About to buy an L5P, call me crazy or dumb but would it help to take a center punch to the oil filter and let it drain? (Ive done this on 8.3 Cummins due to the size of the filter) Then take a small piece of duct tape over the hole then proceed to remove? I guess I’m just trying to figure a way to make the least amount of mess 😂 Also I’d highly recommend the fumoto drain valve, no more drain plug. Also the fleece fuel filter upgrade, the l5P fuel filters are A MESS to change and also have filter failures.
If your truck has already been sitting for hours why would you start it up to warm up the oil? All the oil that could possibly be in the pan is there already and won’t burn you if you’re careless. Wasted move.

I would love to do ALL of my own maintenance. Saves a shit ton of money that way. Oil changes aren’t bad tho! 🫶🏼
