Having renovated two campers I so relate to the "yuck" factor but in the end you will not only put your "stamp" on it - you'll have a beautiful finished space to live in. Feeling wistful for those nomad days. The memories to be made by you all are priceless. Enjoy!!!!
This is going to be so cool! So glad your taking us with you on your family’s adventures. Have you considered putting curtains up on their beds so if they wanted some privacy they would have a space of their own.

So much work redoing a trailer. My sister and her husband redid a 5th wheel. The also ended up removing all flooring and trims. Put in a vinyl wood flooring and it was so nice. You and Donnie are such go getters!

Heater vent tip, put a dryer sheet in each one. It helps trap the dust and crumbs that sneak in AND it helps the the trailer smell fresh and clean. We do it with our camping trailer and switch them out every so often.
You're a queen! I can tell the condition of your beloved NEW TRAILER came as a big shock with much frustration and anger. I would be highly upset. So much work but you've got a great team and all of your viewers cheering you on. Its gonna be GORGEOUS 😍

We don't live in our 5th wheel but we pulled out the couch and the double recliner and put in 3 separate recliners so much better for comfort and space good luck on your new adventures

We could but we really love to have a little cozy carpet in the little living area and the kids room so we ended up figuring out how to replace it!! 🤩

We were gonna get a small camper and move it to our property until we get our house built, but we decided against it. One reason is hubby didn’t like the small space. The other was we were gonna spend $10k for the camper since we have never owned one, but I wanted to just stay in our rental a bit longer and use that $ towards building the house. It’s great y’all can do this and it looks like you will enjoy it, too!
I'm totally here for this journey... Let geaux!! 😊 Your working your lil hiney off but it's totally worth it. PS: I would personally hire someone to clean once a week for PaPa Don. It's cheap for someone to clean a camper plus in hind sight you get a report on how the other camp is looking. Maybe Donnie can politely address the cat issue & fill him in one these damages so it doesn't happen to other camper.
Oh it’s definitely been addressed I just don’t share every detail on here 😅 working on some other plans behind the scenes hopefully.

Is papa Don's cat a male? Is his cat fixed? That maybe the cause of the cat damage... I have 4 female cats .. all fixed & they don't mess with anything & always use the litter box.. also I hope jasper doesn't mark because he'll smell the other cats markings...
Papa Don should invest in a self-cleaning litter box. We have a Litter Robot 3 for our 3. Love it. So many different ones on the market now. Oh, and a couple of tall cat trees and cardboard scratchers. Hopefully, that stops them from damaging the other camper. 🤞🏼
I’d agree! The whole time I was watching, my thoughts were that we will see a toy hauler Reno in the future. I have a kitty also, and completely understand how they can be mischievous. I’m also impressed how well y’all have handled this!! Kudos!
You are going to have so much fun. As far as the cleaning goes, you are far more gracious than I would have bern with all the dirt and cat pee.
You can tell she isn't happy about it. This is her father in law that lived in it. A Single man, bachelor? I'm sure out of respect for her father in law, and husband, she's not going to humiliate him on social media., I'm sure she has alot more class than that. Life happens. It's fixable. 😊

Just a heads up on the cat pee.. if Jasper smells it he could start “marking his territory “ and unfortunately it gets everywhere. Sadly, speaking from experience. Tearing out the carpet may not be enough.
I know you all will have it looking like brand new with all your personal touches. I am so excited to live vicariously through you all on your travels. Can’t wait!!!
Yes we ended up ripping out all the carpet and insulation under the carpet as well as painting two coats of kilz primer over it and we got all the smell out 🙌🏼

I remember trying to clean our guest house when an occupants cats ruined it….tore all carpeting out. I feel for you but the end result will be amazing with all your hard work. Your daughter was so cute helping you out
I would replace all the carpet in every room wherever carpet was just to be safe
Wow! You’ve got your work cut out for you but I’m sure it will turn out beautiful! I can relate to cleaning out after cats! We bought an investment house once that was disgusting! The carpet was crunchy from cat poo and pee! We had to replace subfloor about 2 feet away from walls due to cat pee! Ugh! But we did it!

As some one who has horrible breathing issues I don’t know if papa Don does but cat urine can make it 1000 times worse so I hope his cat isn’t still doing this! But at least it’s fixable! Love the progress I have been seeing on Instagram too!!
Absolutely love your videos! Anything that has cat urine on it you will never get the odour out. You are the best to power through. I would have dumped the trailer.

