only themselves to blame for losing readers’ trust.
They got really creative with this one. Next, were going to have an option of a pimple of one of the devs in a specific area to turn on/off. Like, how do they even come up with stuff like this?
I don't think the majority of the population (not just gamers) likes these 'journalists' that just clickbait titles in order to make a 2000 word essay about something that can be explained in 200 words about something that's been misconstrued.
I legit think these so called journalists think they could land a job at FOX News or MSNBC or god forbid CNN, but they gotta do entry level work hence they apply for game journalism
Nobody goes into surgery wanting to be left with scars, they're an unfortunate side effect that surgeons go to great lengths to eliminate. Wanting to have scars as a form of identification is cult-like behavior.
People who have undergone medically necessary surgery understand this (like me!), people who glorify, peddle and use their surgery as a narcissistic talking point...don't.
@@c.karnstein3299 I would imagine knowing someone who's had a medically necessary surgery, especially family, would be able to understand this, too, but maybe that's just me.
It doesn't help that the game wont go any further to it with stuff like side effects, some that can be debilitating of going through such a procedure. Selling an ideallised, incomplete, fantastical picture instead of actual representation.
100 maxed out slider is the most flat unappealing non sexual female butt the woke devs could tolerate. Cut them some slack. Its not easy being a complete prude.
I've had severe eczema my entire life and my entire body is covered in scars. Having clear and beautiful skin is something that practically only games can provide me at this point. I genuinely have no idea why anyone would want to add things that might reflect their own real life trauma into a fantasy world...
And they think they're doing you a favor, they expect your reaction to be, "finally, a game where the character represents me!" Like you can't enjoy a game unless you can put eczema on the character. Because that's how they feel about their gender or lack thereof
Because I'm fairly certain trans people arent asking for this either. It's just morons lacking empathy self flagellating about how they're so diverse and inclusive whilst completely ignoring the plight of the very people they claim to represent. 'Trans people have scars, let's represent that!' As if trans people want to be reminded of their old life in any capacity and wouldnt rather just be born as the opposite sex from the get-go.
the only person I know who had that done now regrets cutting their boobs off and is no longer taking testosterone and wants to have kids....this stuff is literally a mind virus that hurts and ruins people's lives
It's doubly funny because a mastectomy is also a life saving and traumatic procedure for many women, but they couldn't even call it that. Just "top surgery" because the only reason for it is for trans people, of course. I'm just surprised more women aren't fed up with this yet.
It's doubly funny because the procedure is also a life saving and traumatizing surgery for many women but they couldn't even call it by name, because I guess it's just for gender reassignment. I'm surprised more women aren't fed up with this yet.
The director of Veilguard is trans if you didn't know. You were a bioware fan? Have you forgotten that bioware has always pushed the boundaries of progressive ideology since 2007? Asari being all female? Gay character in mass effect 3? This is nothing new
The "body type A and B" choice to replace male and female is them trying to make everything about their trans supremacy worldview. They're not victims anymore.
I don't know what killed my little remaining hope for this game harder. The top surgery scars, which were stupid, or the fact that a 100% ass is barely 10% of your average Latina.
Even if you are a transman, wouldn't you want to just play a male? Isn't that the whole dang point? We don't need trans characters in games because you can just play as a character of the sex you identify with.
Because you don't need to, just play an average game that contains stamina. You're almost guaranteed to not be able to sprint for more than 2 seconds. 🤣
Which is hilarious because Bioware was already on borrowed time after multiple flops. You’d think they’d straighten up for their last chance but nope..
@mikev8746 I'd say let them destroy themselves. The people who made the best games in that studio have long exited, so this is what we're left with... just a bunch of activists developers that care more about they're preaching rather than their own jobs.

@@GooseBibleTunes how does that matter for video games? And besides we can't change, sorry that's how reality works. You can want to be anything, but that doesn't make it possible

