Not only that, he even took on a teaching role, showing Gremmy, who's a very sheltered individual because of being placed in captivity due to his power, the joys of a straightforward fight.
In the manga it was pointed out and in the anime it was brushed over, kenpachi went and started fighting and nobody noticed him, compare that to the kenpachi he was at the start of the show, absolute no control as it was just leaking out, hell he has so much control now that he coulr hover in the soul society something that others can't do.
And also in last chapter arc kenpachi is shown more mature after the war he still love fighting but is calmer and know what he is doing unlike being a maniac
Michael there's a cut scene from the manga that shows Askin, PePe and Jugrams reaction to Gremmy dropping the meteor, with Askin and PePe saying Gremmy is a monster that is always locked up, only being released when truly needed. And the part where Jugram is usually so calm and collected but seeing the meteor got a reaction out of him.
Kenny just casually cutting through space itself 😂 The reason why Gremmy can't directly change Kenpachi's body like he did with Yachiru is because Kenny's reiatsu was too strong. And yeah, he did the entire fight with his eyepatch still on.
As far as i know, he's not anymore Kenpachi Zaraki. Kempachi basically means "strongest", and since Kenny comes from Zaraki district, he named himself "The Strongest from Zaraki" a.k.a. Zaraki Kenpachi. Now that he finally defeated Unohana and inherented the proper title, he's not merely "Zaraki Kenpachi" anymore; he's "The Kenpachi", the strongest.
He named himself Zaraki because he was from there, yes. It doesn't mean naming himself Kenpachi Zaraki meant that he named himself the strongest from Zaraki. His intent was to take the name of the district for himself and to claim the title of Kenpachi. He first laid claim to the title properly when he killed the 10th Kenpachi and the previous captain of Squad 11, Kenpachi Kiganjo. However with Unohana still living no one had truly claimed the title of Kenpachi as of yet. So his proper name would simply be Kenpachi despite his claim to the title due to Unohana being alive contesting that claim. Killing Unohana meant he was the sole true Kenpachi, hence he is still Kenpachi Zaraki. He is the Kenpachi from Zaraki Kenpachi Zaraki. Then in several thousand years he'll eventually pass on his title to someone he warrants worthy of being the next holder of the name Kenpachi.
Kenpachi doesn't mean strongest. The Kanjis used are 剣八 (ken and hachi). Ken means sword. Hachi means eight. Kenpachi means master of eight sword techniques. It's a title belonging to Unohana, which was then bestowed upon the next line of captains for Division 11, and reserved for the "strongest". The name "Kenpachi" doesn't mean strongest.
One more scene that was cut from manga was shinigami at the bottom of the stage talking how its weird how they couldnt sense Kenpachi's reiatsu at all until he started fighting Gremmy, implying he reached transcendant levels of reiatsu similar to Ichigo and Aizen. And then he suppressed himself to fight Gremmy, and then his reiastu could be sensed again
in the manga they couldn't feel Kenpachi's reiatsu when he first appeared and only after Gremmy raised the stage (therefore increasing the distance between the Shinigami and Kenpachi) were they able to feel it. so base Kenpachi with the eyepatch is probably at the same level of Reiatsu as Aizen was in his Chrysalis form.
When kenpachi asked yachiru "where're you from" she just touches the sword. Couple that with that fact that her shikai release is just a regular zanpakuto... very interesting indeed.

While this episode was AMAZING it cut a lot from the manga so that everything fits in one episode. Here are some things: In the manga, the power of "Vanishing Point" is explained more in detail. There is more focus on Yachiru's shikai which is a very important detail. The entire fight with Gremmy has more dialogue explaining the limits of his abilities. We have a conversation between two Sternritter talking about Gremmy and discussing the power of imagination. We also get the info that Gremmy was locked up because he was too dangerous. The meteor scene has way more impact, it is more drawn out and we see the entire Seireitei freaking out. Quincy and Shinigami soldiers stop fighting and run for their lives together. Bazz-B is utterly shocked, we see Yhwach's second in command Jugram screaming at soldiers to go and protect Yhwach. It feels a lot more scary in the manga.
True, but they were cuts I'm fine with because of the way the director has been handling TYBW. I'm willing to trust it's to make the rest of these episodes hit with a proper cliffhanger for the next cour

