There’s a complete difference between best by dates and being expired. You can still eat a vast majority of food past a best by date, which is what most American shelf stable food has on it!
Please please PLEASE PUT A LOCK ON THE MEDICINE CUPBOARD!!!! Even Tylenol can kill a person if they take enough, and with little, and teens who can get depressed badly without you knowing, you can never be too careful. Trust me as a Mom talking from experience 😢
putting a lock on your medicine cupboard may work for YOUR famliy but it may not work for theres and also besides from ledger and beckem [ i know thats spelled wrong] they have older kids so they know how much to take so moral is mind your own buissness
An excel sheet with all your grocery items on it with a stock and used section for each cupboard would really help ! I work as a bartender and this keeps us on track for rotation and what's used more often then not! Having one for each cupboard and having your kids check off what they used would help each month looking quicker at what you have to restock :)

On the inside of each cabinet put on list on what each cabinet has in it, when you are out write down on this each what you need and that will be your pre list for next time you have to go buy gro and your list is already made with no worries and you can make a mine copy on your computer and just print a new list again tape up or tack up to start a new list for next time .. really great time saver. If shop 6 months do a list of how many items you have and write down and see how many you used and what you don’t use a lot in 6 months you can change how you shop and you know you do t need to buy that many again this time, saves money.

Rice can defiantly get weavals. That is how my cupboards got infested. Unfortunatly I have a small kitchen and it was in all my cupboards. In rice, flour, cereal. Tupperware is good to store them in as the weavels cannot get through it. :)

Put your flour/ flour based mixes/oatmeals and pastas in the freezer for a minimum of 2/3 days because the weevil eggs are IN the flour/oatmeals already. Freezing kills the weevil's eggs. No bay leaves necessary.
for weevil prevention place flours and grain in pastic in freezer for 24 hours before placing in long term storage it will kill any eggs present. good job