What I don't get with the top scars or anything with representation in games is why would you choose to represent what you are now and not what you want to be.
Two reasons come to mind. 1) relatability - some people like to play a character that looks as much like them as possible, even if that is not an ideal look. 2) fet1sh - some people transition because of that, and they like the unusual appearance. Like people who desecrete their body in other ways for example - extreme piercings, split tongue, weirdly colored sclera... that kinda thing.
Yeah, if they wanna be so inclusive, where's the ability to be an amputee? A little person? Where's the Down syndrome, schizophrenia, Parkinsons? Almost like the agenda matters more than the effort put in, for these "modern audiences" of 5 people@@weareharbinger914
Unless DA: Gayguard is a massive flop. In that case Bioware might close down. Their last 2 games were massive flops, a third one might be the final nail in the coffin.
Seriously no thought went into this at all. In Dragon Age, Shapeshifter is literally the name of one of the six schools of magic. A shapeshifter manual cost 12 frigging gold! This allows you to turn into different animals or even a swarm of insects. Let me reiterate that, mages in Dragon Age can transform themselves into a swarm of wasps. But it didn't occur to those devs that, if someone wants to change gender in their fantasy universe, they'd just use magic???
Unfortunately, Morrigan explains that can't happen. She basically says that she has a human form and so gains nothing by studying other humans as she would an animal.
@@giantWario And to add to your point: Who cares? Why can they change the appearance of the Qunari every iteration of the lore, but can't just say that magic can turn a man into a woman? If this was a series that took its lore seriously and held to everything as hard rules, yeah I could see it mattering that someone in the first game said something about how magic works. But DA has never been very consistent.
@giantWario No, she tells you she cannot get another human form. I've got every achievement across nearly 3000 hours on this game. Trust me. I'm not saying this in defence of the scarring btw, I think it's really stupid and immersion breaking.

This reminds me about the wheelchairs in DND debacle. The issue wasn't that DND players are ableist, the issue is wheelchairs are mundane and only usable on flat level surfaces like what you'll never find yourself walking on while adventuring outside of a city. Hell even 90's X-men understood the tactical, practical, and artistic limitations of a wheelchair and gave Xavier a hover chair. Besides, why would you want a wheelchair when you can be carried by undead thralls or be mounted on a war hippo, or I don't know, *_ASK THE CLERIC TO HEAL YOUR LEGS?_*
Wheelchair-bound folks' most sincere and deepest desire is to get rid of the damn thing and never see it again, ever. No matter how cool of a concept you create for it, they will always prefer a pair of healthy legs clad with the most mundane of boots. Yet, a very specific, "liberal and loving" sort of people is hellbent to push them back in their prison even whilst playing a game to escape for a bit from their 24/7 reality, and then call it a "good, kind and moral" thing because of "representation".
No shot. We’re playing Curse of Strahd and one of our players made a rogue that was going to be wheelchair bound as they do sneak attacks from their chair but our DM thought that was dumb and worked to give him a Flesh Gollum as their mobility device instead.

The far better question would be, who would even be able to perform such a not insignificantly dangerous operation in the first place? Also, what about post OP recovery and care. Amputations like that in a fantasy world where operation tools, wound dressings and/or recovery rooms can not be made sterile like today? What about pain medication and anesthesia? Yeah, have fun with a very painful operation, that is likely to kill you and even if you survive, an infection afterwards can still kill you. Oh, and lots and lots of pain.
Or they could, you know, just make/play a character of their preferred gender? But no. They just have to make things more complicated, while showing everyone else that they don't understand the concept of fantasy. 🤡
Not gonna happen. The Canadian government will bail them out like always. To them, companies like Bioware are too useful as a propaganda producer. They'll keep them around to continue pumping out products that are pozzed with liberal agenda. Same with Ubisoft. Even if the new Assassin's Creed flops, France and Canada will keep them afloat. Liberalism has infiltrated into every facet of our lives now, it's too late. It's only a matter of time until eventually people with traditional morals die out and get replaced with newer generations who are thoroughly brainwashed past the point of no return and have known nothing but liberalism all their lives. The writing is on the wall for the western society.