This ability is really a double edge sword... Whatever you'll imagine will literally happen, there's no choice on what or what's not to happen, whatever you imagine just flows.. Now think of it if you're a person who has this ability and suddenly you are having an intrusive thoughts.... This ability will doomed or kill you based on that intrusive thoughts 😂

@@The_BlOb he could've done it at the beginning of the fight and end Kenpachi right there. But he decided to have some fun and Kenpachi got in his head and he started to lose track. He's been locked up for all his life and was let out free for the first time and he was obviously just having the time of his life and didn't have any battle experience either

9 minutes into the vid and yeah. Gremmy's the actual and only sternritter V. He just imagined up a pet that thought IT was sternritter V. then as we saw, he killed it when it was defeated by yachiru
Gremmy’s abilities work on him as well since if he believes his opponent to be something it becomes reality as well; he is a top 3 SternRitter in my opinion.

Besides, Kenpachi being a savage is a huge understatement but at least he would never do what Head Captain Yamamoto did 1000 years ago. If you ask me, if Soul reapers fear the Head Captain's powers, then they're not ready for what's coming.

The rakugan thing gremmy mentioned are the equivalent of cookies. Also Nozarashi means Weather Beaten One. It more resembles an ax that has its top cut off. The curve of the bottom part of the blade if flipped makes that more apparent. He can also swing that heavy looking blade with no effort seeing as how the zanpakuto dont weigh anything to the person wielding it. Kenpachi never removed his eye patch either 😂
The power to turn imagination into reality literally makes you a god. The first time I saw it was from the main villain of an anime called 'The Law of Ueki' (one of the best anime, imo). You should watch it. You'll see the power come into play.
True. If he had double or triple of himself, he could have done it. Like how he couldn't create un-cuttable body alone but when he created a clone, his body was stronger and Zaraki couldnt cut him.
Although cut from the anime, Askin explained in the manga that Gremy's powers were so powerful that he was placed in a special barrier cage within Silburn.
Yep just so many cuts, we could a seen how much crazy is Gremmy is to his Quincy comrades too... And that panic scene in the manga when the Meteor showed up
Something cool about what Gremmy said: He imagine himself stronger than Kenpachi, and he said that he imagine his powers correct. Furthermore, we’ll see a certain body not handling his own power. The foreshadowing is real.
All and all you gotta appreciate how first order Shunsui being the head captain was to train Zaraki to attain his true power via Unohana. You will be surprised how tactical Shunsui becomes in further episodes

Really love your reaction! Personally, I highly recommend you to watch the manga version of this battle, although the animation is perfect, but they still cut some scenes in this battle. In the manga, you can have a better feeling of "the strongest" verses "the strongest".

"Nozarashi," the name of the zanpakuto in Zaraki Kenpachi, is the same pronunciation as when Yachiru was written in kanji. This fact is very interesting.
Bit late to the party, but i wish they included a couple scenes from the manga where all shinigami and quincys pause whatever they doing and look up at the meteor and run for their fucking lives. also wish they showed askin with his binoculars as he watches all the fights and starts going on about how ywatch shouldn't of let this fucker out cause he's gonna kill us all lmao!!!
In the manga, the shinigami soliders and the quincy troops react from ground level at this meteor appearing in the sky! Even individuals like Pepe (Sternritter L), Askin, Jugram and Bazz-B react to this! Bazz-B comments on Gremmy (that monster) is doing Looking at this anime episode now; it looks like all of that is sadly removed If kept in the episode, it would've felt like a wider scope. because it IS a war
18:41 Not just any meteor, he slashed a meteor envisioned with the purpose of killing everything within Seireitei except for Gremmy. Guess how many Captains and Sternritters are within Seiretei at the moment? Yeah, it accounted for all of them. That's how broken it was... its destructive capability is more than it seems.
Little reminder that Gremmy is an inexperienced little kid. Give the Visionary to someone with better emotional intelligence and doesn't get easily triggered/distracted like Aizen/Kisuke and they could rule every anime verse
One point for you michael...the meteor that gremmy summon was a meteor that could've destroy the entire sereitei.(soul society) but kenoachi casually cut it
One thing I noticed watching this episode is why Gremmy couldn't affect Kenpachi like he did with Guenael Lee making him explode or Yachiru making her bones turn into cookies? It's because he couldn't. It's simply a difference in spiritual pressure. Kenpachi's spiritual pressure is so strong that imaginary tactics that Gremmy would have attempted to do directly on Kenpachi's body wouldn't work. That's why he used external things, like the guns, meteors, explosions, the vaccuum of space, etc. Another example is when Soifon tried to use her suzumebachi on aizen, which would kill any opponent after two strikes in the same spot, didn't work because his spiritual pressure is so strong that it just didn't affect him.
gremmy was a prisoner in the wandenrich due to his sheer power he barely knew the world and combat he lost due to inexperince ultimately. now you wait till next week to see something else thats peak.

