Should have said ‘why do cameras get placed on perfectly straight roads that are marked too slow but never in streets where kids play and horns go like they are racing someone’ If cameras are for road safety, why are people dying on roads increasing?
Congestion and population will increase the road toll. But the road toll is going up slower than population should make it. But yes, many cameras are in silly places and instead of targeting everyone, instead make the penalties for those that cause issues harsher. I guarantee I can use a phone while driving and still be better and safer than half the road users I see. It's ridiculous that using a phone is a bigger penalty than being an actual dangerous bad driver.
Having to give cyclists 1.5m distance🤔… how about cyclists can only ride 2 abreast on roads limited to 40km/h, only 1 abreast on roads between 40-60km/h, all cyclists must single file use the shoulder on roads above 60km/h (no shoulder-no riding). Roads are built for motorists, designed for motorists and paid for… by motorists!! The focus of cyclist safety whilst important, is second to the priority of motorists utilising these roads and without the safety risk these cyclists put themselves in!!

In South Australia you cannot ride e-scooters on ANY public road or pathway. They are ONLY legal on *private* property - with the owners' permission, if it's not your property. And the fine for doing so IS $1,500.00 - for "driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle" . There may be new rules/laws coming out... but until then - IIWII. In S.A., The speed limit when passing an emergency vehicle on the side of the road, with it's lights flashing is 25 Km/h. The barefoot driving thing has always been allowed with the mentioned stipulations. I have even driven in thongs (or whatever YOU call 'em - the footwear) but that is defo NOT the safest way to drive, so I only did it a couple of times. The thongs can move unpredictably.... and even fall off and get tangled up in your pedals... barefoot is much safer.
Victoria's stance on push bikes and e-scooters on footpaths is out of date and dangerous .50kg of 14yo child on a 10kg bike or e-scooter? The state says the child is safer mingling with B-Doubles on a roadway than using the footpath. It's all good though, the child will be protected with a line of paint in some places. If something goes wrong, the child's helmet will protect them from being crushed by 60 tonnes of truck.
@@JasondenHollander-qj5hp "Scooters flying past" pedestrians on footpaths is an infrastructure problem. Australia's transport infrastructure problems are the result of lack spineless politicians. The leading cause of child death in Australia is cars and motorists. Motorists are found partially or wholly at fault in over 80% of collisions with pedestrians, but that doesn't matter here because the majority of kids killed in car crashes were a passenger in a car. Drivers of cars and trucks kill 1000+ people annually in Australia, seriously injure 5000+, cause over 50% of all annual TBI's, and cause an unknown number of minor injuries. Literally an unknown number because our govts care so little that we don't keep proper statistics at a national level. 10000+ Australians die annually from respiratory and other medical conditions caused by vehicle pollution. Families in Australia's outer suburbs are forced to spend 25%+ of their annual household income on car ownership. The mental health of Australian children is the 3rd worst of all OECD countries, with most Australian kids unable to independently venture outside thanks to the dangers created by cars. The solution to all of these problems is to stop prioritising cars, speed, and motorist convenience above all else in our cities... right? Nah lets ban e-scooters and crack down on cyclists for existing.
Question for the kind officer - how many fines for scooters on the footpath or not wearing a helmet has he personally issued over the past year? 0 out of the hundreds of times he's seen it I would guess?
I have a question How is it safe for police to travel trice the speed limit through the suburbs and or running red lights to pull a driver over for a minor offence
Hear all the money grabbing. Over $200 for not wearing a helmet. How does getting a fine in the mail months later save anyone? Most people can't remember the offence.
@imalwaysright so you've only been done for speeding once? If more well I guess you didn't learn your lesson and the Government gets more money to waste and put up more cameras "to save live" (make money more like it).
How is wearing a helmet that hard? The rest of Australia has to pay for the medical bills when you get hurt due to no helmet. Be a adult and put on a helmet
Q is it ok for the vic state to spend every cent ever made + 180 billion on this crap 🤔 answer no taxes were always roads and rubbish now its everything and the kitchen sink 🤔
The bare foot law is completely retarded, you have the best feel and response without shoe's. I was told in QLD it's not allowed, but that was 20yrs ago. I believe it's the safest way to drive. I nearly had an accident because the heel of my work boot was stuck in the floor mat grooves. Bare feet is the safest option and everyone should do it, if you don't then try it, you'll soon come around.
1.5 meters for cyclists?!? Just give them their own lane while your at it. The roads are for cars, cyclists dont pay to be on the road. It makes sense the people who pay to use the roads take priority.
Most cyclists own cars too. I own a car and 2 motorcycles, all of which I pay rego for. Does that mean I have 3 times as much right as you if you only have one car? Share the road mate.
@RealHooksy ahh what?? Your brain works in a weird way. That had nothing to do with what I was saying. Silly comment. The point I was making flew straight over your head. Try to read and think about it before comment straight away and looking as if you have no clue. It has nothing to do with the amount of regos your paying for.
