DR2: Off the Record is my canon version of DR2. I like chuck for the most part, but playing through the first game & hopping over to off the record gathering survivors & taking pictures as Big Frank is just great stuff. SIGNIFICANTLY better than what the hell they did with “frank” or, really anything they did in the 4th entry.
There was a weapon you missed in Uranus Zone: the Alien Probe. It falls into the stupid weapons category, though the stronger attack is an instakill. There's an achievement for points that begin with the letter E if you take a picture of the four probes at a kiosk. While the light attack is a knockback with some electrical damage, the stronger attack is...well...what these sort of items are best known for. I personally feel like that weapon crosses the line from being funny into being gross in a bad way, but YMMV.
I LOVE OFF THE RECORD mostly because it was my first dead rising mostly because the ports were not a thing back then so the PS3 version of this was my first experience
Coming back to this, and hearing these two’s conversation about TJ coming back for this and not 4, is even more painful given TJ STILL hasn’t been brought back as the voice of Frank for Dead Rising DR (inb4 TJ alternate voice unlockable/DLC). Y’know, the Frank West Experience itself.
has anyone notices that the survivors in off the record take more dmg from zombies then in the original dead rising 2? Also Evan note book pic is funny as hell the model is messed up he crossed eye and his teeth are clipping through his upper lip XD
Easiest way to earn cash is go into Sandbox mode grab all the Gambling books and go to the Sloth Ranch Casino and you can easily win 100K every minute just gambling on the big monitor near the exit to the foodcourt. This way you now u didn't waste a single second in story mode and your money transfers.
By the way something you never mentioned is that despite them making Brandon an important story Character here in Off the Records they never actually changed his voice lines at all in the cutscenes meaning they probably didn't get his voice actor back for Off the Records
Actually, Brandon said something like "It wasn't supposed to go down that way" in this version. In the original version, he has lines where he is praising Chuck for "what he did."
There was one other combo weapon. You mix a defibrillator and a tray and you can use it to shock zombies. The stronger attack causes you to explode a zombie's head.
Dead Rising 2 OTR is basically Dead Rising 2 but better so I think it's definitely worth the money especially if you didn't get DR2 in the first place. The extra content and everything else that was added such as the extra psychos that were put in just makes this the superior version tbh. I will say that I played this on PS4 and I havent experienced any glitches or crashes throughout my entire playthrough so it might just be the Xbox One version that had issues.
My theory about the changed stacy model is that the real stacy from DR2 in this universe was actually killed prior in order for phenotrans to insert this stacy as an agent
Did anyone else relise that for Adam’s brother fight the photo of frank was from the intro so that means the dude died so that is how the brother recognized frank
It's not actually a "damage cap" per say. It's more of a weapon cap. On psychopath s there more you use a single weapon the less damage it will do. It's basically Capcom's way of forcing you not to rely on one weapon.
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but the damage cap is only if you use the same weapon over and over again. If you switch weapons after 2 hits it'll do the normal amount of damage again.
Both Dead Rising 2 and OTR run better on Ps4 if you ever wanna play them again. Although, for some reason. I'm Dead Rising 2 is prone to crashing. OTR runs fine tho. Edit: The Stacey boss fight doesn't bug on Ps4 unless your REALLY trying to on purpose.
I was disappointed you didn't point out the Missing Name glitch where you can pick up Stacey's robot's arm. Throughout the fight you can see the weapon item icon, it's strange you seemed to have not noticed it.
DR2: OTR may have been a cash grab, however I did enjoy it more than the original DR2. Mostly because of the bonus content. 7-4 was an asshole of a mission though, I don't know why they made it more difficult, I guess just to be dicks. Also it is way easier to level up in this game, I got to Level 50 in 4 hours by just playing Sandbox Mode and doing the activities that got me the most PP.
I don't mind the damage cap at all since it makes psychos an actual threat and forces a bit more strategy rather than just going up and spamming the attack button to win.
Has anyone pointed out that when stacey and Frank are watching the news showing how the fortune city out break happened, Frank's hair is just randomly blue?
To be fair the glitch with the snipers is only on the port of the game. I played the PS3 version a lot back in the day and that doesn't happen. Also with your complaint about the bosses and the fact they take less damage with repeated hits, they aren't that hard if you use even a couple of brain cells. All you need are one or two painkillers which are really easy to make, and understanding the concept of dodging helps too.
Funny. I played this game (And the rest of the series with the exception of the first game) for the first time last year, and I thought it was awesome. I'm definitely looking forward to my second run now.

I know why they implemented it, but it still sucks.
@@TheNSCL that's fair I agree
Both Dead Rising 2 and OTR run better on Ps4 if you ever wanna play them again.
Although, for some reason. I'm Dead Rising 2 is prone to crashing.
OTR runs fine tho.
Edit: The Stacey boss fight doesn't bug on Ps4 unless your REALLY trying to on purpose.
True
I was disappointed you didn't point out the Missing Name glitch where you can pick up Stacey's robot's arm. Throughout the fight you can see the weapon item icon, it's strange you seemed to have not noticed it.
That glitch is specifically for the remaster on PS4 & Xbox One.
Man I missed this game back when I had my PS3 at the time.
"I like steak...FAHK!"
Didn't expect the violator from spawn to show up
Gta 6 is Michael just screaming: i coverd wars you know!
Has anyone pointed out that when stacey and Frank are watching the news showing how the fortune city out break happened, Frank's hair is just randomly blue?
Oh wait, it's those guys from Dead Rising 1 Boss Rush Challenge
When I got to the part at the end where you had to fight in the area I just zombie walk till it was over
Let's hope we get a real Dead Rising 3 Let's Play.
It was announced a couple weeks ago
Thank you for the whole game.
He holding back dead rising 3
I had other things I wanted to do first... also I wanted to spite the people constantly pestering me for it.
You forgot to go to the room katie is at in the beginning frank makes a joke saying who would bring a kid to this and you get franks tir oufit
You know if you changed his suits colors around Frank could pass for a very realistic leisure suit Larry.
The final boss is a giant enemy Crab
Funny. I played this game (And the rest of the series with the exception of the first game) for the first time last year, and I thought it was awesome. I'm definitely looking forward to my second run now.
I played OTR more than DR2 so I didn't really notice Stacey looked different
Other than the boss fight.
After seeing the cutscene for carl he actually changes almost all dialog and reason to kill you
Wait so frank can make a boomerang more deadly. This is ty the tasmanian tiger all over again.
He covered Wars Y'know......