Don't know if you noticed or if anyone else already said it. At the part of the episode when Kenpachi is flying up to the meteor and Yachiru is watching him, then a memory plays where Kenpachi asks her where she came from and what's her name, and Yachiru touches the blade... It's that Yachiru was always in actuality Nozarashi, but that she showed herself in that way to be able to interact with Kenny and try to draw his attention. If you remember from the SS arc, shinigami can manifest their zanpakuto spirit in the physical world with training and Kenpachi had been doing this for years without realizing it, up to the point of giving the spirit a name which then granted the spirit shinigami-esque powers. That is also why her "shikai" is so weird.
Well worth the wait to see my dude react to this one. Kenpachi is on God Mode! And he outsmarted Gremmy to defeat him. So sick. Can’t wait for the other fights.

Lol no he’s still named Kenpachi Zaraki. After this people like Ikkaku and other members of the Gotei 13 still call him “Captain Zaraki”.

The rakugan thing gremmy mentioned are the equivalent of cookies. Also Nozarashi means Weather Beaten One. It more resembles an ax that has its top cut off. The curve of the bottom part of the blade if flipped makes that more apparent. He can also swing that heavy looking blade with no effort seeing as how the zanpakuto dont weigh anything to the person wielding it. Kenpachi never removed his eye patch either 😂
The power to turn imagination into reality literally makes you a god. The first time I saw it was from the main villain of an anime called 'The Law of Ueki' (one of the best anime, imo). You should watch it. You'll see the power come into play.

I think gremmy was so concerned with replicating kenpachis power that he forgot to care for the replication of the Vessel but it was within his power
True. If he had double or triple of himself, he could have done it. Like how he couldn't create un-cuttable body alone but when he created a clone, his body was stronger and Zaraki couldnt cut him.
Although cut from the anime, Askin explained in the manga that Gremy's powers were so powerful that he was placed in a special barrier cage within Silburn.

"Nozarashi," the name of the zanpakuto in Zaraki Kenpachi, is the same pronunciation as when Yachiru was written in kanji. This fact is very interesting.
Bit late to the party, but i wish they included a couple scenes from the manga where all shinigami and quincys pause whatever they doing and look up at the meteor and run for their fucking lives. also wish they showed askin with his binoculars as he watches all the fights and starts going on about how ywatch shouldn't of let this fucker out cause he's gonna kill us all lmao!!!

One thing I noticed watching this episode is why Gremmy couldn't affect Kenpachi like he did with Guenael Lee making him explode or Yachiru making her bones turn into cookies? It's because he couldn't. It's simply a difference in spiritual pressure. Kenpachi's spiritual pressure is so strong that imaginary tactics that Gremmy would have attempted to do directly on Kenpachi's body wouldn't work. That's why he used external things, like the guns, meteors, explosions, the vaccuum of space, etc. Another example is when Soifon tried to use her suzumebachi on aizen, which would kill any opponent after two strikes in the same spot, didn't work because his spiritual pressure is so strong that it just didn't affect him.

Don't know if you noticed or if anyone else already said it. At the part of the episode when Kenpachi is flying up to the meteor and Yachiru is watching him, then a memory plays where Kenpachi asks her where she came from and what's her name, and Yachiru touches the blade... It's that Yachiru was always in actuality Nozarashi, but that she showed herself in that way to be able to interact with Kenny and try to draw his attention. If you remember from the SS arc, shinigami can manifest their zanpakuto spirit in the physical world with training and Kenpachi had been doing this for years without realizing it, up to the point of giving the spirit a name which then granted the spirit shinigami-esque powers. That is also why her "shikai" is so weird.
Well worth the wait to see my dude react to this one. Kenpachi is on God Mode! And he outsmarted Gremmy to defeat him. So sick. Can’t wait for the other fights.