Road safety is multi faceted, but the powers that be choose to focus on the easiest and biggest earners. My list would include. Terrible road surfaces. Terrible road layout and street signage. Driver training. Driver refresher training, or lack of. In car distractions of most modern vehicles. These have grown to an unacceptable level, with huge touch screens etc. Your mobile phone is nothing compared to these. Driver aids in cars. Dumb down the driver's ability, and in fact can often be more harmful that good. Stupid road rules. Like the one for passing a cyclist. The disparity of speed between the bike and the car causes the driver to drive erratically in such encounters to comply with this if no clear passing position eventuates. You either have to slam on the brakes behind the bike or take a chance out wide in oncoming traffic to pass. Ill thought out, nonsense legislation. Other distractions. Obsession with speed monitoring. Australia has this weird thing with varying speed limits. In on short stretch of road a speed limit can go through eight variations. I had never seen this madness anywhere before. You spend more time trying to work out what the limit is, and looking at the speedo, than watching what else is happening. Because the police set up radar on the change points to catch the unwary. This is often entering built-up areas where you should be concentrating on other vehicles, pedestrians etc. Instead the emphasis is on the speedo and not getting fined. But according to authorities in most cases it is speed. Anyone with half a brain could poke holes in that argument, but it is an easy and profitable option. Little effort is made to solve the bigger problems that may really reduce the road toll.
I think the scooter rule is incorrect, you can’t ride scooters on the road in QLD, this title is wrong, these are adjusted by Victorian police not the National road rules.
Now we know why the tint of police vehicles are so dark, it’s so they can use their phones driving while telling you not to use yours.

Cos pedestrians will be safer with scooters flying past. They don’t belong on roads either but they should just be banned
If you can’t ride an electric scooter on the footpath, and I’m assuming you can’t ride them on the road either, where is left to ride them?
The road
Down The Interstate
The Social Media team at the Hawks are the best
super informative! go hawks :)))
7:47 every cop ever
Nanny state
only lost 179 lives he says. Thailand looses that many every 2 weeks. Its marvelous what happens when they can steal your money
Can't compare Qld with Vic, 2 different country's
The ev scooter is not Australia wide? Maybe I missed something? Cos in the West many scooters on the pavement.
Be aware this only applies in Victoria all states have different regulations.
Question for the kind officer - how many fines for scooters on the footpath or not wearing a helmet has he personally issued over the past year? 0 out of the hundreds of times he's seen it I would guess?
These are all very basic road rule questions
Aski the police how much the BMW behind costs - with all the vicpol gear installed - I’m going to guess $400k
I have a question
How is it safe for police to travel trice the speed limit through the suburbs and or running red lights to pull a driver over for a minor offence
hit a cow that walks out onto the road and your charged with negligent driving the worlds most corupt laws
govern me harder daddy
Never stop for the cops on your pushbike.
Learn your Club history boys. I got one (cyclist knew 1m, not 1.5 over 60) got Yabby on the first clue
Is this a road safety quiz or some footy game?
Better driving barefoot than wearing thongs
Stop pulling people over on the freeway!!
I remember that crash
Surely its not hard to go on the off ramp. Instead they have everyone hit brakes from 100 to 40!!
Hear all the money grabbing. Over $200 for not wearing a helmet. How does getting a fine in the mail months later save anyone? Most people can't remember the offence.
When you get the fine, you’ll know not to do it again. .
@imalwaysright so you've only been done for speeding once? If more well I guess you didn't learn your lesson and the Government gets more money to waste and put up more cameras "to save live" (make money more like it).
Exactly, a fine a month later is useless. Just impound the bike instead, that would get the message along quickly
It's also apparently a fine for not running a red light if a thug needs to get his fine quota up. $720 for not running a red. Thanx.
More reasons for the federal government to change road rules, rego and licensing a single federal system!
Australian or Victorian?
The bare foot law is completely retarded, you have the best feel and response without shoe's. I was told in QLD it's not allowed, but that was 20yrs ago.
I believe it's the safest way to drive. I nearly had an accident because the heel of my work boot was stuck in the floor mat grooves. Bare feet is the safest option and everyone should do it, if you don't then try it, you'll soon come around.
I only wear thongs in the summer so bare feet driving it is 🙂
Q.Who am I?I don't fly any more I drive.A. Ginnispud.
I would fight and win some of these in court they contradict normal laws
I WAS 1K LIKE
What happened with the fire
The audio on this vidio is totally fucked
What did I just watch haha so weird
VicPol are all flops, glad i dont barrack for hawks lmao this is embarrasin
Then why are scooters and electric assistance vehicles not a registered licenced vehicles ?
They are on qld
I think the scooter rule is incorrect, you can’t ride scooters on the road in QLD, this title is wrong, these are adjusted by Victorian police not the National road rules.
if you didn't know they existed you shouldn't be driving