He isn’t working while we travel, just me. And the boys used the shelf under the window to step on and then up onto the bed. But since this video donnie built ladders 😄

I’m behind on videos with my subscribers because I was in Alaska for 2 weeks and then my dog suddenly died a few days ago, so things have been super emotional over here. When we bought our house it was empty for a year before they put it for sale. They had carpet in the living room and it was covered in cat urine! We were getting rid of all of it but even the rooms with wood, the cat urine was all underneath! So gross! We have a cat, and I’m so thankful our cat uses only a litter box! I can imagine the smell! I can’t wait to see how this turns out!

I'm sorry that Papa Don's cats were so rude 😭 definitely the right choice to rip out the carpet. We had a cat pee on the carpet in the house about 30 years ago now, and the smell would still pop up on really humid days 20 years after the fact and it was cleaned a billion times and not even left to dry. The cat has just been fixed and she had an accident. As expensive as flooring is now back then an entire room of new carpet would've been in the thousands and just wasn't in the budget. With your traveling the last thing yall need is that smell everytime it rains or you're in a really hot area!
It def sucks that you guys invested so much into the cougar and in less than 4 years have to redo so much but I absolutely love that you guys helped Papa Don have a nicer place and now even more suitable for him with the toy hauler. I know so many ppl who would be like "no we aren't helping you because you caused damage previously" and I just love that y'all are doing your best to still care for Papa Don even though it will likely cost y'all later. Family and love is stronger than any amount of money 💞
Also, cats can be jerks! I hope the toy hauler being clean when you dropped it off will help Papa Don with she quality etc, at least for awhile! ((Hugs))

Wow..what a big 1st day, you two got alot down. You both are handling it all so good. No can't live in cat pee that is a nasty smell. If you are takibg your cat you don't want him to mark his spot and thats what they do if they smell other cats. I think I'd just go ahead and remove the back as well. Start fresh!! I can't wait to see what all your doing. You guys will have it looking beautiful in no time.
Sometimes you have to replace the pad under the carpet also😅 I use to be a property manager & with cat urine rarely replacing just the carpet isn’t enough 😅 the smells would still come thru new carpet 😢
There’s no pad under the carpet just insulation but we did rip all of it out after all 🥴🥴

I’d pull it out & start fresh.
Scrub everything with any Odoban. 1 gallon is like $10 and makes like 20+ gallons of cleaner. We use it on everything. We have 3 cats, 1 dog, 1 hamster, & 2 kids. Our house never smells. I put 8 oz in with every gallon of water when I carpet clean. No pet smells! I prefer Fresh Linen but we buy all the scents. Doesn't mask scents either! They go away. If there's still a smell reapply, and always use cool water, not warm or hot.
Douse the cat pee in Odoban and leave it for 20 minutes. May need to do it 2-3 times but the smell will be gone. When my dog has had accidents on our area rugs I just use the Odoban at full strength and let it sit for 20-30 min.s before using the carpet cleaner.
Yeah we just ripped all the carpet out. Not dealing with that 😂

I just feel bad if he saw you show everything his cats ruined and talk about it. 😢 I know we can’t control animals and what they do. My dog is going through a phase as she’s getting old and we rent so there’s things we need to fix too. 😭
He knows we are filming the renovation. It’s no secret what happened to the trailer and I am not going to lie about what happened while fixing things up so it just is what it is on that subject 😅

Yes this is our trailer we traveled with in 2019
Lol my dad is a trucker and he does a 3 point turn in our driveway everyday to park... Meanwhile I can barely backup a sedan with a backup camera, forget parallel parking 😂 One time (ok he tried to teach me lots) he was trying to teach me with the quad and the trailer and I somehow managed to be still hitched to it while on two wheels with the back tire on-top of the trailer bar. He didn't try to teach me with a trailer ever again. I swear the ppl who can backup like my dad and Donny are genetically altered 😂🤣🤔

How does Jasper do with traveling? My cats hate going in the car. When we moved from Nebraska to Florida last year, it was such a pain. One of them cried for hours 😑

Trailer you used for camping trips? The vintage one? It was so cute
I talked about all of that in the announcement video and explained all of our trailers etc. we sold that one in December 2021 😋
