Hello, do i need to change motor from 110V/50hz to 220V/50Hz or its enough to move the fuse and cable over to the appropriate marked position on the Valhalla power supply? I see two types of motor in this LINN LP12 with this PBC .Thank you for answer.
Hi, I bought a lp12 On ebay a few months back now! Came with no tone arm! On looking at it, it has a few little parts missing! The p clip, the belt guide and the two motor adjustment screws are missing! I just ordered a Ittok arm from eBay shipping from the US so needed to get the other little parts p clip and belt guide I’ve ordered but cannot find the screws needed for the motor/belt adjustment! Can u tell me what size those screws are? So I can try to buy alternative screws to fit? Love watch your vids specially on the vintage marantz gear👍 cheers, Paul from the UK
I’ve recently bought my Linn LP12 over from the UK. It has a Valhalla power supply. To be able to use it in the U.S. Is it true all you have do is to move the fuse and cable over to the appropriate marked position on the Valhalla power supply?
This turntable has electronics to adjust voltage and via that motor speed. How does one adjust motorspeed on a Thorens TD160 (which doesn’t have electronics)?
The valhalla power supply voltage adjustment potentiometer will optimize start up torque and quiet running of the motor. As the motor is AC syncronous its speed is fixed by the 50Hz supplied by the Valhalla board. Speed adjustment is achieved by tilting the motor, which as the pulley is bevelled, changes the effective pulley diameter.
I am servicing a LP12 using Hercules power supply, do you have the schematic ?

What do you think about material construction for belts have any bearing or not.
And if so which is the best material and why!

Yes - amazingly, you would think out a massively more costly alternative solution!
What apreference do you have in caps, signal vs power path, nicheon/Rubicon and model #?
I have never found that RPM app to be reliable. I just use an old school strobe disc. Looks like the bearing is leaking.
Thanks. very very good lp12
Is that the Valhalla board?
Thanks. Love my lp12.

You should have the motor turning the inner and outer platter when adjusting the voltage to get it correctly set.
Excellent ! Now all i have to do is find one , ...
