Alexander von Heißen plays his transcription of the famous violin chaconne of the 4th Partita by Johann Sebastian Bach, BWV 1004.
As we know at first hand from his pupil Johann Friedrich Agricola, Bach improvised his own violin works on this instrument : “Their originator played them often himself on the Clavichord, and added in Harmony so much as he found necessary.”
We recorded this piece in the cozy kitchen of the beautiful baroque castle Schloss Burgpreppach, Bavaria.
Clavichord built after Christian Gottlob Hubert (Ansbach, 1787) by Christian Fuchs (Frankfurt-Höchst).

I´ve played this on guitar before 20 years, but this is top..so cloce to the authentic interpetations on the lute or strings. Thanks a lot!

Amazing music by JS Bach played with the clavichord. 🎶🎼🎹🎵 I listened to this music in the original violin version, transcribed for lute and guitar, but never with a keyboard. 🎵🎹🎼🎶
About one liter of red wine was consumed during this video's making. This is not only perfectionism but alcoholism, too.

Why do you drink wine? Bach himself drank brandy. His salary in Leipzig consisted not only of money, but also of 50 l. of brandy every year. During composing and playing he got his inspiration from it.
I feel like he actually drank more beer. Bach and Beer both start with B so this seems more plausible than Brandy (Weinbrand).
@@Wagon_Lordall kidding aside, can’t we gather from Bach’s letters or those of his family, or records kept by his household, what he likely consumed?
And, of course, historians probably know quite a bit about the food and drink of the day.
Beautiful instrument and lovely playing - pity about the pretentious cinematography though because it detracts from your performance.
