Furthermore, insects are invertebrate, which means they don't have a spinal cord that attaches to the brain, which would in that case send pain signals to the said brain.
Insects _do_ run on instinct though, which is what causes them to detect danger, for example, spiders sensing powerful vibrations in the ground in front of them which would cause them to scurry in the opposite direction, whereas weak vibrations in front of them which would signal prey.
Again, insects can't feel pain, because they don't have nociceptors, and because they're invertebrate. Insects run on instinct.

That last shot with the butterfly and the dining scorpion side by side was masterful.
Really impressive performance by the scorpion here. I can't believe he was able to snap off the spider's leg when it was moving so fast. And then using its superior range to inflict a lethal blow when the spider was too far away to fight back showed brilliant tactics.
The range is the undefeatable weapon.
As a team Spider, I'd like to see a second battle...😅

Is it just me, or is this battle really similar to the battle between the badged huntsman and the spider hunting scorpion? There was both a scorpion vs a huntsman spider, both had the scorpion win, and both had the scorpion getting one of the spider's legs first.

The spider would've won if it had launched a counter attack after dropping its leg. It was in perfect position to strike the scorpion from behind.

i love scorpions but what i love most of them is the fact that i see them often in the hot months of summer in my country when they're looking for refuge of the heat, i love to live in central america.