It's canon via TWO DA:I characters - Dorian and Krem mentioned it - but nope, we had to remove blood magic because "it's eeeeeevil'. Even health poultices could heal broken bones and internal bleeding in DA:O, but they were removed from the franchise in DA:2. By DA:I we're stuck with "chirurgeons" in tents, but even THEY had spirit healers in the wealthier parts of Thedas. Apparently even healing potions don't work now, because they can't even heal a character that's bruised up in the intro of the game until the END OF ACT 1. I just hope Dragon age's failure ends quick enough that they can do as much course correction as possible on Mass Effect.
Bioware's been pretty good with ignoring everything outside their social bubble for years. I forgot which of the Dragon Age games it was, but in one of the DLCs, it had a trans sex worker reference the player character going all out at the brothel they worked at. That was fine for anyone who did that, but it made no sense for the other players who didn't. People thought it was a bug until the devs admitted they didn't bother coding in any dialog for any other option because they couldn't imagine anyone not going all out at the brothels.
Sad part was Dragon Age was a very diverse game. Humans, Elves, Dwarfs, even Qunari. Your party always had a diverse group of people with their stories to tell. Plus the lands you visted stoof out. Orzamar was amazing, Kirkwall was impressive and even Orlais had the French vibe. To see it disgraced because of the need of a modern audience shows how much the general public has been neglected.
I don’t understand having trans characters in game for representation. If someone identifies as male or female in real life, they’d simply choose that same option in a game if they wanted to feel like playing themselves.
Because this is well beyond the point where being trans means you identify as the opposite gender as it now includes extensive body modification to be as sexless and non human as possible. For these people the scars are a thing to celebrate because they are into self multilation. Kinda like those people with excessive tattoo's and piercings, or those who get extensive cosmetic surgery and look like aliens, they are no different to them... They just try to gaslight everyone into thinking it's a natural state of the human condition (which it is clearly is not.) This mainly stems from the "non-binary" lable... so you find women getting their breasts removed because breasts are too primitive and vulgar for their new gender identity so they get them removed and flaunt the scars as they "ascend" beyond humanity. Not even kidding because this is the ideology, they are trans-humanists just hiding under the trans lable and trying to idoctrinate others into their cult of ascension.

It's not that it's too mundane for a fantasy setting. It's that these game devs are uplifting something as good and desirable that is neither good nor desirable. And it's not just the scars, but also the prevalence of fat, ugly, and disabled characters. These are not _good_ things, they are not something that anyone should aspire to. No one wants to grow up to be in a wheelchair, or to have a face like a Picasso painting. There is something fundamentally _wrong_ with a person if they are seeking these things out. And that's exactly what's happening when these very things are being presented as playable options. They are catering to people who _want_ to be disable, fat, or ugly. And to people who _want_ these scars. Not the tissue reduction, _the scars._
Almost no one is seeking to be like this, though. It's just that the people who happen to be like this want really hard for everyone else to pretend it is a good thing, rather than a bad thing.
Pretty sure people with the scars would rather not have those scars anyway. The game director who didn’t even play or know any characters from origins is trans so they had to put this in because they have scars so they need to push their insecurities out into the world to show “I’m normal”.
yeah, goodtimeswithscar is a good example. He said once that he prefer fanart where he is not in a wheelchair, because he doesn't see the wheelchair as a part of him. Even though he is forced to spend his entire life in one.
@@avantesma1 X to doubt. The goal of trans people has always been to fully transition. They don't want to be trans, they want to be the opposite sex. There are zero reasons to offer trans character options to such people, so those options must exist to appeal to someone else. Someone who _does_ want to be trans. Someone who does not want to become the opposite sex, but rather to remain in that transitional state. To put it into perspective, imagine someone who is arachnophobic. They do not like spiders. They want to stay as far away from spiders as they can. Now imagine someone who calls themselves arachnophobic, and absolutely _loves_ getting close to spiders and freaking out. They enjoy screaming and flailing as the spiders crawl all over them. It gets them _hard._ And so to accommodate those people, video games start adding "arachnophobic" options where you can have spiders crawling all over your character. _That's_ what we're looking at here.
Its because they do not identify as a male or female, they identify as trans because that is how they get all their attention and special privileges so they want to have that in the game too. I am willing to bet that there will be at least one interaction in the game where the scars can be brought up for some exclusive bonus/reward from NPCs or at minimum, some sympathy, encouragement and praise for the PC being such a brave and unique individual.... thats basically the "modern" trans persons wet dream after all, the only thing missing is being able to berate and be justified to publicly cause a scene if someone uses the wrong pronoun they decided for that day but perhaps that will also be a feature! The ability to shame a NPC for mistakenly assuming the player characters gender RPG have never been more inclusive!
I'm a guy with anorexia problems and I have a bigger booty than those characters in dragon age. This idea that one needs to have a small booty to appease society is not different than putting scarves on women and forcing them to be subordinate to men. Idk how these developers choose not to see it. The purpose of the extremists and these programmers always aligns to yield in a broken world, whether it is a video game or Afghanistan.
Stay on the grindset, king. Remember each day is a new challenge and new opportunity. Don't worry about what happened in the past, and what might come in the future. Stay in the present moment, and it'll help. You were put on this earth with an opportunity. It's not easy. But, I'd say since we're all here, we might as well try to make something out of it.

