Did you know about using the numbers on the screen to adjust the diopter?

It has been like looking through drizly rain until I watched this video. Thank you thank you thank you! Cue the music...I can see clearly now the rain has gone.

That is awesome. I have to adjust it often because it seems to get moved while in my bag.

Thank you for this awesome tip! I knew about the diopter and had adjusted it to my eye, but I need reading glasses and I had to continually take them off and on between shots. I've adjusted the diopter as you suggested, using the second method whilst wearing my glasses and wow! viewfinder is in focus and I no longer need to remove my glasses whilst shooting! Thank you again.

Good video, I have known this for 25years from my Nikon F80 film camera and yes the way to adjust is by the numbers not the focus but both work and no I am not a professional photographer I just know from experience

It is surprising how many people don't know this little trick.

Thank you for providing this video. On my old Canon Rebel EOS 75, I see 2 white rectangles behind each other in the viewfinder that move together to form one image as I adjust the diopter. Is that setting unique to my camera or should I use your technique with this old camera?

I am not familiar with the EOS 75. If you have a diopter dial ( you probably do ) pay attention to those boxes to see if their focus changes as you move the diopter. If you meant EOS 7 then it should be the same as my camera.

@@PracticingPhotography It looks like the model is actually a T5 not a 75 like I mentioned.

If your button is stuck, I would try canned air maybe to blow out any dust. Don't force it. If you need it adjusted and you can't free it up, I would suggest finding a local camera business that can work on cameras. They may need to open it up to free it up.
