Sorry for almost crying in the video so many times. Blackswan is my happy place, and I thought I would never get to see women who look like me in a feminine/Siren concept. There isn't anything wrong with a sexy concept, I just PERSONALLY like soft femme vibes more. I never got to see Black or Brown girls with dark skin portrayed as hyper feminine godess that wasnt overly seggualized. It nice to just see some pure and girly things on darker Asians and Black women for once.
Also, With this comeback the bad streak that we had since RaNia was broken, THIS IS THE FIRST COMEBACK WITH THE SAME CONSECUTIVE LINEUP IN THEIR ENTIRE CAREER!! This is a very significant achievement.
It greatly exceeded my expectations. I was literally on the verge of tears when watching the MV😢
Cat and mouse era has sold blackswan for me so much. These girls are so special and mean so much. And I can’t wait to see them explore so many different sides and genres. They deserve more recognition!
I think if they go music shows, it can go more viral than Karma since in korea, these soft concepts go futher there. Knez really like them so i think they have a chance of even getting a win if no popular group is promoting!
I almost cried watching this- this is what we are talking about when we mean representation matters ❤ you said it so well when you reflect on how important it is for bpoc women to be displayed in presentations of hyper femininity it just COMPLETELY revolutionises the way we get to be seen in mainstream media ❤ I truly adore BlackSwan for how I know they’ve changed this space for the better- and as a Black person myself I give my whole heart to Fatou and the girls for their efforts❤

I'm glad you like it, I always wanted to talk things like this without being gaslit by others. Black and Brown women of dark skin rarely ever get portrayed as feminine with overt seggulization. Things like that were always reserved for lighter skinned women, it felt nice to be included and be see Darker skinned women as women (in non overt sexual way)
I feel the exact some way as you, it is really refeshing to see what Blackswan is doing. As a dark-skinned woman myself, everytime I see Fatou representing it really warms my heart. And shout out to DR Music for not being afraid to bold.
Softer concepts is the only reason I love K-pop for boys and girl group!
Omg I was thinking the same thing. Although I really love tough concept, something about seeing my brown girls being represented in a cute concept with 0 stereotyping really healed my soul. It’s crazy cause we don’t even get this kind of representation in the west. So I really didn’t expect it from a Korean company

I usually don't care that much about music videos. Will watch once or twice and call it good. But the visuals, outfits, dancing, and sets are so good that I am addicted to this MV! All of the girls look so beautiful! I am glad that their company seems to finally be getting their shit together.

I feel you, my love 🥹🫶🏾 I never cared to have representation in kpop/kdramas due to us having that more in the west + in the east in things like Nollywood. But when Fatou first debuted, there was something so heartwarming about a visibly monoracial Black woman in a space that I've come to adore a lot. 💟 And she speaks the language (amongst so many others), she's gorgeous, raps & sings well, AND is so charismatic on stage. 💌 Once upon a time, Fatou expressed not wanting to do a cutesy concept, so I was honestly shocked to see her in these pretty pink & purple outfits w/ pink makeup. 🌸🌸 All four of them looked gorgeous, and the chemistry they have w/ eo shined the most! 🥹 Warmed my heart! 🪷
Hi.. thank you so much for this video.. you said everything I was feeling. I am a black woman who got into kpop around 2010 starting with Bi Rain and fell down the rabbit hole.. but I began to see how toxic the fandoms were, esp where melanin was involved ("oppa didn't mean it" and all the light/fair ideal types, sigh)... my cousin and i would wish we could see black girls in groups with cute concepts. It felt like black kpop fans weren't wanted at all... I eventually distanced myself from kpop except for a few of my fave groups.. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I came across a Blackswan video. I don't even know which one it was. I remember the Rania issues and the rebrand to Blackswan but i wasn't interested after Alex left, until now. I have no idea how many times I have watched this video and all the reaction vids I can find. I just smile until my cheeks hurt and exclaim that it's so cute! It has healed my inner 2010-2014 child that was longing to see black girls be included in the pastel aegyo cuteness and ppl loving it. I have to stan them, i fear.. new Lumina for life

I'm happy to hear that blackswan it is represents so many things. I've never been a K-pop fan even though I'm Korean. I saw Cats and mouse three days ago, since then I‘ve been binge watching all videos of Blackswan, this is why I'm here maybe😂. I believe this is going to be a big change in K-pop. In my opinion, k pop now is a genre, not about countries or something else. I think Blackswan means a lot in that matter. Most importantly, I like how they work hard to achieve their dreams. I don't wnev count how many times I cried watching their videos. I really love them and I hope their success. They're very talented and brave. 😻🐭