The game was driving around the desert in a convertible, camping, earing ramen noodles and taking selfies as a hipster with 4 hipsters friends. If i wanted to do these things i would go rent a convertible and find 3 broke hipsters to drive around with (i wouldn't have to look far). It wasn't a fantasy game it was a "final" fantasy game. I tell ya just mind blowing stuff i mean the level of imagination was astounding.
Dang, I didn't realize rl had magic and summons and giant yellow chickens and the ability to teleport around and all that crazy shit. I need to move to west Texas if that's the life you live.
FF15 is a boyband especially early on. The rest is just tropes with little innovation. A skeleton FF storyline. Happens when the money is in gameplay and graphics, and the people who approve story or writers don't have taste.
This studio was slowly dying since EA bought them. Their last very good game was released in 2010. And their recent track record is terrible. Andromeda was mediocre at best and a partial financial flop, Anthem was a total failure.
@@PolengueGabe an old school guy though. It's these other new devs that get hired and promoted not because they are competent developers, but because the publishers are favouring these social activists instead of professionals. It’s not even that it’s a stupid addition that literally no one will use. It’s that this wouldn’t be happening in a medieval fantasy setting. It’s a waste of time and isn’t immersive.
This implies that surgery, fairly advanced surgery I might add, exists. If it was more privative the entire Pec might be a massive scar. In a world where magic is shown to very easily heal pretty serious wounds, and also do it mostly scar less. There is just so many layers of this being stupid and not making sense. If you take the Razor to it and try to think of how would someone go about this in this world, well the first answer would be Magic. Make a spell / curse / potion that changes gender. This would be ideal because it would be a full, 100% swap. The second option, if that didn't work, would be to do a healing assisted surgery, in which case the scars would be non-existent. Finally RL surgery, which implies a lot of things that Dragon Age was never shown to have. Finally, it's being done, bluntly, for cosmetic reasons, it's not like their life is threatened for not being the correct gender (I am aware that this procedure is done for Breast Cancer, but it being called "Top Surgery" that isn't the intent here). This is assuming a Medieval Fantasy culture would even allow this kind of use of presumably limited resources in the healers case, or culturally even accept a sex change intentionally.
@@Orrissan I didn't even think of magic healing to the point of no scarring. Great point. And yeah, I was going to mention the obvious medieval culture shock, but didn't have the time at that moment. Medieval people were not tolerant. People have never been tolerant.
@@Orrissan In DA we're not even talking about low fantasy power systems where it's all combat focused, in which case healing magic invalidates the need for surgery. It's high fantasy where people can change forms and use magic to their benefit within or without combat. Even if you were born masc and wanted to be more fem you could literally just cast illusion magic to make yourself appear fem, hide scars or augment your body composition. I also dont think it's very well thought out. I'm sure that a trans person would want to be reminded within their escapism of their birth sex. I'm sure that wont create negative emotions and constantly remind them of something that they've made a life endeavour to change /s.
Not to mention if you're trans, why wouldn't you just choose the sex you want? The whole point of them is supposed to be escaping their body, if the logic follows, being reminded of it would make them more inclined to commit suicide, not that they have a good chance of not doing so regardless.
@@Spartan322 That's the issue. The fake trans people who only do it for clout don't actually care about changing sex. They just want the clout and power that comes with it. Hell, if I could make millions just because I put a wig and some lipstick on, I would.

Oh no, canonically, you CAN have flawless top surgery via a mix of blood magic and spirit healing. That's what's making me so cranky about this one.
And why does it have to be a token attention grabber in the main creation menu? Why is it not under "scars" in the dropdown like all the other scars?? I actually think it'd be kind of cool to know nothing about it and then see it randomly under the scars dropdown, but nope. We have to be obnoxious and tokenistic about it.

They just try to gaslight everyone into thinking it's a natural state of the human condition (which it is clearly is not.)
This mainly stems from the "non-binary" lable... so you find women getting their breasts removed because breasts are too primitive and vulgar for their new gender identity so they get them removed and flaunt the scars as they "ascend" beyond humanity.

It's not that they are mundane. The world is magic. Magic. And they're doing surgery to alter their body
So even when you can choose your sex/gender they think it's important to have an identity related to transitioning. I find that fascinating
I've long since mourned the company Bioware used to be.
They've been gone for a long time, friend. I believe the first Dragon Age was the last game Bioware made before their original team took off.
😢😢
@@ShmoofWB Very few devs survived until recently (they were fired to make place for these new activists). Most left after Mass Effect 3 though including original creators of Bioware.
They were always kinda shit, it just wasn't as blatant, but it stung the eyes of those who could see even back when.
