ive been cutting for 7 years now, i was following you sub 10k followers, ive been following you since before i knew how to cut hair, since ive known how to cut hair. this video just takes me back to the beginning of my journey, kind of our journey in a way. you've come so far as a hair do'er, an educator, a father. i really appreciate you and your work andrew, one of my heroes for sure. much love
These videos are so helpful. I'm not a barber, but I've cut my own hair for 6 years now. Recently I cut my hair in a way were it turned out to be "perfect", but when it grew out and I retried to cut it the same way, it ended up looking totally different (and bad). I'm trying my best to learn the logic of haircutting so that I don't have to guess what will work and what won't. There's currently too much randomness at work, and it gets frustrating when haircutting is a passion
I was gonna write a different comment but I'd rather just say what i want to. I love finding autistics (trust me andrew you are and it's a good thing lmao) that are experts in random fields, because the way you explain this is just so intuitive. You explain it like as if everyone is understanding things this way, but truly, it's your unique spin on what you have learned that turns it into so much more intuitive material. I do this in my profession as well, this is really just how we learn things in general, it's just that most people aren't aware of meta learning (learning about how to learn), so they don't get this perspective of breaking down everything into such simplicity. That's what makes your work so special, you have the talent that every other great teacher does, to explain things how they were meant to be explained in the first place. And you even do the same thing I do, suggesting the people you learned from, assuming if they taught you, they must be better teachers for who you are teaching, yet it's the translation that makes it so beautiful.
Can’t wait to see them! I haven’t revisited the basics for myself in like three years, and while scraping off the rust to do this video is was like, mind blown by how much information I sort of forget about in my daily salon work. It made me slow down and overthink (in a good way) what I’m doing with even basic routine haircuts
@@andrewdoeshair Its what i teach, I just taught a FUNdamentals of cutting course this week in Manchester, im now in the Netherlands working for Joico so video of all this coming soon. I loved your visuals, Ive got those heads but women versions. Great video man!!
Great way to keep it simple Andrew! I would add Sam villa, maksim nikitochkin, vadim lastochkin, hair by James Annabel and James atkinson from the life of hair to the recommended list 🙌✂️😁 greets from Argentina! 🇦🇷🇦🇷
Always love your unique perspective of viewing things which makes things so much simpler. And what were the channels that you recommended? I’m not sure how to spell them. Thank you
Dude I love your method of teaching. You are straight forward without being a know it all. Thanks for your work!
